If you are thinking about getting the Mecpow X5 (available only in the EU) this is the time to get it! Now it's €459 including the 650x650 Honeycomb bed (value of €80) and you can now get Lightburn for basically free by using the coupon 12ANNIE1 for a further reduction of €50. The list price of this Laser Engraver is €646, but I usually see it at €499. With the bed and Lightburn the regular price for this starting kit would be €633, now you can get it for just €480! (free shipping, no customs, tax) Link in the description ↑
Update on T300, the rail was bent and the barring carriage was bad… it burned out the Y motor which was the cause of my layer shifts. So cost me $$60 (24 for LDO motor upgrade, 35 for upgraded rail) to get it printing no thanks to Sovol, But I am excited to finally start printing with the machine. ❤ I appreciate your help with the other details on the connection of the Z-axis and Z-tilt. Reverse engineer them helped a lot with understanding customizing klipper and troubleshooting on that new-to-me platform.
Congrats on fixing your printer. I love my T300, especially after bridging the z-axes. Even before it was my quickest machine to start printing, but now that it doesn't need z-tilt correction I can turn it on and 120 seconds later it is literally printing what I send to it. Not just start the pre-print procedure, but actually laying down the first layer. Nothing comes close. I am sorry it took you this extra effort to get yours sorted out, but I think this printer is so robust it should last the longest.
cool video, I am saving to convert my old ender 3d printer into a laser cutter. A really interesting project would be to make PCBs using the engraver, do you think it will be good enough, then the copper can be etched away. Im not sure whether its possible though
Really not sure about copper. I am a beginner in this. I was surprised how well it was able to etch that stainless steel knife. After my 3W I expected only faint markings, and it turned out pretty dark at 2:32
Easily! The side panels are around 450x450mm, and this machine is capable of 598x598mm. The main issue is that this is a diode laser, so it won't be able to cut transparent acrylic. However, it will work perfectly with colored acrylic or other materials. I'm planning to get the official (Sovol) panels when they become available. Until then, I might collect some election posters (we have EU elections next week) and use the white plastic boards. I'll go out that evening and gather as many as I can! These would make great panels for the SV08 too. Just don't judge me by all the politician faces on my printer! :)
Hi... THANKS for the distraction. Credit card immediately had the SV08 "hole"... BUT SOVOL didn't even send an email with so much as a hint of a shipment date... 😮 Those Laser engraver thingies... are getting too dangerous for my taste. Spent same € for safety measures. Please take care of your eyes&lung .
Thank you for the caution. I try to be safe, but I need to learn much more. Wood smells nice, but I know it's still not good for our lungs. Especially the plywood with the glue inside. I guess the most important next step is an enclosure both for fumes and light protection.

Great in-depth video! I look forward to more videos like this (and eagerly awaiting my SV08, lol) Thanks so much!

@@gerGoPrint3D I also have a renewed hope I can upgrade and maintain it longer because of klipper so it will be a work-horse for a long time. 👍

@@gerGoPrint3D cool, i cant wait to get one too
That's a fairly large machine. Large enough to cut acrylic panels for the SV08 maybe?
