I have dyslexia and they didn't figure it out until I was like 13 years old and thank goodness my parents could afford a tutor so that helped and I enjoy reading now, but I still like to read what I want to read abd not what other people tell me to read, but that didn't help my self-esteem and it still hurts to think about some of the way teachers and students treated me in school. It took a long time for me to love myself and I'm sure that may have had something to do with it.
