    Best review Mike, I was looking for a comparison between sleep tracking features and you did a good job there. I think the Galaxy Fit is best as a first tracker, but I personally will go with the FitBit for 2 reasons; 1st, I already have few years of tracking history on the FitBit account that I do not want to lose. 2nd, it syncs well with my food tracking app LoseIt. That's a huge part for those who want to control their weight

    Thanks for this. I'm trying to decide which one to get. I'm still stuck at the moment, but you gave me a lot of info to work with!
    Update: I went with the Galaxy Fit and overall am very pleased. The find my phone feature is helpful for me. Display is lovely. Love being able to adjust the brightness. Having 10 exercises saved is very convenient. My only complaint is I can't get it to change the distance from km to miles (I see others online had the same problem). It doesn't bother me too much but I am more use to miles for distance.

      How do you find sleep and heart rate accuracy?

    • @caitieeeeeeee
      @caitieeeeeeee 4 роки тому +5

      @@gooddaymate1171 they seem very accurate. The sleep monitoring seems to pick up even when I wake up just for a minute. It's helped me stay on a consistent sleep schedule. For the heart rate- my mom had a cardiovascular event recently (arrythmia and tachycardia, she's ok) and I put my watch on her and changed the settings to constant monitor (I usually have it set for every 10 minutes) I was surprised how well the constant monitor worked. I figured "constant" really meant like every 15 seconds but no it was keeping track every second.

    Mike, thank you for the great review! I'm actually trying to choose between Inspire, Galaxy fit and Xiaomi Mi Band 4 now. I used to have Fitbit Charge, then Fitbit Alta, and was about to get Inspire as well, but looks like Samsung might be a better choice. Does any of them track power training? Besides, do they track floors? Charge could do that, but in Alta for some reason this feature was missing to my frustration.

    Galaxy Fit without a doubt.I have a galaxy fit and my sister has the Fitbit so i borrowed it for a month. And i have to say the galaxy fit just has a more premium look to it and its screen just seems more crisp. And the user interface is also a little more user friendly compared to the fitbit. Lastly the screen sensitivity is super good i barely have to swipe or tap twice at any point of time.

    The differences for me are: (1) In Malaysia the Fitbit Inspire HR is 3 times the price of Galaxy Fit. (2) Although the former is pricier here the features are very basic and less aesthetic. (3) The Galaxy Fit doesn't come off easily because of the snug fit. The band for my Fitbit kept coming off. (4) Fitbit served me at least 1 year before it went crazy (froze! no amount of restarting unfreeze it! But it's OK now on its own after being "dead" for almost 2 weeks!). My Galaxy Fit is at the service centre after only 3 days! (5) In my opinion the Fitbit Inspire is a bit more accurate in its calorie tracking.

    Believe it or not, I have a Fitbit, but I have no interest in exercise! Yikes! I bought it for one reason - I can keep my cell in my purse on 'mute' and still know when I get a call. I do volunteer work (I am retired) and we do not take calls while with a client.
    My one problem is that on the Fitbit, it will vibrate on my wrist but most of the time the notification disappears before I can read it.

    The best non-pro review of the Fitbit on the web. And non-pro is usually what you want with something personal and you something you wear. Day-to-day usability over lab tests though there is a place for lab tests. Not mentioned much: the actual app, website, paid versions and linking to other fitness sites (e.g. food / diet apps). You are marrying into a fitness family because you want your data in one place even when you upgrade your device. Choosing Fitbit or Samsung now probably means a 5-year commitment for most people if you actually use the app data. The device may be less important the the ecosystem.

    after reading some reviews from people who had issues with the band on the Samsung model being so fragile, I think I might go with the fitbit. I really prefer the Samsung one in every way, display and features are so much better, but if the band isn't going to hold up and is so difficult to secure every day, then it's not worth it.

      @@glovedcop69 After doing some research on youtube, I bought a Xiaomi Mi Band 4 (Global Version) on Amazon for $38. the XMB4 not a well-known brand. Many videos compare the XMB to the more expensive Galaxy Fit, and the Fitbit HR Inspire, which are both more than twice as much.
      For me the Mi band works great, I am not an athlete, but working on getting back into shape and losing some weight, so I am more interested in tracking my steps/activity on a daily basis, I don't really care about tracking my individual workouts or more specific information.I admit, the Galaxy Fit looks amazing as far as how many activities you can specifically track on it.
      Also the battery life on the XMB is incredible, I charged it when I first started using it 15 days ago, and I am at 55% battery life now.

    Great review and comparison between these two. Wish I got to watch this before I bought my Fitbit, which still does the job for me so no regrets there. The colored screen and 7~ dayish battery life are definitely tempting for me but I'd also wish that the Fitbit had more customisation and widgets to add/remove and more updates for the community. I do like Fitbit's app however since it does show me some useful data that I thought I wouldn't care to look at. How good is the Samsung's app? Any idea if they update it regularly?

    honestly i think the fitbit should have the most credit because for the galaxy fit, it is owned by a phone brand and also that wasnt the best comparaison because the galay fit has more stuff
    i have the charge 3 and i think it will be a great comparaison!

    Samsung fitness trackers are inaccurate for working out. They “look nicer” but It does not account for your heart rate during workouts so calories burned are totally inaccurate.

      The Galaxy fit sensors seem to be more accurate than the previous Samsung watches. HR is accurate within +/-2 BPM based on my testing. I'll be testing it more in a new video this week

    • @jmlgamer6335
      @jmlgamer6335 5 років тому +1

      Mike O'Brien the heart rate monitors themselves are pretty accurate but terrible with weight lifting. Very slow delay. What I’m saying really is your heart rate is not a factor when it comes to calories burned. Try tracking a workout and don’t do anything versus working out and the calories burned will say the same thing based on the type of exercise you select.
