Miku didn't want to play guitar. The label wanted a rhythm guitarist and told her that either she or Saiki (lead singer) had to learn or they were going to hire a sixth girl, which she didn't want. So she started learning.
Seems like she likes it now - she certainly has some cool Rockstar Guitarist moves down. It's also really fun for us when she debuts an advancement as an instrumentalist and gets that "I NAILED IT!" smile 😊
WRONG, Akane, MISA and Kanami after rehearsing the beginning told Miku 2 things. Her voice was too soft to front the band with the music she wanted to perform. Second, the band needed a fuller sound, a rhythm guitar. So Miku did 2 things, she tricked Saiki into joining the band. Miku did not want another member, so she told them she would learn to play the guitar if Kanami would be her sensei.
