Things I love about your videos:. Your laughter (especially when something gets goofed up!), your personality, your clear instructions, your handy hints (such as,DO press this or you will be sorry) and I do this, but you don't have to! Things I don't like about your videos: when you say bad things about yourself, (I'm not good at...) and I can't hug you!!! Thanks for sharing. Hugs, B

I never say bad things about myself. I only say the truth. There is nothing wrong with not being good at something. That's not bad! It's all good! That's how I like to see it. We can't be good at everything. I don't even want to try. LOL

Great tutorial series! I love your style and how you don't really use pins or measure too much. Very relaxing sewing time. I've put you on my weekly UA-cam watch list because you're so "real" about everything. Keep doin' what you do. Thanks!

I have started a Darlene Michaud projects scrap book of all my favorite tutorials, complete with instructions and diagrams.
So far, I have 22 tutorials! 😊 My plan is to use this scrap book to teach my grand daughter how to quilt and crochet and
show her that perfection is for the birds! You can still have beautiful pieces that you can be proud of. I'm so glad I stumbled
onto your web page.....thank you! thank you! thank you! 👵🏻

Hello Darlene, I want to say that this tote tutorial is the best I have seen, I have watched many and yours is so easy to follow, especially making the strap and attaching the strap and lining. I love your way, easy going and fun. ohh and your Machine, they are the best, I am in Australia and I have quite a collection of vintage sewing machines and I especially love the 400 series, any way getting back to sewing, I can't wait to check out the rest of your video tutorials. I am by far no expert on sewing and you make it accessible for anyone to have ago.

Darlene, thank you for this fun tutorial. I have been hoarding my scraps for a while with the intention of making a bag but unsure as to how to go about it. The great thing is you can use these panels in almost anything! Think I'm gonna make a wallet next. You are so much FUN!

I LOVE your bag! I haven't sewn in ages, but you make me want to get my sewing machine out!
Love your enthusiasm & sense of humour, loving what you are doing too! :)
I'm going to have to dust off the old sewing machine & try this!
Thank you for sharing! What a REALLY cute bag! I wasn't so sure when I saw the mismatched colors, but it turned out SO ADORABLE!!!
I've gotta look for my next coupons at JoAnn's (& check out your other videos too!) I got the craft bug about 18 months ago, & my office/studio is turning into a craft room now too! :) SO much fun!
This would make an adorable beach bag!

Hi Darlene! Thank you so much for this series of tutorials. You have such a fun way to teach. I am cleaning the hot glue gun and glitter off of my craft table right now so I can get my sewing machine set up. (I just finished a glittery, glue project this morning.) I'm going to keep this video queued up on my computer so I can refer back to it if I need to. Wish me luck.........

I just finished watching the tote tutorials, omg, I need to make some for my Red Hat Sisters, and I just bought as assortment of reds and purple materials, ( I made a small tote and had it with me at our last meeting, but unfortunately I can't get that material any longer, a novelty red hat society fabric). So I love this idea of incorporating all these fabrics I just bought. I did have some scraps of the red hat material, so I will cut it and use it as my starting piece. So many ideas going through my head right now for projects. I love your sense of humor too. Makes it fun to watch your videos. I have never done quilt blocks this way, but I will start now, the possibilities of using so many fabrics on the same project, love it. I have loads of fabric. (Too much if you ask my husband). But what a super way to start using some of them up by making totes. I myself prefer a boxed corner, which I am sure you could easily do once the bag is finished. Great tutorials Darlene. Thank you so much for the inspiration!

Darlene is the Mark Bittman of crazy quilters. You can use the same recipe in a variety of ways. Nothing has to be perfect. Everything can fit. You don't have to stress out about fabric or seams. You can use a rotary cutter or a pair of scissors. You can cut a five sided shape without a template. You can use your eye or a ruler. You can draw a line or not. Basically, if you watch the video and have an idea where you want to end up, it works out. Thank you, Darlene.

Well I made one, wish I could show you, but I don't have the means to do so at this moment. I made lots of mistakes. I covered up a lot of mistakes and my lining was a little smaller than my bag, so there is a fold on the upper rim. I am going to cover it up with a fabric flower. I hope it works. I am going to keep making them until I get it right. That's just the way I am. Your's will always be awesome to me. Thanks
