Skulls - Skulls will automatically be selected when you select the Halo 3 LASO playlist. They are as follows: Black Eye, Blind, Catch, Cowbell, Famine, Grunt Birthday Party, Iron, IWHBYD, Mythic, Thunderstorm, Tilt, and Tough Luck.

To all who are trying to beat this now, running past the enemies is better alternative. After 1 hour of trial and error, taking out sniper jackal and running past everything helped me clear this with 1 death only. But I am not sure how much this is RNG based

6:51 I’d argue that because the ODST’s have backpacks, it gives them more grenade storage.
Finally beat this today. Absolute nightmare, but supremely satisfying once you beat it.
Hopefully the other missions are a bit more forgiving...

Best Laso walkthrough ever
For anyone playing PC, you can dot your reticle simply by pressing the pause screen, the cursor will be centered every time.
Late reply, but you can also render the game in borderless windowed mode with a third party crosshair app running along side it. Crosshair V2 works brilliantly.

I always use the edge of a sticky note as crosshair. On PC you can press ESC from within a game and your mouse cursor will be positioned in center. Put the edge on the cursor and then the tip of it is the center.

dam wow this was the first halo laso mission i truly did not die once and need to save and quit. i Guess thanks to all the meds all around, although I did nearly die after accidentally spawning in the hunters.
If your not to sure what gun sounds are what you can look at your shadow on a wall and see the gun your holding, hope this helps :)
Hiya Silver, haven't checked out the laso videos yet, but I'm really excited to tackle this laso with your guides once again. I'm always excited when a new halo drops. Just to try out the game blind on legendary first and watching these vids afterwards.
Are you going to do the mombasa streets segments as well (prolly not, cause you can dodge most of the enemies and the spawns of each chapter are pretty much the same?). But imo it would be a nice bonus video to have for people who are doing laso with mombasa streets.

Do the jackals in halo odst run out of ammo like they do in h3 when they overcharge their weapon? Cause that was a pretty useful exploit sometimes when you don't wanna rush things.
Anyways, I'll have a try at this level today and can't wait to "phew, did it" myself through this laso run.
Unfortunately no, the pet jackal exploit isnt in ODST.
So if I do this on co-op, my friend and I would have to do "prepare to drop" individually and then join each other on the next mission?
If you happen to spawn the hunters just use the Beam rifle to kill as many brutes as you can and skip that section by going towards the Turret, jumó on the box beneath the Turret, jump to the turret and move towards the door ignoring everyone.

If you don't want to put tape on your monitor, assuming that you set the reticle to be centered, you can tape thin twine diagonally across your monitor and use the meeting point as a reticle. It's a little visually distracting at first, but very functional.
I just play without a reticle. It's fun and pretty easy to learn.

or you just know that the center of your screen would be your reticle and aim without it, it makes no difference to where youre aiming

Might be a silly question but is there any particular campaign or custom game to load up so I can do a makeshift reticle for this LASO run?
I've only done Reach LASO previously and would always boot up a Reach custom game beforehand to set it up.

Geez. Takes him 18+ mins to complete. Takes me 1 hr lol The hunter bit did not go as planned but managed to make it work
im not going to lie i have done all of halo 1 and 2 and just finished 3 and now im on this and the 3 shot to the body is a lie it takes me 4 to max 5 shots to the chest and or head just to break a shield idk if they did something since you put these videos up but damn that was frustrating
Should probably note that you can just start up the level NMPD HQ to trace the sniper reticle because you spawn in with a sniper, and there are no custom games for ODST
Custom Firefight!....But you're right, I used NMPD HQ as well, then Uplift Reserve real quick to get that alternate reticle position for 3rd person weapons, lol.

I have a question I am genuinely curious about: Are these guides for people who try to do each level without dying? Since getting MCC, I've had desire to do LASO and actually abide by the Iron skull when I die, but does anyone actually do that? I did the first two levels of CE and I learned half of T&R in that manner, but I decided to try the whole save/quit cheese for ODST just to get a sense of what it was like, and it's honestly really easy. They give you so many health packs that Black Eye almost never comes into play. For some levels, a modicum of creativity is required, but others, you can just go through them super slow and play them like you might play legendary, albeit a lot more carefully. And for a lot of sections, if you really get stuck, you can just keep throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks, i.e. brute force your way to the next checkpoint. I'm at 12/17 in the SLASO playlist right now, and I really haven't run into any serious issues despite going completely guideless.
So I am genuinely curious: Are these guides made with the intent that people don't save/quit cheese? Are people watching these guides not save/quit cheesing? Just trying to figure out what the norm is here, because save/quit seems to completely trivialize this playlist.
EDIT: I dont want it to sound like I am bashing the guides or people who use them because I'm not. I actually love watching these guides, but only for stuff I've already completed on my own. It's really fun to see what I came up with vs what the "right" way to do it is. Also, I get that ODST is one of the easier LASO campaigns, but my question applies to the guides for all LASO campaigns.
I would have some major respect for anyone who can do LASO for these games without using the save/quit cheese. He is making these guides for people who do both. Halo Completionist definitely gives you the strat that gives you the best chance of survival, so if you are really trying to beat these without needing to save/quit, these will work. It will be insanely difficult for some of the levels in all of Halo, but TECHNICALLY doable. That being said, anyone who can beat Halo 2 LASO without dying is a god in my book.
Also, as an add, I use these guides before I go into the levels because I have a limited amount of time to game per week. These guides have been not so much of a step by step guide for me, but an outline that I loosely follow with my friends. The guide for Gravemind has you skip the prison section and most people say it's dang near impossible to make it through in LASO, but my friend and I had to do it because we couldn't get the co-op prison skip to work. It only added an extra half an hour to the level, albeit added a bunch of deaths in the process. I always attempt to follow his guides, but sometimes, co-op strats cannot be the same as solo strats.

Hit the back button to open up your map. You can find your objective on there.

Maybe because u have scoring on and he has competitive scoring on
Why does it take you 3 Beam Rifle shots to take their shields down but 5 five headshots for me?...
When he made the video I think there was a glitch with the mythic skull meaning they didn’t have increased health, but it got fixed sometime after this video
To do all Laso achievements for mcc, does it have to be solo or can it be co op?

You can definitely do co-op. I am 5 months late, but if anyone has the same question, that's how I've been doing it for each game.
So if my friend and I selected the Non-Stop Action playlist and did the first two missions but we didn't do Prepare to Drop individually would we have to start all over again?
If you're about to start Kizingo Boulevard, it should say 3/10 Complete. If it says 2/10 that means you probably don't have Prepare to Drop registered. One could go back, do it solo, then rejoin the other at the Kizingo checkpoint. Then the second player can go back, do it solo, then rejoin the other at the Kizingo checkpoint.
Its way faster to just run by all at the end if you hug the right side and just jump over the hunters.
True, but I try to limit RNG as much as possible. You can really run through this whole level, but I wanted to lay out how to systematically get through each area so as many people could complete it as possible. Running and gunning can be difficult for some players and they'll just give up.
