Sister Wives for me is a “Social Research” as a Social Worker/Sociologist, I lived in a town that has a polygamist community within its boundaries. I worked with many of the teenagers from this community, back in the 1980’s and 1990’s.

Yep. My theory for months. 1) TLC wants me to quit watching (which I have). 2) TLC hasnt had a crew or decent editors since covid. 3) TLC thinks I have alzheimers and want to constantly remind me how twisted K, R, and Meri are.

I think the mean girl episode where Robyn & daughters went to see Janelle and Savannah’s RV demonstrates why Savannah is uncomfortable around Breanna at least. The rude, put-down comments of Breanna had to have hurt Savannah deeply. Robyn said nothing in response to correct her daughter. Im team Savannah on this. Just my opinion.

Mykelti is a grade A,number 1,100% fence rider. She's fine with the Pateron paying her bills by giving Kody and Robyn's prespective and taking vacations with her mama,mama new hubby and her siblings that her mom and new stepdad pay for! Let's not get it twisted. Mykelti and Tony are two unemployed freeloaders with three kids and they are using their status on this show to keep the graveytrain moving down the tracks. Yes,Maddie uses the Sister Wives thing to sell Plexus but Tony basically quit his job because he wants to be a professional gamer and they are fine with siding with Kody when it suits them,defending Robyn when it suits them and taking vacations with Christine and David when it suits them!
Kody didn’t agree right away to having dinner with Meri because he had to ask his wife, Robyn, if he could go to dinner with another woman.

We did learn for realz that the worst husband in the world wanted Meri to hide the fact they were separated to save his poor wittle feelings.
Its gross but not surprising, he's all about his ego, and he especially didn't want people to know he failed as a husband and more so a polygamist, even though we all as viewers saw over and over - He really thinks we're stupid watching it
I did think the scene of teaching Truely to ride a bike with all the family encouraging her was very sweet, vs. when Kody tried to teach her ignoring Truelys saying she didn’t want to, she didn’t feel safe and supported by Kody
Mitch was a wonderful teaching Truly how to ride a bicycle.
I wouldn't have bought her a new bike until she learned on a loaner. She might never feel comfortable riding one and that's OK. 😏
I think Savannah not getting a gift or a call at Christmas is now totally explained. Savannah is the bad guy with the ignoring between Breanna and Savannah so she is going to be punished
That is absolutely something Robbed’em would do… be cruel to the OG wives’ children. That is probably why Savanna has been cut off from Kody. Robbed’em doesn’t like her anymore.

I think Maddie doesn’t want her children to experience the same neglect that she and her siblings have experienced from Kody. And based on how little Kody said about the situation when her daughter had her leg amputated, I doubt he actually reached out and showed any genuine concern at the time.
Kody told Meri to her face on their 30th anniversary when she said that she was waiting for him, and he told her, "I'm not comin'!"
Everyone should refuse to watch next weeks episode until TLC edits and gets us caught up immediately

Breanna showed last episode that she has an identical set of Robyn's traits. Should be a training video for family therapists to watch-- mother and daughter winding themselves up, side-by-side videos.
It’s very clear the producer is doing the best possible with what little filming has taken place. I also wonder if Kody has any say in what footage is used. They are using a lot of filming from previous seasons to fill in the gaps.
Isabelle looks miserable, but was there for her sister. Truly seemed to be making the best of it and everyone else seemed to be counting down the time until the visitors would leave.
We’re all are waiting on Janelle and Mary to leave Cody, we don’t care about the other BS

I agree with your explanation/assessment of the relationship between Savannah and Brianna is accurate. I feel the same way. And I agree it was the relationship between these girls that caused Savannah to be left out at Christmas.

It’s not necessarily boring but it’s super frustrating that TLC is stretching all the episodes. They make it seem like a scene will be there the next week then there is nothing the next episode. TLC is doing us dirty with deceptive editing!

When Breanna spoke it was very clear that Kody projects about all that "shit talk" stuff. Clearly they've planted this stuff in the kid's heads because how the hell is she mad at Savannah?!
The big difference is Christine had the money from her house to escape with. Janelle doesn't have that option. Her money is in Coyote Pass and Robyn's house.

