strange debate with Cancel Culture that. At first, it was calling out people who'd done genuinely horrendous things and ostracizing them, but now people get in a frenzy due to being annoyed, not getting their way or grasping at straws for reasons by association. That's not to say there are still many valid cases, but to an extent it can be argued it has gotten a little out of hand in places.
It'll take some time for it to calm down, but eventually it'll get back to the way it was. Eventually.

Noone should be cancelled for expressing their thoughts. Cancelling doesn't stop people thinking. It just drives thoughts underground, where they grow in secret without critique. Does anyone really want that?
most of the time, people consider that "critique" to be cancellation or silencing. people think that freedom of speech means freedom from consequences in the public eye. so if someone says something dumb, people say they said something dumb, usually the response from the dumb person is "they're trying to silence me!!". really, it's just people who haven't faced criticism at all in their lives overracting to someone or several people disagreeing with them. "i'm being silenced!" they scream to a television audience of two million.
People should be held accountable for their actions, but when they try to cancel people for something like saying "women" instead of "people who menstruate" it's just stupid.
No one gets cancelled, but people should be held accountable if they're idiots. The one's complaining about "cancel culture" are egomanics that can't deal with critique. People can express their thoughts, but so can everyone else.
@@cappyjones i am a trans person, the only people who demand that are faux-woke "allies" who do it for an ego boost. people have no issue with it unless the speaker is using explicit anti-trans language through-out. for example, margaret atwood is a life-long trans ally who got into a little bit of hotwater by faux-woke "allies" for saying that some people are afraid to say "woman", but nobody in the greater trans community had any issue with that because of her support for trans people. however, when j.k. rowling says that... she usually spins it alongside conspititorial ramblings that blatantly deny reality. one huge example is when she proudly wore a t-shirt that proudly claimed that nicola sturgeon was an enemy go feminism due to her acceptance of transpeople... ignoring all the efforts she has made for female bodily autonomy, gender equality and her ongoing efforts to assure the safety of all women in scotland. much more than rowling has ever done in her lifetime.
so to put it simply, the idea that j.k. rowling is "only defending woman" is like saying that kanye west is "only mad at his record label". there are pages upon pages upon pages of pure insanity, delusion and authoritarinism that cannot be ignored in regards to rowling and those she considers to be friends. a youtuber by name of shaun details these connections that rowling proudly has in one of his recent videos, along with the t-shirt i mentioned. if you want feminism, you won't find it in the crowd that support ms rowling.
The only people that deserve canceling are the cancelers themselves...

People loved cancel culture when it was used to keep POC out of white spaces after segregation laws were cancelled but suddenly when it can be equally accessed it's problematic and threatening. It's selective hypocrisy to protect self-interest.
Oh yes I just seen this program about different celebrity being canceled because of the views or pictures being taken out of context or who they dated in a weird way I think it's kind of funny because in the social media and in other outlets they always say that you shouldn't put people in a position that they you put them in categories you know like you did this so you should be in this category or you did this you should be in this category. Isn't that what they doing in social media why should the media have that much power over someone's career in life I can't think of the man's name they showed on that it won that award for playing Loki but the speech he gave is pretty much similar to what was given when I can't think of her name when she said I'm so glad that the actors and all really like me now something on that order and your Sally Fields yeah everybody went crazy and said that was stupid and dumb and all this that and other and I didn't see anything wrong with it at the time because you want the people that you're working with to it be accepting of your work okay I was kind of shocked that nobody understood what she was saying that just like he got up there and said what he did I don't think he was glorifying himself at all but you know you when you in a in a acting when you around you're acting people that act with you but I'm trying to say you going to find a lot of people any little thing you say if they can twist it to make it sound negative to make you look negative they do it even knowing full well you didn't mean it to be that way. Look at law and order CSI I don't think he should have got on there and apologize it may not have been the right thing to say with the people you around but I didn't see anything wrong with what he said it's it always amazes me and entertainment world why some some of the entertainers can be racist some of them can be downright murderers rapist kill us whatever you want to call them abuses of women some of them have abused their own children in Hollywood entertainment world but if you say something they would literally crucify you and your career along with you I think they I mean they even had actors or stage assault another actors and I didn't see nobody calling the police I didn't see nobody pressing charges I didn't see anybody big organization standing up and said look here we're not going