Becky, I’ve only heard you play the fiddle (really, really well I might add). You’re a good rhythm guitar player too! Ned is one of my banjo heroes. You two are awesome on this! Thanks!!!!
I have been learning to play bluegrass guitar, love Angeline the Baker, this was the first vocal cover I found and I was hooked... on the song, and on Becky Buller's vocals... love the rhythm cover instead of the normal fiddle tune... thanks Becky! And Ned, the fiddle tune played on the banjo is outstanding, thanks!
Excellent! Lot's of people playing Angeline the Baker, but this gives a more folky and less bluegrass vibe, along with perfect vocals. Thanks so much for sharing... PS: Why is this the first I have heard of Becky Buller? Love her!
Thanks again for the invite to sing and pick for y'all and the Julia Belle, Jamie and the good people of Deering! Here's some more info on this lyric: "My Angeline" Becky Buller, Goodnight Sparky Music, BMI
Becky, I've come back to this video at least a dozen times, led me to search much more of your music on YT... I love your voice and guitar playing, you and Ned together are a real powerhouse. I notice your right hand has a "floating brace" against the fingerboard... I keep trying to play this way as I think it's the most versatile melodic rhythm technique... not easy to play smoothly that way!
Sure did. Thanks to Barry for the fast shipping and great service. I love it. I've had it three days (it's a Goodtime 2) and have put in about 8 hours practice already. It's beautiful, feels very well made, and sounds great. I'll play it every day. Thank you Deering for a great banjo...I have a feeling it is the start of a Deering collection.
@@samuelorozco255 I'm still at it. I play a little every day. In fact, it's about time for new frets. I've really enjoyed trying to learn banjo...even if I'm not particularly good at it. LOL
Becky, fantastic vocals and playing! Are you playing professor Dan’s Thompson or is that yours? I bought a Thompson Brazilian in September. Phenomenal guitar.
Just as an aside, the original author of Angelina Baker wrote some excellent lyrics to this tune. Both the modern melody and lyrics seem to have diverged from the Stephen Foster version enough to be more or less just a different song worthy of a new title.
Song was also recorded by III Tyme out, written by Ms Buller. I can’t find the lyrics but here is a vid of the other recording. With some work you can get them down. ua-cam.com/video/XYllkj8H-ng/v-deo.html
Neil makes a common mistake. I don't hear how loud my banjo is behind the singer. He drowns out her. But it is lovely all the same and he plays a great version I am sure all his own.
@@DeeringBanjoCo some folks just have zero appreciation for whatever isnt their thing. Shallow, sad unhappy people. For me - this was great and as a Deering owner the banjo sounded great.
I’m not a fan of this either, but she’s not what I would consider bluegrass. It’s more folk or traditional. It’s not upbeat like your traditional bluegrass.
I watch this over and over and dont know what to think. Probably the best version of this song there is.
Never heard it like this before, and i like it. Sooooo good
Such a pleasure to listen to this. Great job singing Becky; Ned, smooth as glass :). Awesome.
A fantastic version! Hats off!

The reason you had never heard of her before is probably because her music isn’t very popular.
Wow Becky Buller really shines in this.
That’s one sweet sounding banjo!
Easily my favorite performance of this advertising campaign for the Deering Julia Belle.
you could knock a wall down with the open 4th string on that banjo...
One of my favorite tunes on My (Deering) Banjo and my Mandolin.
Love it.
Excellent mellow sounding banjo.

Inspiring, makes me want to play my banjo!
Great job. Love to hear Angeline in three finger style. Bought my first Deering from Barry Waldrep and it shipped today. Can't wait.

Any tablature to this bad ass version. I can never get enough
Becky, maybe it’s just me but I have never heard these lyrics before! I want them.
Perfect 🙂

Too slow to boring no wonder people don’t like Bluegrass
Cant tell if you are being serious or not. But either way, each to their own. :-)
