Interesting video Alfred and well done to your problem solving skills. I have the same problem with the microwave and fridge door. Will be dealing directly with Dometic and a registered service agent. Had someone look at in Broome. He said the DLugs on the strips are flimsy and a common issue. All mine are broken.
Thanks Alfred for such a comprehensive report on your issues and your fixes . Unfortunately it does not leave me with a lot of confidence in the ability of the manufacturer of an expensive off road caravan . When we get our Hurricane we will be going over it in detail to ensure everything is done as it should be . Travelled with a friend with a Chameleon Liberty for three months and learnt of his many fixes of things that Crusader did not do or not well enough. Forewarned with what we have learnt from your experiences and his also we will be checking ours out comprehensively before we leave the dealer . Thankyou .
@@philreid4966 yes you need to go thru everything with a fine tooth comb and not accept it as is. Our van was delayed twice and we had to cancel so many prime site bookings and when it arrived 2 weeks before the third set of bookings we decided to take the van as was and sort it along the way. I have reported all the hand over issues to the factory and I just hope they come to the party.
Hi Tiny, I find your videos very helpful. I’ve learned a lot about the construction of the vans and simple things like where to spray WD40 on a regular basis is helpful to me. Also what areas of our new Esperance to monitor for change. Thanks for your time sharing your experience.
@@GayleBosworth I don’t know much about the Esperance but I suspect that the vans are similar. I suggest checking that all the screws used in the van and make sure they are tight. Don’t over tighten them as the wood used in the cabinets is very soft, butter still loctite all the screws that go into cabinetry with wood loctite.
Thanks Alfred. My shower door was catching on the lower corner also and was becoming a little annoying. The weight of the door is taken on the lower pivot. I made a plastic washer with a cut from edge to centre then lifted the door a little and pushed the washer on to the lower pivot. The washer is about 20 mm diameter, about 1 mm thick with a 5 mm hole. Seems to be working for me!😀
I have just sat and watched your video Alfred and spent most of the time just shaking my head ! You are such a patient man, really good that you have problem solved so many fixes yourself and not let it spoil your trip. I hope there isn’t much more that can actually break or come adrift 🫣 Yes we drive on unsealed ,rough roads and tracks, but as you say…that’s what the caravan was supposedly built to withstand …that’s why they are so bl***y expensive ! Really good that you are video documenting all the faults as you go too.
@@chrismutch5990 cheers Chris, it’s all for when we get older and can’t travel like this anymore, then there will be so many good memories to look back on.
Thanks for sharing its been really helpful for us as new owners as to what to watch out for.
Thanks for t he update, it's good for preventative maintenance

Cheers! I will try that! My top pivot hinge has some play, is that normal? does yours have it too?
@@TinyOnTour-bm7td My top pivot does not have any play. I wonder how those little pivot bushings come out.
@@kooraka sadly mine has quite a lot of sideways play
