Yep, I agree that Christine and Janelle are at the core of The Family. Kody and Robyn have a household off on the side, Meri is off in her own orbit that only crosses paths with the rest once in a while, but Christine and Janelle are at the core of the group of kids of all ages who stay in touch, maintain living relationships, etc. Kody could still be part of that if he’s decided to roll with the punches over the years, but through his increasing insistence on being “Head of Household” he sidelined himself.
Meri is the saddest creature of all. What does she get out of staying with Kody? Life is so short and she's gonna spend her time heartbroken over a man who publicly rejects her. I really hope she and Janelle wake up and follow in Christine's footsteps.

I’m SO hoping for a future scene with Christine and her new husband interacting with the family, and by family, I mean Kody. I can’t imagine how he’d react seeing her happy with a man who acts like a man! Be interesting to watch!
I think Christine went to therapy. The way she is talking about their life ‘looking different’ with confidence and patience is indicative of walking through it with a mental health professional.

She still wanted Kody to love her and spend time with her and she was absolutely miserable. It helped her finally say no to the life Kody was offering.

Why is it that I can see Kody telling Robyn that he thinks Christine has another man and that's why she's leaving because he won't give a disloyal woman,who betrays their intimacy,time with "little Kody"? I look forward to your recaps, but I also watch your videos to see the two of you interact. It is evident that you truly enjoy each other's company and have a respectful partnership. My late husband and I were together for 40 years and had a similar dynamic, so I appreciate seeing it in a younger couple.
I love the longer videos, I always end up laughing about something you or John say and I needed that today so thank you. As for the show, I was so angry yesterday when I watched Kody sit there and flat out lie that Christine had not told him she was moving to Utah. I was even more frustrated that the show didn't go back and put in the clip of her telling him that during the first conversation and then the second conversation they had. He spent years mocking, berating and belittling Christine because she told him that she needed more from the relationship, and now he seems so confused that his refusal to hear what she was saying, has brought them to this point. I don't wish ill on anyone, even Kody, but it would be poetic justice if in 15 years TLC had a "Where are they now" episode of Sister Wives and we see Christine, Jenelle and even Meri living their best lives happy and healthy, away from him and then cut to Kody living in a shack on Coyote pass wondering why his family won't come see him and trying to convince the Prairie Dogs, his only companions, that he's the head of the family and they have to 'comply'. There are consequences to actions and I think some day Kody will discover what his are.
Janelle's youngest is Savannah and I have to say I was glad I was not the only one morally outraged over the damn stupid comments about,"Does she have another man?" because i look at it like this. Christine and Kody's relationship is so toxic that Christine probably feels it is far,far better to get Truely away from that before Truely starts to see Kody the way Gwendolyn and Ysabel do. Just watched you guys for the first time and I'm hooked! Love your humor, your dynamics, the side stories and your opinions, whether on this rocky horror family show named "Sister Wives" or on general topics (health care!). I'm almost ashamed to confess that I've been following the show for a year or so, but it's just like a psychology accident on the highway that you just can't look away from. By the way, one of the most "hilarious" moments of the episode was when Kody said something like "(Christine) didn't ask me whether she can move, she just decided! She didn't ask me, when she threw me out of her bedroom, she just put my stuff in the garage!..." EXCUSE ME?!!! (that was me yelling at a youtube-video).
That was hilarious. Yes, that's the problem, you gave your wives some independence. Now you need to take control.... after most of your kids are 18+, so there is less people to gang up on you.
The look on Robin's face when he made that comment about submitting to the patriarchy was priceless. I'm sure she didn't intend to show her disapproval with her body language.
Like I was telling you on twitter, I think the other wives reactions(meri and robyn) were solely based on the fact that by Christine leaving she's ruining their destiny into heaven, I believe they believe that and thats really why they're mad, and Robyn basically panicking if theyre sure this is happening or not, I believe the reason Kody acted like they hadnt had the conversation about taking truely or that he was ok with it when they did talk, is because he also said he didnt want to have the conversation with the other wives at all because he'd look weak, I think he was mad because Christine made him look like he wasnt in control in front of them - and dont even get me started on the end with the "patriarchy" crap - he did say unless people are going to obey and respect him he just wont get them together, and my guess is thats exactly whats going on now, everyone is just doing their own thing(going on trips together etc) Im sure Kody is fuming about how he's looking lol
I have always thought that Kory was done with Meri when she bought the B&B on her own. He cannot forgive that. He could have used that money to get more wives and children.