The part where Robin was talking about how sweet it was that Truly doesn’t remember a time before her turned my stomach. Truly didn’t get the great dad that the older kids knew and enjoyed. The involved dad who made time for all 3 wives (allegedly). That’s disgusting 🤢🥺
Isn’t it strange the parallels between Kody saying “Christine was telling everyone she wanted to leave me, but she never told me”. Now Meri is saying “He never has said these things to me”. However, he has been saying it for years and years to anyone who would listen, including us. Were they both in the throes of denial?? Usually, Meri is not a sympathetic character, but my heart broke for her as she recounted his conversation.
I'm still not sympathetic towards Meri. He told her the last two embarrassing times she forced him to take her out on their no longer anniversary that A. He's "not coming" to her waiting and B. He's basically disgusted/repulsed by her. The "work it out in our own way," UMM you have worked NOTHING out wtfff?! About the denial, a couple episodes back remember Kody basically said Meri is in deep denial, and as long as she is he will be in denial too. I don't think that is right nor him once again dragging her into perpetual human punchbag hell with the utter audacity to ask her to keep it private because he can't take anymore public criticism! Christine saying she promises to stay with them all - for this show - even after marrying the guy with 8 kids ( legally) .. tells us the reality script is in tact. Kody using LLC’s - I have to ask TLC - did they all use a LLC with their contract , tax payer id?
If Kody thinks his LLC opened last year ? Vs recently - in Robyn’s name will save their home , litigation, irs benefits as they write off part of Robyn’s home - I hope he recorded all the legal advise given . Our president Mr Trump has educated us that lawyers can be bought & in place to set up the chosen target.
I found it interesting that Merri’s friend / b n b employee having Sullivan as a last name & Robyn having Sullivan.. especially when Robin was caught on a recording speaking of Robyn & the children doing work for Meri’s clothing biz ( under the table wages).
Meri has said many things that seem to be her attempting to avoid legal inquiries. Meri seems to also observe how Kody is setting her up after years where they all played along with a united business plan.

In their religious beliefs a man that leaves his wives will not reach the special room in heaven and become a god over his family. Meri is brought up in that belief as a child so this is her punishment to Kody because he doesn’t want to be with her. Now when he says he doesn’t want a relationship with her he just said to God that he doesn’t want a place in that special room

Savannah is definitely not the problem. It's Breanna--which is of course Kody & Robyn's doing.
Not to encourage nursing grievances, but if I were Maddie I would stil not be over Kody calling Janell's trip to the hospital for Evie's leg amputation a "vacation". I have also speculated Robyn was jealous of Kody's feelings for Janell and found a destructive avenue by going after their kids. I do not think a component of Kody's anger at his sons was them recognizing Robyn is in charge because that would require Kody to comprehend Robyn is his handler. She makes him think her ideas are his ideas and sick him on her targets. Is there hope for Breanna? Is she doomed to be Robyn 2.0? Let's hope college helps. Lastly, this TLC device of presenting R&K as the Romeo and Juliet of reality tv is bizarre. It gives me whiplash to hear Kody say Sobyn is the love of his life and in the next breath say he wants to reconcile with Janell.
Not only that but Kody didn't help move Ysabel to Maddies house. He had a opportunity to visit her and her kids and chose NOT to because of Robyn and her kids. That's not something Maddie will just get over.

All that and I still hear some UA-camrs say she's the intelligent, independent, $$$ smart one. No she is not. How did she give Christine sound advice to get her 💵 💰/affairs in order before leaving whilst screwing herself in the process??

This guy was clever enough to bamboozle three women into sticking by his loser side while they raised their kids on state aid and food stamps. Janelle isn’t smart. The jerk could have forced all the women into an iron clad contract that basically made him king of the pile… for the entire duration of the show.
I’m with you about all the clips from old episodes! I’ve already seen that too. It’s crazy that most of the show is old stuff. I want new stuff. It would also be nice if they would skip the old clips and get up to date. It gets confusing because the time line sucks and so does the editing. I’m almost ready to just watch your recaps and stop watching the show!

They should have called this episode the LAZY episode.
Is it possible that tlc has left the entire production to the Browns? I mean it’s like the pilot evacuated a long time ago thinking the Browns could land the plane when they’re literally just crashing to the ground.
These new season really make me want to rewatch the episodes where kids from The Order and FLDS spend time with the Browns. All of the things they were talking about (neglect, food insecurity, parental abandonment, the marital issues) were all things the Brown’s denied but we find out now has been going on the whole time.
That is also the episode that Robin yells at someone not to make her a victim.
I haven’t watched your recap yet, but I just finished watching this week’s episode and I had to point out when Makelti announced her pregnancy, Yasbel was trying to hug her and she kept backing up. Yasbel put her arm around her and she shrugged it off. Am I the only one who noticed?

The timeline is wild. Truley's birthday is in early April, then its easter, then Christine's birthday, immediately followed by Meri's anniversary. After that, in May, is Janelle's birthday.

