- Part 2 of 8 for completing a Halo 3: ODST LASO playlist in the Master Chief Collection which will grant you the "Safety Not Guaranteed" achievement.
Level - Uplift Reserve
Difficulty - Legendary
Skulls - Skulls will automatically be selected when you select the Halo 3 LASO playlist. They are as follows: Black Eye, Blind, Catch, Cowbell, Famine, Grunt Birthday Party, Iron, IWHBYD, Mythic, Thunderstorm, Tilt, and Tough Luck.

This guide also works for the “Classic” achievement if you play on standard legendary and don’t shoot anything or honk the horn at all.

yeah they definitely have less health for him.. it takes me two spartan shots to kill the wraiths. I had to go in the building to get another spartan laser to kill the wraiths and turret in that big area.. nonetheless.. finished my second laso mission without dyeing once since the beginning of the mission yay lol
The game must’ve updated since these guides, because in H3 and in ODST I’m noticing that the enemies have a lot more health than in your guides, specially with any tricks that involved the fuel rod cannon or Spartan laser
i agree, alot of the times he says 3 fuel rod shots or 3 sniper shots, however i actually needed 5 fuel rod shots... i use PC so maybe that's what it is.
@@troyincarnate8105 I’m on Xbox and having the same issue :/ I’m guessing maybe the LASO playlist has special modifiers we’re not aware of, and he’s recording these by simply loading up the mission with all the skulls enabled so it’s easier to record
@@doctornuck oh dam, so xbox too huh :/ well then it could what you said first about it being updated.. or that he just played on legendary with all the skulls on and that laso playlist does have those special modifiers.
Glad to see it's not just me having this issue. It takes two Spartan Laser shots to kill the wraiths.
He actually didn't mention in the video but you need to spartan laser the cockpit of the wraiths
Fun fact: the way the space elevator gets destroyed is actually pretty realistic. The cable above the breaking point flies off into space, since it's anchored to a tether in orbit that would pull it off towards it.
I never noticed the cable flow off into space neat little detail!
When you get to the section with the second set of wraiths, there are two spartan lasers in the building in the middle. One of them is under the stairs and the other one is being carried by a marine.
All that really matters is the shed turret frankly. Just make sure the first wraith is far enough forward. You have to do 2 shots per wraith now so by the time you take out the shade you’re empty but it’s enough.
I found an exploit during my Legendary run, you can skip _most_ missions in the game by simply quitting out of the game when Rookie finds the clue and you see the post-game carnage.
I skipped 5 missions and got the Legendary speedrun achievement :D
Not sure if this works on Xbox though.
@@Salar6 Step by step:
* Pick up the clue to trigger the mission
* Skip (or watch) the cutscene of Rookie examining the clue
* When the postgame carnage pops up, alt-f4 the game (doesn't have to be immediate, just don't start the next mission)
* Start the game up again
* Immediately go to campaign and resume the playlist (do NOT go to any other menu but campaign)
Just confirmed it myself, it for sure works, that's crazy

ok tested and it seems that it doesn't work for H4, CE and Reach unfortunately...

Are you playing with Mythic off? Its the same as the H3 laso runs where everything tanks a lot more than what they do in your runs.
Something that should have been mentioned in the video. You need to Spartan laser the cockpit of wraiths to kill them in one shot.
This got me the No Pain, No Gain achievement!! Thank you!
You can hijack a chopper and drive past the wraiths in the beginning section. This gives you a full 5 shots to deal with the turret and 2 wraiths in the future section. No matter where I aimed my laser I could never one shot them. So this is the strat I used for anyone else in the same boat.

I just rushed past everything even on LASO, like the same for speedrun. And with the ghost you can climb a lot of hills XD

It's definitely not. Took me half an hour to finish the level, and I suck at Halo.

So, why do Wraths take two hits from my laser, but only one in the video?
Yeah i got that too, also in the previous mission i found that the brutes took more than three shots with the beam rifle to down their shields.
Hope this kind of thing doesn't make my run even harder.

Yeah man I'm getting the same thing.
My guess is Silver is playing on a recreation of the LASO playlist, but not the playlist itself, and forgot to enable the Mythic skull
For people who have patience and want to destroy everything, it's a great level to give the man, the legend, chips dubbo a spartan laser and have him as your passenger :p
But yeah, this level is very easy, almost forgot I was doing LASO, since the laser shows you were you are going to shoot.

Not sure if they changed something since this video but those first two wraiths are not nearly as passive and have God aim. Fortunately you can get past them with good warthog driving skills and a bit of luck until you get to the ghost.
uplift reserve laso is legit easier than tsavo highway heroic
my LASO run for this level was only 13 seconds slower than my regular legendary run for the Nagato Makes Moving Easy run, lol. First and so far only LASO level I haven't consulted a guide for and the second one I've done legit deathless (previous ODST level being the first).
I missed one laser shot somehow you have like two more shots than me after that the hell

What is happening? Why are you dealing double my damage? It takes two lasers for me. Just like last level it took double the beam rifle shots too.

Either. I suggest the Non Stop Action playlist since it doesn't have Mombasa Streets to deal with.

Awesome silver and I managed to get the tank all the way even past the last area and to get the tank in the last area in the next mission u need to bring another tank with u and then with the first tank park it up on the barrece then with the second tank keep pushing the first tank in to the last area and I hope my commute help u and everyone ease who doing kiting boulevard on laso difficultie

Why does it seem entirely random if a Spartan Laser kills a wraith in 1 shot or 2?
If anyone is as stupid as me make sure you're aiming at the cockpit- the little circular hatch in front of the gunner or it won't be enough.
I usually aim for the top of the tall, upside-down U shape on the front/bottom of the nose of the wraith. In this photo you can see there is the outline for the hatch, but then the tall, upside-down U is a little ways below that. ODST is the 2nd hardest Legendary but the easiest LASO. It makes no fucking sense XD