They will lose the TLC money if Christine won't do the show anymore. She would probably do well with her own show. Meri may start losing her social media standing, therefore losing her lularue income if the show is canceled. Janelle will start planting her garden on the property and be happy.
You gotta check out both subreddits for Sister Wives. It has so many time people have documented where Christine tried to offer to take care of the kids and where she's been so supportive.

We lived in an old R.V for 2 years. Luckily it was at an R.V park. But the Winter snow months did make it hard. Not the cold, but the ability to get around the snow. Otherwise it was pretty fun getting to know the people in the park.

You guys are great! I have watched sporadically over the years and I think Christine and Janelle are the base of the family. They keep plodding along with Janelle working and Christine taking care of the kids. Meanwhile, Kody is blind to everything and everyone strutting around like a rooster in the hen house(s). He loves his cars. Meri falls by the wayside as Kody gets bored and looks for fresh meat, aka Robyn. The whole dynamic changes when Robyn joins the family. She's younger, slim, does her hair, does not dress weird, and keeps Meathead's attention. This"family" implodes due to Kody's inability to take care of everyone and his immaturity. He's not the sultan that he thinks he is. He's also not the sharpest pin in the pin cushion.
Nikki mocking Kody has me dying of laughter because that is exactly how he looks when he is defensive. But yeah, that dictatorship is not going to work with Janelle. Janelle is the type where she only going to put up with so much. I think to protect the family she would leave Kody, but she won't blast him like Christine did because sadly she still thinks Kody deserves not to look bad. Which he deserves it. This " what about my daughter!" no one is buying that. Him crying about Isabelle leaving just to cut her off in the couple of episodes shows he doesn't care about his kids.

So Mary buying a bed and breakfast had to be a huge family decision/discussion, but Janelle buying a huge trailer is okay to do without discussing it with anyone?
Back then they were still trying to pretend to be a family and I think the biggest reason it was a family discussion is because meri wanted to use some family money but kody said sure but then we have sat and are part owner and meri was like heck no it’s mine I will find the money somewhere else and she did. She should leave and we all say she lets kody walk all over her. But she was smart to not take the money from kody because he wanted to own/control the B&B. And she knew that was not a good idea
Meri was asking for help with money. Jannelle had what was left of her money after helping Robyn with her house to but my the RV. She was trying not to spend more money so she could build. But the truth was Kody knew they had to get permits and bring electric, gas , water to the lots which took money and he said the lots have to be paid which is bullshit. Jannelle always made decisions by herself bc Kody was never available.
2 things. Why didn't Janelle move in with Robyn in her million dollar home for a few months? Also, why didn't Janelle help Christine out at night when she had to work and they all lived in one house? I like Janelle alot, just thought about it. I agree about them pretending for the show, they wanted that huge house. Robyn didn't need a house that big.
Janelle had said she is not a mothering type of person. Christine raised Janelle's kids because Janelle worked and Christine's kids were similar age. By the time Robyn had kids, Christine was done raising kids. She started working or whatever she was doing.

On Christine's bankruptcy she states that she received welfare, and didn't live with the father. This episode really made me mad, Meri stating that Christine puts on a good front was bitter and angry in Lehi. Kody wondering what man Christine has to make her want to leave. The gaslighting and culty vibe of this episode was annoying.

I think Robyn knew the details BUT filtered through Kody so she didn’t know it was final because apparently Kody didn’t understand it is final.
Why is it that I can see Kody telling Robyn that he thinks Christine has another man and that's why she's leaving because he won't give a disloyal woman,who betrays their intimacy,time with "little Kody"? I just imagine Robyn has to spend a lot of time "obeying the patriarchy" in order to rebuild this pathetic excuse for a man's shattered ego.

