Thanks for watching! What a year 2024 was. I'm not going to lie, this felt like a hoss to put together and I'm relieved to have it out in the world. Let me know what you think!
What a fantastic documentary & edit! Amazing year of action and footage, as a frustrated guy stuck in the UK, you provide a great insight into what it’s like to get up close to this phenomenon and for that I’m really grateful, so it’s a big fat thanks from me & well done with this video!! Have an awesome 2025 season!👏👏
Beautiful sounds coming from under that supercell, just before you mentioned it yourself. Nothing catches my attention more than the low and high pitch wind sounds. Letting the supercell cover you then taking video looking out was spectacular. Fantastic and well produced video, great teamwork. New subscriber.
Thank you! I often refer to it as "stimulating weather" - moments like those don't just entertain my eyeballs, the sounds and smells of the storm rolling over are just as notable. Appreciate you watching and noticing the little things!
Excellent as always, Andrew. Please keep doing what you do and being a chaser that others should look up to! Much respect, eager to see what '25 brings.
Always excellent to see Illinois representing in the storm chasing game. Thank you for the time you dedicated to capturing and editing this footage, as it’s a treat 💪
38:10 is so funny cause pretty much the same thing happened to me on that tornado! One minute it's looking so benign, then I drive past some trees and strip malls and as soon as I have a view again, boom! You guys got some great footage.
Amazing footage - I grew up in western Illinois in absolute terror of severe weather, so it's pretty surreal to see such familiar towns and scenery with tornadoes looming in the background. The background noise of killdeer and rushing grasses and Midwestern thunderstorms really bring back memories too.
I love the way the bird songs work into the videos - it always brings me right back to the moment when I'm watching - even in the dead of winter! Thanks for watching!
Andrew I can't lie you've had probably your most insane and intense season yet, with my favourite being the photogenic footage just like they present in twisters! Tornado footage is also really underrated in providing detail on tornado lifespan breakdown.
I’m about half way through viewing and I have to share how much I appreciate no narration and just letting us hear the thunder, wind, birds and experience it almost as if I were there myself. It’s a nice change from most videos screaming about a “violent tornado” - is there a tornado that isn’t violent dipsh*t?! Thank you.
It is always a treat seeing the SKYDRAMA drop right when SDS really starts to kick in. I really enjoyed the soundtrack pairings you selected for each chase, each one matching the vibe completely. I know the center focus are days like April 26 and May 21st, but I really resonated with that landspout day. Those are the forecasting wins you dream of! Additionally, July 15th Derecho reminded me of a chase I had on 8/27/2020, where I drove 2 hours to the Hudson Valley of NY just to have my apartment hit by an EF1. As always Andrew, thank you for pulling this together. I love the tradition that it has become. Great to FINALLY see you out in the field this year and hopefully we can make that happen again in 2025. Cheers, Ethan
Appreciate you as always, Ethan! You definitely how special something like that landspout day was. Yeah I’m privileged to have chased those big outbreak days and I’ll remember them forever, but you simply treasure the lowkey days that you end up alone with something special. Being hours away while your house gets nailed… an unfortunate but probably common scar amongst storm chasers! Hopefully our Subarus can say hello for a little longer in 2025!
I got in a bit late on the live, what a great closure to a really good day. A couple reflections: • Tornado mocks wind farm. • Iowa, where pigs fly somewhere over the rainbow. 😄!! Thanks Andrew for bringing the experience to my living room. 🎆 Here's to safe chasing in 2025!!
oops, missed one! a fitting end to the most active year since 2011, with a historic December tornado outbreak (i wanna say the 3rd largest after the 2021 ones?)
I don't know if this is the one but we had that tornado go through Aurora Illinois and Northern North Aurora Illinois a year ago or a year ago February 27th where I live it was closed it was right over our building thank God it didn't drop it was only a funnel cloud and it headed for and headed east it was a Northwest Northwest of us in Aurora and North Aurora scary I love all you Chasers be careful take care bless your heart and be safe❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂❤
I need to see a tornado / Super cell strom in person.. video / youtube doesnt do it justice.... i live in Nky/Cincinnati. i never get to see a supercell storm ( or very rare) maybe 1-3 supercells in my 40 years of life..... I need to see one. a good one with unbelievable structure ( videos do not do these freks of nature justice) once my parents pass ill get a (50%) of a blind trust / a (Currently) brand new 2024 Jeep Compass 4x4 turbo (not even 1000 miles on it yet) / and a home already paid for.. but if i need to see a storm like this ill have to travel to Central Usa :( maybe indiana.. but... it may be another 20 years :( but once that jeep is mine. im going tornado hunting ( or ill be the hunted.. al; well . I GOTTA SEE ONE
@ 1:51:37 Thats not a transformer blowing up.... teh Debree / winds / blow metal and anything and everything all over the place. if metal is blown over or on Powerlines the flash / blue-ish arcs u see is just that a SHORTED OUT Powerline/Powerlines or shorted Phase/ to phase and or Phase to ground... if you went to college for meterology you should have took a Lineman class too to under stand how power poles work lol LMMFAO! 🤣
cuz if teh transformer blew up. teh power would go out... and stay out... that was basicly just a fault on the power lines ( lower ones are ones usualy going to houses/busineses (unless you have an underground service line) powerpoles have reclosures that will cut power to prevent exploding transformers ( its can happen) but now is very rare unles the area is poor and cant aford new technologies... reclosures can sut power off and back on to try to clear a " FAULT" on teh line liek say a soaken wet tree branch ( in storms) getting blown down or broken off trees near power lines. and if it goes off 2x or 3x its then out for good ( as long as lines arnt broken / poles are not snapped or destroyed... but yea!

Ummm. I'd suggest dropping the music by roughly 12db, and chopping out the 5+ minute "intro", as both are... really rather annoying.
@ the suggestion box is outside and down the hall
@@AndrewPritchard So, you ask for comments, I comment, you make a sarcastic reply. Noted...
Aw yeah, it’s always a treat when the SKYDRAMA yearly recap is here!

Amazing! Love the footage, and the emotions after the tornadoes. Very felt. Great work out there this year!
Thanks, Hunter!

The level of both foresight and patience you must've had to intercept that landspout is phenomenal.
I'll remember and treasure that storm for the rest of my life for those reasons!

Thank you for watching! It was definitely the craziest year I’ve had in a long long time.
Just getting started and looking forward to watching SKYDRAMA over the next few days! The beginnin definitely gets the blood pumping! Nice job Andrew!
Thanks, Scott! Hope you enjoy the rest! And hope even more that we finally run into each other out there next year!
Amazing coverage of some of the most dangerous storms. Always stay safe!!!

Great to see you mentioned in Hank’s 2024 action round up too!

Sunday may 26th we had a F3 touch down in town in sikeston MO about 7 am So yes that was a high risk day no tornado since the early 80's in my town.
Lots of folks had weather problems on May 26th!
What type of tornado is 1:40:05 ?
