Thanks, Chuck. Glad you find these UA-cam videos helpful. There are hundreds of them I developed over the last several years. I also started a subscriber site at fiddlehed.com. The UA-cam lessons will continue to be available but the site has guided lessons with tabs, play alongs, etc. You can have free access to the site for the forum, blog, request list and the first few beginner lessons. There is also a Fiddlehed Facebook page.
Your videos are GREAT I really enjoy them you are an instructor who presents very well what do you use to make the cymbal sounds in your video thanks Mike
thanx for that tutorial! very good structured, repeating all parts, you play slow - perfect for a fiddle beginner! and a gret tune. Now I have a lot to learn..any tips on wrist and fingerpain, I just started playing some days ago!
I'm confused, when you play the song in the very beginning you play AO, 1 , 3 , 0, 1, 3 but when you teach it you play it A3-1-0-1-3-0-1-3, it makes it confusing, I could figure out why I could figure out why I was having such a hard time until I finally notice you play it different than you teach it.
@@fiddl3hed its for Angelina Baker. I must be doing something wrong on my side becauae i watch all your videos but im having trouble writing out the notes i cant seem to find them just
Simon Speak Hi Simon. I must have made the video before I started to add tabs and finger charts. Here are the tabs from the version on FiddleHed: A part First quarter: (A3-1)-0-1-3-0-1-3 Second quarter: (A3-1)-0-1-3-1-0-1 Third quarter: (A3-1)-0-1-3-E0-1-0-A3 Fourth quarter: (E0)-1-0-A3-0-1-0 B part First quarter: (E1-L2)-E3-1-0-A3-E0-1-0-A3 Second quarter: (E1-L2)-3-1-0-A3-0-1-0-1 Third quarter: (E1-L2)-E3-1-0-A3-E0-1-0-A3 Fourth quarter: (E0)-1-0-A3-0-1-0
sometimes it's hard to see whether you're bowing up or down when we can't see the tip of the bow or your hand. so my tip would be to move the camera back a bit to reveal the tip of the bow at all times.
thanks much for your feedback. i'll try to do part of the video with the whole bow in view, and part of it with a closer angle on the left hand fingers. sound good?
Great lesson only been playing a week but I’m picking it up. Thank you

Try to play with as relaxed a grip as possible. Practice this with simple open string playing.
Do you play on the first and third finger all the way throw except on the e you play all 4 fingers, wish you put it upon screen cos I’ve nearly got it

+HelterSchecter sorry for the confusion. A3-1 at the beginning is a pickup. A lead in to the melody.
can you tell me how many cm are the fret stickers apart for finger placement? :) thank you!
Cello Phane
Look at your clip on tuner to find the correct placement.