I look forward to your recaps, but I also watch your videos to see the two of you interact. It is evident that you truly enjoy each other's company and have a respectful partnership. My late husband and I were together for 40 years and had a similar dynamic, so I appreciate seeing it in a younger couple.
I love the longer videos, I always end up laughing about something you or John say and I needed that today so thank you. As for the show, I was so angry yesterday when I watched Kody sit there and flat out lie that Christine had not told him she was moving to Utah. I was even more frustrated that the show didn't go back and put in the clip of her telling him that during the first conversation and then the second conversation they had. He spent years mocking, berating and belittling Christine because she told him that she needed more from the relationship, and now he seems so confused that his refusal to hear what she was saying, has brought them to this point. I don't wish ill on anyone, even Kody, but it would be poetic justice if in 15 years TLC had a "Where are they now" episode of Sister Wives and we see Christine, Jenelle and even Meri living their best lives happy and healthy, away from him and then cut to Kody living in a shack on Coyote pass wondering why his family won't come see him and trying to convince the Prairie Dogs, his only companions, that he's the head of the family and they have to 'comply'. There are consequences to actions and I think some day Kody will discover what his are.
Janelle's youngest is Savannah and I have to say I was glad I was not the only one morally outraged over the damn stupid comments about,"Does she have another man?" because i look at it like this. Christine and Kody's relationship is so toxic that Christine probably feels it is far,far better to get Truely away from that before Truely starts to see Kody the way Gwendolyn and Ysabel do. The idea that Kody has that he is such a darn catch that no woman would leave him unless she had lowered herself to be with another man is absurd. If Christine was getting it on the regular basis and with another man why would she be asking Kody if they were going to be intimate again?! He's not only ugly,I agree with John's mom on that front.,but he's also dumb as a stump.
Christine said that already in the last episode....that she wants to take Truely away from Kody before she catches on to what her father is doing.

You would think Meri would be more understanding of what Christine is going through. She had one foot out the door a few years ago. She even told the wives she was considering leaving.
Meri had years of this cults beliefs. I believe she has multi conflicts within herself. I believe her stoic personality and rough outer appearance is of years of smile, be obedient, be submissive.
Robyn says it will ruin the closeness of the family....and yet at the last Christmas her youngest daughter, didn't even recognize Savannah.

When Kody suddenly wanted to get Truly 50/50 TLC should have played back last weeks episode. If it's an inconvenience to see Ysabelle for a few hrs how on earth would he spend time with Truly? Where would she stay during his 50%? She can't even go inside Robyn's house so Kody needs explain how he can have her 50% of the time! As a Mom myself I worry about Truly staying w/Robyn n would only be comfortable w/Janelle. Wait Kody can't be away from his kid's...whoops I mean Robyn's kid's. HOW WOULD YOU HAVE TRULY 50/50 KODY!!! HOW?!?! Sorry this clearly struck a nerve.
if Kody was serious about 50/50 custody with Truly, he would be spending some time with her now. So far, zero interest. Truly seems afraid of Kody, probably from the "teaching to ride a bike" incident. Kody's idea of "teaching" is "forcing."

This "family" is the definition of dysfunctional. Meri is like the sad kid on the fringe who is going pick me pick me. Janelle does her own thing and Robyn stays tucked away like the queen of the castle. I hope Kody watches the show at some point and realizes that hey I really am an asshole- but that would require too much self awareness. Christine looks so much lighter and happier now that she got that Kody size weight off her back! Keep up the good recaps- you guys are the only reason I still have any interest in this train wreck!

TLC is trying so hard to make Sobyn & Kiddie look better. Janelle has Logan, Maddie, Hunter, Garrison, Gabriel & Savannah. Christine has Aspyn, Mykelti, Paedon, Gwendolyn, Ysabel & Truley. They have two thirds of all of the Brown children. They need a show. Christine & Janelle are fun together. Meri is beaten down, sad and DON'T get me started on the other two. Just watched you guys for the first time and I'm hooked! Love your humor, your dynamics, the side stories and your opinions, whether on this rocky horror family show named "Sister Wives" or on general topics (health care!).
I'm almost ashamed to confess that I've been following the show for a year or so, but it's just like a psychology accident on the highway that you just can't look away from. By the way, one of the most "hilarious" moments of the episode was when Kody said something like "(Christine) didn't ask me whether she can move, she just decided! She didn't ask me, when she threw me out of her bedroom, she just put my stuff in the garage!..." EXCUSE ME?!!! (that was me yelling at a youtube-video).