Filler flashback episode 🛌🏻. Though I will say that overall this has been my favorite season. I don't care about watching all the cheap bits like Easter egg hunts or ATV rides. I want that talking head tea spillage! 😈
Not only was it a clip show, but ( off topic) I was so shook about Mathew Perry 😢 that I could hardly pay attention to the episode or lack thereof. I noticed Robyn was the only one to cry when they had a whole ceremony for their mission statement, that felt super fake

your comments about the obvious repetitions, replays and banal story line is spot on. We used to look forward to an episode, now, I yawn knowing not much progress will be made. How many episodes has Meri debated if she should leave Koty or "does Koty love me" , watching Robyn pout and cry, same with Janelle "do I stay or do I go" --the last 3-4 episodes could have been condensed into 1 episode. Nothing of interest. And the show is now so dated and jumps from easter to spring, to fall. The family is perhaps showing their true colors - they're banal, lack substance, and have nothing to say. I'm sick of the Koty show which is a broken record, watching episodes of children being born 10 years ago, watching people paint eggs, learn how to ride bikes, and sit outside on swings. TLC should be embarrassed at this season's production.

Savannah is one of those people who dont talk a lot but when they do everyone listens because its well thought out and seldom that they say anything
Not paying off the land is a standoff. Kody is waiting for someone else to use their personal money to pay it off. He does not want to use his money or "family money" that he could spend elsewhere. He is waiting & hoping that Janelle will get frustrated with not being out there & will pay a large portion of it off or that he can entice Meri to contribute more with false promises.
The deeds changed when the property was paid off. Janelle's name is now on more of the lots. So, I am guessing that she did pay off most of it.
I really hope Jenelle is able to get all of the land transferred into her name alone. She would actually cultivate the property and make it a thriving homebase for the family. If K and R ever get around to building on it, it will be just theirs, not even reluctant sharing with the rest of the family.

I think you are correct, Sobyn is scared of Janelle. Not only is she smart, educated and successful in business but Kody seems to really be attracted to her. He never cut her off like Meri and Christine. Not until they blew up.

There was talk from Gwen that they tried to integrate all of Robins kids in the way they knew how, rough playing etc.. and robin had a problem with that and her eldest son very early on. I suspect the older boys and her son didn’t hit it off and she took it too heart

They showed Meri saying the same things and telling the same story repeatedly and Kooty and Sobyn did their usual fakey fake, shifting blame etc. stuff. Yes repetitive and boring. They just wanted to stretch to final confrontation until next week. Blech. I will say that I personally enjoy the family stuff with the og wives and kids. That’s why I watch. If K&R continue to be a part of the show after this season I will be done. K&R need to fired! IMO
I watched and was thinking the same thing about the redundancy of this episode. How many ways can Kody tell Meri to get lost? How many ways can Meri say she thinks Kody doesn’t care? Jenelle doesn’t think about Kody much and doesn’t know how long since she’s seen Meri, Robyn, Kody. The only new stuff was Mekelti expecting twins, sweet Truly learning to ride a bike and Robyn and Kody planning to build on Coyote Pass if Jenelle ever quits dragging her feet and pays it off for them.

In one of the early seasons, I remember the TLC camera crew interviewing one of the neighbors. It was when they first moved to the Las Vegas rental homes. They interviewed this guy and he basically said polygamy isn’t love it’s lust. I loved his response. it stuck with me all these years. So so true - that guy saw the writing on the wall.

Omg! My daughter loved Inside Out when it first came out, and she had me watch it with her 30 times. It's honestly my favorite Disney movie with a very good lesson for kids (and adults, honestly) 💛

Hated this episode. Literally the only good thing was knowing that I’d be able to watch your recap the next day-you two are the best! I think you are exactly right about fewer viewers watching the last several episodes of the season. Since Janelle & Kody’s big argument, nothing new! Hoping Ep. 12 will actually show the confrontation among Meri, Kody, and Robyn!!

Christine was very pregnant in the Kody and Robyn wedding pics…also Kody showed up late for Truly’s birth because he had to run by and kiss Robyn. Another thought Kody was texting Robyn in the clip of Dr. Bean delivering Truly last night.
Truely was born before the wedding. Truely was newborn when Kody and Robyn went the 11 days for honeymoon.
Truly was less than a month old when they got married I believe.

I call my mom, at 92, every Monday, and other days of the same week. If she calls me I just listen to what ever she wants to talk about.
The only thing I can think of as to why they're jumping around is lack of content, either because their contracts are limited and TLC still needed their show regardless of how much filming they're willing to do - or maybe they still do alot of filming and its just been boring as hell?
I don't watch any of the other shows that you watch/recap, but I enjoy your input on SW. I like your chemistry and John cracks me up😁. At this time, I can't watch the show anymore so I watch the channels who do recaps.
I was super excited before season started but watching it has been underwhelming, to say the least. This season is SO FAR
behind and the footage they ARE showing is SO BORING….the only saving grace are the testimonials, but even those are so calculated.
Now I just feel horrible that Kody is profiting off hurting his family and (as a viewer) I am contributing to that. Ugh. Gross
