Holy Spirit, direct me in my career, and finances. As a single mother with two children with special needs life is an overwhelming journey, especially because I’m constantly faced with financial difficulties. Lord I struggle to provide the basic necessities for my sons, like groceries and rent. I pray for your divine intervention in my life, that you would provide for my children’s needs and guide me towards financial stability in Jesus name I pray.💕❤️

Your local Catholic Churches will help you, gladly! Many have food banks. Many have Christmas sponsorships to ensure your children are blessed with gifts. Some may actually help financially. Make an appointment with one of the priests. You do NOT need to be a Catholic. Allow them the privilege of helping you and your children!❤️🙏🇺🇸

Bishop Barron, I am a non catholic who lost my faith in the lord many years ago. My faith is restored and watching your videos, teachings, commentary’s played a big role in my faith being restored. It lead me to deep intense prayer and reading the Bible I now feel the lords love for me. Thank you with all my soul Bishop Barron.

Even though I am not a Christian, I deeply admire the universal truth of its teachings. I came to understand that ultimately what matters is the the person delivering the teachings - has he truly lived the words that he speaks? I find that this man is truly genuine.
One of the ways I got engaged with Christianity is through listening to devotional music. Arvo Part’s music is pure ineffability. His music is enough to make an atheist a believer. I recently fell in love with his piece Da Pacem Domine (2004). Oh man..

As a catholic christian, I fully respect your comment. I hope for you much more…….to come to Christ. Also, I find it meaningful that you use the word universal as that is what ‘catholic’ means.

"Can you drink the cup that I drink or be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized? " Thanks for elaborating on this saying of my Lord. That's a question that cuts into my soul because I love comfort and I am inherently lazy. Lord please help me to start drinking your cup in accordance with your will, not mine. At least James and John were somewhat drinking his cup at the time of his selfish request. Sometimes I am not even sure if I am even close to drinking the Lord's cup. Thanks to the Holy Spirit I am at least listening to Lord's word through Bishop Barron, which is a start. Lord please strengthen Bishop Barron so he can continue to strengthen us. AMEN.

I’ve spent some time at the top, it’s not what you think. It’s much harder than you ever imagined because what do you want to do but remain at the top. When my time was up in that particular position, I was extremely insulted and felt that the people that made the change didn’t know what they were doing. Thank God, I had no idea how much it had changed me as a person I was unpleasant. I was always looking for the next problem. The next situation that I could shine in I was not a good person. I didn’t know that at the time, but in the years that I followed, and in serious reflection, I have found out that indeed I was, be careful what you wish for. Thank you, Bishop. This was an excellent sermon.

Be careful at the top without your action because only your health can make you feel better emotionally, it contributes to your physical well-being, reducing blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension, and the production of stress hormones, if you act naturally. You won without teamwork.

Constant blaming others damages your relationship with immigrants. It will be difficult to fix and impossible to merge because of eroding trust and you push people away from maintaining a connection with God's power. Be nice to immigrants and go to confession to repent your sins. ❤️‍🔥🍁

What I get out of the gospel today is when it comes to faith and power we should never put the cart in front of the horse. It's one thing to petition those in power to the moral imperative of our faith. It's quite another to ride our faith as a vehicle to power.
Too often I see people use the Catholic faith to justify supporting the indefensible politically. It is one thing to protect life from conception to natural death, and to petition those in power to do so as well. It's quite another to hide behind abortion to defend supporting a fascist dictatorship. The truth is, many people WANT a fascist dictatorship because fascism appeals to the worst, ugliest place of our humanity. Please do not use the unborn as an excuse to support pograms of terror against your neighbors, Gestapo patrols through minority neighborhoods or a regime of violence. Remember, if you do support this kind of evil, be sure that it really the lesser of two evils. Because I have a feeling that for a lot of Catholics, fascism isn't a bug, it's a feature.
Put horse first and the cart behind Him.

Christ IS always with us. We don't need what we already have. Stop thinking like the Jews and waiting for the Messiah to arrive in heavenly victory our way. Christ already accomplished victory on the Cross.
"it is not I who live, but Christ Who lives in me."
The second coming is the day of judgement. Are you actually ready to be judged by the Truth?
Please stop writing nonsense and confusing others seeking Truth. You need to read the actual Bible and educate yourself before leading others blindly and ignorantly.

Thank you, Bishop Barron, for this powerful reflection on the Gospel from Mark 10. It’s easy to identify with James and John, especially when we approach God with our own agendas, thinking we know best. Yet, as you pointed out, Jesus redirects us towards the path of the cross, where true power is not about domination but about bearing the suffering of the world alongside Christ. Thank you for continuously calling us back to the heart of the Gospel and to the path of true discipleship.

  • @paulrubio3918

I appreciate how Bishop Barron gives great insight into what it means when Jesus asks if Sts. James and John are willing to drink the cup. We take on a privileged position with Christ to face the sufferings of the world by giving of ourselves to address them, as Jesus did, and that is the path to true greatness. The priest at Mass on Sunday said our greatness is measured in our service to others, like Jesus says a few lines later.

This is why commitment to truth is so important. A truth outside and greater than yourself and your own ego. To see things as they really are is the first step toward making things better. In the same way Jesus got his hands dirty and served, we should also serve others and get our hands dirty. Getting our hands dirty, in that way, is how we can make ourselves clean.

What an inspiring homily! Jesus asks the Zebedee brothers the very same question He asks Bartimaeus. The Zebedee brothers wanted to be seen flanking Jesus on either side. They had sight but had lost their vision. Bartimaeus did not want to be seen but to see. He had lost his sight but not his vision. (Fr. Alex is an 81-year-old priest in retirement in a parish in Mumbai.) Please pray for me.
