Watched this a second time. It is like a funny little fairy tale. The school is beyond my comprehension, everyone hovering around you and your sister like animals in a cartoon forest. A melancholy permeates the telling and makes it especially moving. Can you explain the difference between a dream and a fantasy, or do you in one of these videos?
This is a lovely video, displaying what must be a hard won self awareness and interesting conceptual framework. I started writing in my late teens, out of HS, depressed, with no idea of, let alone confidence in, a viable future. School had been an academic as well as a social disaster. The novella I came up with was a dream of a high school romance in the form of a satirical, sentimental, surreal journey. Just as I had lacked the ability to manifest my dream while I was in HS I now lacked the skill to manifest the literary work I had dreamed up, and put away the manuscripts in my early twenties. All this took place during the 1980s.
