It’s a terrible thing for people to be killed, regardless of who they are. It’s also hard to “trust” what’s being said about people by law enforcement because so many people have been painted as criminals, warrants served (or attempted), and a catastrophe unfolds. Just look at what happened in Little Rock just last month. I’m not sure about this specific situation, but in LR, they showed up at the crack of dawn, in civilian clothes, and performed a no-knock warrant. He wasn’t a hardened criminal, but the director of the Little Rock Airport! To most people, that would for sure seem to be a home invasion; not “the good guys” at your door.
I can understand the dangers of the job because I’ve been there. I served 21 years active duty military and did several deployments and wondered if I would make it home. But we’re not forced to do those jobs, we choose them, and the risk that comes with them. Civilians safety and Constitutional Rights are what we “signed up for”, if that’s not important then it’s the wrong job.
Condolences to all the people who’ve been affected by this. To the media, you need to start ASKING QUESTIONS, if you’re just going to regurgitate what the government says, we don’t need you.
I'm from Arkadelphia area. Was there ever any more information on the situation? What was the warrant for? Was he just defending his home and didn't realize who they were? I never heard anymore
The media has lost it's will to do investigative reporting and it's a quasi military state unfortunately with all the attitutes and abuses that occure to even ordinary and law abiding citizens.

@@alisapirkey2185 yes, there’s a lot more. Appears that he was possibly selling LEGALLY purchased firearms, but he did not have an FFL. It’s not totally clear how or why these were a problem, but apparently he was under investigation for some time and agents had purchased at least one firearm from him. Which if it’s all true, he might have been guilty of some things related to purchasing / selling, but why not just take him into custody on the spot? Or even more, when he was at work? I don’t know, there’s just a lot of questions and unfortunately a wake of destruction in the path of bad decisions and planning.
I think that the militarization of civilian police doesn’t help.
The Little Rock thing was the ATF. These two things ain't the same.

Correct! Most Law Enforcement administrators have no idea how to prepare for such events and they don't care to know. They send their subordinates to arbitrary training with no vetting or understanding of a given courses real world functionality. The only thing they care about is having a worthless certificate stating that training was provided. This ultimately insulates the administrator from any liability if their officer fails to act correctly in the field.

I have frequently wondered why law enforcement does this. Why don't they watch the suspect and when they leave the house follow them and when they are unsuspecting then they could apprehend them. Law enforcement has a long history of doing this very thing and it ends badly so often.

In 2023 there were 1,163 civilians killed by police officers. By contrast there were 136 law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty. The problem is ( and let me state that I believe all life is important ) you never see law enforcement agencies or any of their members giving press conferences asking for thoughts and prayers to be extended to the victims and the families of police brutality.