Like I was telling you on twitter, I think the other wives reactions(meri and robyn) were solely based on the fact that by Christine leaving she's ruining their destiny into heaven, I believe they believe that and thats really why they're mad, and Robyn basically panicking if theyre sure this is happening or not, I believe the reason Kody acted like they hadnt had the conversation about taking truely or that he was ok with it when they did talk, is because he also said he didnt want to have the conversation with the other wives at all because he'd look weak, I think he was mad because Christine made him look like he wasnt in control in front of them - and dont even get me started on the end with the "patriarchy" crap - he did say unless people are going to obey and respect him he just wont get them together, and my guess is thats exactly whats going on now, everyone is just doing their own thing(going on trips together etc) Im sure Kody is fuming about how he's looking lol

I have always thought that Kory was done with Meri when she bought the B&B on her own. He cannot forgive that. He could have used that money to get more wives and children.

From what I understand mari is the one that makes the most money so if she leave there goes there lifestyle. I say Christian hurt them but they can deal with it but if one of the other two leave it would do them in.
They will lose the TLC money if Christine won't do the show anymore. She would probably do well with her own show. Meri may start losing her social media standing, therefore losing her lularue income if the show is canceled. Janelle will start planting her garden on the property and be happy.
You gotta check out both subreddits for Sister Wives. It has so many time people have documented where Christine tried to offer to take care of the kids and where she's been so supportive.

We lived in an old R.V for 2 years. Luckily it was at an R.V park. But the Winter snow months did make it hard. Not the cold, but the ability to get around the snow. Otherwise it was pretty fun getting to know the people in the park.

You guys are great! I have watched sporadically over the years and I think Christine and Janelle are the base of the family. They keep plodding along with Janelle working and Christine taking care of the kids. Meanwhile, Kody is blind to everything and everyone strutting around like a rooster in the hen house(s). He loves his cars. Meri falls by the wayside as Kody gets bored and looks for fresh meat, aka Robyn. The whole dynamic changes when Robyn joins the family. She's younger, slim, does her hair, does not dress weird, and keeps Meathead's attention. This"family" implodes due to Kody's inability to take care of everyone and his immaturity. He's not the sultan that he thinks he is. He's also not the sharpest pin in the pin cushion.

Nikki mocking Kody has me dying of laughter because that is exactly how he looks when he is defensive. But yeah, that dictatorship is not going to work with Janelle. Janelle is the type where she only going to put up with so much. I think to protect the family she would leave Kody, but she won't blast him like Christine did because sadly she still thinks Kody deserves not to look bad. Which he deserves it. This " what about my daughter!" no one is buying that. Him crying about Isabelle leaving just to cut her off in the couple of episodes shows he doesn't care about his kids.

Back then they were still trying to pretend to be a family and I think the biggest reason it was a family discussion is because meri wanted to use some family money but kody said sure but then we have sat and are part owner and meri was like heck no it’s mine I will find the money somewhere else and she did. She should leave and we all say she lets kody walk all over her. But she was smart to not take the money from kody because he wanted to own/control the B&B. And she knew that was not a good idea
Meri was asking for help with money. Jannelle had what was left of her money after helping Robyn with her house to but my the RV. She was trying not to spend more money so she could build. But the truth was Kody knew they had to get permits and bring electric, gas , water to the lots which took money and he said the lots have to be paid which is bullshit. Jannelle always made decisions by herself bc Kody was never available.

I agree about them pretending for the show, they wanted that huge house. Robyn didn't need a house that big.
Janelle had said she is not a mothering type of person. Christine raised Janelle's kids because Janelle worked and Christine's kids were similar age. By the time Robyn had kids, Christine was done raising kids. She started working or whatever she was doing.

This episode really made me mad, Meri stating that Christine puts on a good front was bitter and angry in Lehi. Kody wondering what man Christine has to make her want to leave. The gaslighting and culty vibe of this episode was annoying.

It's so weird that he didn't offer Janelle and Savanah to move in with him and Robyn. Or even offer Janelle to move with Meri. It's crazy that they pretend to be family but CLEARLY they are not a unit. Hell, we've never even seen anyone from Robyn's immediate family. 17 seasons and not a single visit from that lady's family.