to take this okay we don't know where you was brought up or what your religious views or anything but abusing someone on national TV and actually believe you can get away with it just because you want a war just because you have money and you giving movie industries making money for them you know they didn't see anything they didn't step in and say this but yet and still he says something and oh my God how how could you do this you got to get on there and apologize because you insulted a lot of people and you know I think the Hollywood and the industry where people act and perform they need to take a real good look at the in the mirror about some of the things they accept and some of the things they should they should fight for or fight against because I think that's given young people and just the public in general a very negative image of Hollywood or just the acting profession in general they also showed women that took adult pictures you know opposing naked okay and they said you know we don't we don't support that and and all that okay I understand that you don't have to support it that's what they did personally and their life okay you wasn't there you know you you know what I mean it would like to say hey I want you to join in no they didn't but to have a Puritan attitude and put yourself on a pedestal and basically say you know these kind of people we don't want them on our program are working for us really when you have liars and thieves as people working now they have literally Rob people of their livelihood literally forced women as well as men to have sex with them to keep a job cheated on that wives have several affairs with other women as well as men while they're married to women and didn't see nothing wrong with that but a woman posing naked and not selling her tail to keep a job or being forced to do that or man being forced to do that oh my God that's horrible how could you do something like this. Jobs because who they been over to who they got on their knees to or who they open their mouth to but if a woman posed naked and makes money that's a terrible thing I mean this is not the first time this has happened that people judge you in different ways like I sold drugs in order to make a living okay I've been later on I end up being a famous singer or later on I'll end up being a famous actor or I had prostitute guess what I end up being famous end up being an actor or a singer dancer a performer and making millions and millions of dollars okay you tell me the difference between a person that's doing this low income or whatever you want to call it and a person doing the same thing but it had position or how to say in a better what you call better family have more money has more of everything they show people that was absolutely in a rich family seriously didn't have to really want for anything everything will just lay down a silver platter they couldn't get to do that they needed it they could get anything they won't go to any school they wanted to go to buy any fashion they wanted to buy putting up being a glorified w**** that's all they could do with all that opportunity with all that money they already had. I really think you need to show your children but it's a loss of celebrities it's a lot of actors is a lot of people in that line of work that you need to have a better understanding of not just them as a person but them as you know making a living or having a business or whatever you want to call it because I have seen people they showed on the internet just on the Internet or you too they act like they're big in theirs and they just on UA-cam they don't even know what money is they showed a woman throwing caulfield and called how you don't know who I am somebody too I mean what Amy did you win baby did you win an Oscar I'm sorry I don't I don't know you I think that kind of behavior need to be acknowledged too because the loss of young kids out here and their copycats I'm sorry to say that to about a lot of people kids but they just straight up copycats they see anything they want to be it they want to dress like it they want to sound like it they want to cut their hair like certain people I mean but I'm not going to extreme not just you know I think I've had people that when they seen videos you know even I went through that as a younger person but I'm talking about extreme they do everything but change their name and I think the culture really need to change on that even for adults because how much money are you going to make if you have 50 or 60 people acting like you dress it like you sounded like you okay so let's say you are 40 year old woman and you've been acting for for 20 years okay just we just saying that a woman show up she's 18 years old she sounds like you she walks like you she practically mimics you did everything but bury your ex husband they going to hire younger woman and get the same benefits and having you there. Something I've never understood is why is men being on OFs or similar sights but with women it's an issue
Because we care more for women and girls than we do for men and boys. Hence how when it comes to men or boys talking about being sexualzed it’s laughed at or deemed empowering when it’s a woman or girl doing it to them. But when a woman is in that position or girl the man is immediately ridiculed and called a monster. I understand how seeing photoshopped models on Instagram, such as the Kardashians, can cause people to have body and confidence issues, but if you're so concerned about kids being "corrupted", then perhaps you should monitor your kids social media presence. Besides, if little girls have access to onlyfans, then it's the parents who are to blame. People making money on sites like onlyfans is not degrading, considering it's their own choice and there's nothing wrong with that.
