As an indie filmmaker, I prefer the a6000 as the extra cash can go into rigging it up. People always think of spending more to upgrade as "its only a couple hundred dollars more for the a6400" but what they miss is that you can use that extra cash on more important things. The money difference can get you a decent external monitor which is far better than the stock EVF.
First time viewer and had to subscribe as well as like. I have the 6000 and sorry to say have not used it as much as I should but your video made me feel comfortable about getting a view more years out of it. The video with side by side views was really well done. Great work and appreciate you putting this out. It was very informative and honest.
I recently discovered an advantage that the a6000 has over the a6400. I own both. Imaging edge supports touch focus on my smartphone for the a6000. the a6400 does not. My guess is that this is because Sony considered it redundant to have touch screen capabilities on both the phone and the camera for the a6400. But where it comes to macro photography having touch focus on my phone is very important. This allows me to set up my a6000 on a short tripod out in the field. Then while standing upright, I can then make multiple exposures at various focusing distances by touching my smartphone screen to different parts of the subject and then focus stacking them. This save me a lot of back aches.
Hey man! Thanks for this review. This gives me an idea if I should still buy these cameras this 2020. Looking forward to more content from you soon 🙌🏼🔥
yo akash! Thanks for this, i love the a6400 but since starter for cameras i might be going with a6000. Also, love your style and I hope to see you with atleast 100k subs in the next 2 years but you gotta keep going!
How relevant is this camera for photography after 7 years(!!!!!) Well, the A6000 is still relevant! I was thinking of upgrading. But after I saw the specs. The only things I noticed was the focus points which are alot more on the A6400. And the better video camera. ( I never use my camera to film) The flip screen is nice for selfie pictures... but is it necessary...?
Top class review Akash. I had the A6400 and sold it. I'm now thinking of a lower budget so maybe I'll go for the A6000 this time and pick up a Sony 35mm f1.8 lens with the saving. That should do me nicely!

Hi, thanks for the video, i would like to record video like this video sitting back on a desk a talk about something, i would like to know what is the camera and the lens which you have used for this video and also wanna know if alpha 6000 is ok for that kind of shooting, what about alpha 6000 and a prime lens not the kit lens...
Hi there I just checked your channel and yes I think a6000 will be perfect for you because in sports the demand for slow motion is very lil so 60p will do just fine for you! So I’d say get the a6000 and later in the future if you’d like to upgrade get the full frame:)
@@medisadivinebody8444 you’re welcome:) yes the camera kit comes with a 16-50mm pancake lens which is very lightweight and overall good lens. But you’d like to go a lil wider get the 10-18 it’s a bit on expensive side but well worth the money. Also lenses don’t loose value so even after extensive use you can sell it and make the money back.
I'm here becasue I have a 6400 and a 6000 and.I wanted to learn about multi-camera shooting and if the 1080 in the 6000 as 2nd camera would be a problem with the 64000 4k when editing.
Hi William, I hope you're doing great! You need to keep in mind that the resolution is different as long as you're outputing a 1080p video there shouldn't be any problems. You can output a 4k file though but it would be upscaled you might notice in post that your 1080p image is softer. Just scale to frame size for 4k clips while editing.
@@akashcheema1664 Thank you, Akash, the same to you! I like to avoid adding to editing. If I were to record both in 1080p which camera do you think has the better 1080p video quality?
Aside from build quality, I would say the Sony a6400 is more convenient: flip up screen, audio jack and a little better AF makes it comfortable to use. Is it worth twice the price? I would say unless you shoot pets/animals you don't need a6400 for photography use. For videography, it depends if you need flip up screen, slow motion, or that mic input. A6000 is just amazing.
I have played around with the a6400 in stores and really want to pull the trigger. However, my a6000 is special to me as I shot an indie feature with it back in 2016. I have learned that camera inside and out and rigged it out nicely. The a6400 could fit with all of the accessories I already have which is nice but I am curious if the color science is really that much better on the a6400? I don't need the mic jack as I use a Tascam dr60D for audio. I mainly am looking for better color science and 4k to super sample down to FHD. So what are your thoughts of a6400 color vs a6000?
Hi brother. M a beginner photographer. And I wana buy a camera for still photography.. M not taking it as a profession or something like that. Just need a camera for taking pictures on trips. Which one would u recommend? M confused between two. Nikon d5600 or Sony a6000? Thanks in advance.
Hi there, thanks for commenting. I'd recommend going for the sony a6000, First off its a mirrorless camera so it weighs less then that of Nikon if you're planning to travel with it. Also in my personal opinion I think the sony has a lil sharper image too!
Planning to buy a new camera as beginner... A6000 with 2 kit lenses at $850 (16-50mm and 55-210mm) or 1 kit lens at $550 (16-50mm) is a good deal? I wanted to mostly use it for Landscapes and portraits.
Invest in a prime lens it's much more useful I have the 16-50 and 55-210 but this year I got a 35mm lens and I think it's much more better than 55-210. You should definitely have 16-50 as its sharp and good kit lens.As a secondary lens go for 50mm I think it will be in your budget
@@architpandey7316 Archit is correct that prime lenses will be a win over the kit zooms. I loved the "nifty fifty" low light lens for $250. If you go for a zoom, save your pennies for the 18-105. I have that zoom and it is nice...light years better than the kit zooms.
