2:45 - The Only One Left 4:45 - Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow 7:10 - Fourth Wing 8:15 - A Taste of Golden Iron 9:35 - Half a Soul 10:55 - Penpal 12:55 - What Moves The Dead 13:55 - The Will of The Many 16:45 - Iron Flame 20:00 - Starling House 12:45 - Midnight is the Darkest Hour
Sounds like you gotta read more classics (or at least one a year) to fill up your reading soul! I definitely had to do that in 2023…the tiktok books weren’t doing it for me so i started reading classics
I really liked Fourth Wing as well, but during the last 20 pages I sensed how the dynamics between the main characters would become and I already got pissed. Still, I wanted to give the sequel a chance and now that you've talked so badly about it I´m even MORE intrigued. Lord help me. Hahaha. Thank your for your reviews Ellias, big fan of your channel since I got out of my reading slump thanks to it. Merry Christmas and happy New Year
i had a different experience with tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow 😅 the lack of communication was getting on my nerves, but the idea of the story was good and really sweet. fourth wing is fourth wing - nothing to say there. 😅 what moves the dead was a cool reading. i think the will of the many is a great book, i agree with you about the end, it was a puzzle. 😂 HAHAHA! Agree with you on iron flame is so "let's not make sense here" Love your channel, Ellias! ❤
HI!! I just saw the reaction to breaking dawn in cindy's channel and i just knew i had to come to your channel lol. i totally relate to the reading a bunch of books and feeling like they didn't do much to satisify me. after the first half of the year i decided to study my upcoming reads in a better (smarter) way and definitely stop listening/reading recs all the time. i read some of the best books after doing that. hope this helps! :)
I could so relate to Iron Flame review. On point. After reading that book, I kept wondering how did I found first book even okay. This is such a bad and ridiculous book. Absolutely crap and written for pure marketing and getting money from the hype than actually taking effort to publish a good series.
I would recommend reading the conversation with the author at the back of Midnight is the darkest hour if you haven’t already! The author really goes into the themes she was trying to explore and gives some context on the ending that I thought was interesting!
omg I've been in such a reading slump too, I don't think I've actually finished a book since maybe september...? 😭I started reading the ballad of songbirds and snakes after seeing the movie the other day though and I think I'm starting to get my spark back
I recently read and loved the Parasol Protectorate series by Gail Carriger. I want to read all the books in the Parasolverse! I am currently reading and really enjoying "Swamp Story" by Dave Barry
Oh god, I had the same thoughts about Iron Flame. I really enjoyed Fourth Wing because it was an easy, fun read but after Iron Flame…I seriously doubt myself and the publisher and the author. 🫠
I’m so glad you liked TnTnT! I always get so nervous when ppl share their opinions on it. Im sure some of it nostalgia bc I have memories of playing Oregon trail w my history class as a kid, but I just thought all the games in the book sounded so interesting and right up my alley. P sure we cried over the same chapter. I’m sure without context it must sound so strange when I say I would die for Marx lol but I can’t help it, I loved the tamer of horses so much.
I love your wrap ups Ellias 😊 it is such a pity about Iron Flame, you can just tell the publishers pushed Yarros to get the next book out way too fast just to make some money
I feel the same way about Iron Flame! And, I too have found myself questioning what I really thought about The Fourth Wing. 😂. 100 pages in and I found myself getting irritated to even pick up the book. I heard the reason the second book came out so quickly is because of the adaptation that is coming out.
I feel so lame but I had a blast w/ Fourth Wing & Iron Flame. The writing in the 2nd was terrible & I'm convinced it wasn't edited. Her editor was like TLDR 😂 I was not a big fan of the romance, especially in the 2nd. Like we get it, you can't communicate but you wanna bone 🤷🏻♀️ It bothers me that Violet preserved so much yet the most important thing was getting shipped w/ the main bad boy. Nobody cares (yes i did a lot of skimming). I loved everything else though 😅 Any recommendations for a very very similar book (talking dragons, violence, found family, epic battles) but that's actually written well? I liked the story enough that I'll keep reading the series AND read every similar book I can find 😂
2:45 - The Only One Left
4:45 - Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow
7:10 - Fourth Wing
8:15 - A Taste of Golden Iron
9:35 - Half a Soul
10:55 - Penpal
12:55 - What Moves The Dead
13:55 - The Will of The Many
16:45 - Iron Flame
20:00 - Starling House
12:45 - Midnight is the Darkest Hour
For reading slumps, I always recommend reading The Princess Bride! It's pure entertainment!
I’m sending you love and a fabulous 2024❤❤❤
I read tomorrow x3 last month and I have never been the same since. I am so happy it lived up to the hype. What a beautiful book!
Sounds like you gotta read more classics (or at least one a year) to fill up your reading soul! I definitely had to do that in 2023…the tiktok books weren’t doing it for me so i started reading classics
I’m in the same boat, I dnf’d a lot of books this year!
Glad you did a review on Iron Flame because I was planning to read it but good thing I saw your review on that book and saved my time

Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow hit me like a truck as a former cane user now wheelchair user, its so so good
Happy New Year, Ellias!!! ✨🥳💛
I gave Fourth Wing 2 stars but I borrowed Iron Flame from my friend who loved the series just to see what you are talking about, lmao.
The swearing in Elias’ videos cracks me up every time 😂
The last housewife by Ashley Winsted was very very good!! Recommend!
trying to read more books in 2024, so these recommendations are great!! thanks ellias, you always there for us

Half a Soul has my heart! ❤ A very cozy read. Currently, I'm almost done with One Dark Window & Project Hail Mary, and I'm thoroughly enjoying both!
omg I've been in such a reading slump too, I don't think I've actually finished a book since maybe september...? 😭I started reading the ballad of songbirds and snakes after seeing the movie the other day though and I think I'm starting to get my spark back
I've been waiting for a video!! Need to buy new book and till now, I've liked most of the books you've recommended! ☺️☺️
I recently read and loved the Parasol Protectorate series by Gail Carriger. I want to read all the books in the Parasolverse! I am currently reading and really enjoying "Swamp Story" by Dave Barry
I still haven’t read fourth wing or iron flame 😬
Can’t believe I didn’t realize how much Riley loves a hot handyman! They are always showing up in the Sager Cinematic Universe.
Oh god, I had the same thoughts about Iron Flame. I really enjoyed Fourth Wing because it was an easy, fun read but after Iron Flame…I seriously doubt myself and the publisher and the author. 🫠

i haven’t read iron flame yet but all the bad reviews makes me not want to read it 😭😭

I read Nettle and Bone by T. Kingfisher this year and really liked it!
I feel the same way about Iron Flame! Try the Light Pirate by Lily Brooks-Dalton. I think you'd love it.
Read dark heir dude
Iron Flame was really doo doo

It’s so funny because you either LOVED Fourth Wing and hated Iron Flame or you HATED Fourth Wing and loved Iron Flame. I am the latter.
I will say that you are a handsome man. 😉🤗
