I appreciate this video very much. Thank you. My pinky toe recently started to cause some problems as I have been on my feet quite a bit at my job. This small amount of extra support has made a huge difference!
Omg!! Thank you, thank you!! 😊
I have been doing so much to my pinky toes for a decade now and nothing seems to ever make it less tight. I can just stretch it more with ease now.,
Surgerys the only way to fix it but because its such a minor issue they won't operate on it unless its nessercery
do you use barfoot shoes?
@@Empfangsdame Barefoot shoes are great for a number of reasons but they are no cure, i use them for around 6-7 years now and my Pinky is still Sideways. I will try to use the tape together with the barefoot now, curious if that helps.
@@TheHorreK2For me it was, thats all I can say and I didn't have to tape anything. I think it is important how you walk and if you really walk... Here in germany we walk very much not only on streets but also on sand and through nature. I think that is also very important for your toes so they have to move and have to carry your weight.
Yes I tried it at my toe feels different already thank you
Wow I just saw this, this is a great idea, I have been using toe spacers, which have straightened some permanently, taken almost 4 years but it is better than it has been and now I am trying my both my 4th and 5th toe. the toe spacers work but as soon as I take them off they start to curl again. I am gonna to try this with my toe spacers and hope it helps.
Thank you. This was great, has already relieved the pain so I can walk for the day. According to a study on babies they wrapped the toes for 6 months and it corrected 94% of the babies toes. I know you say this is temporary but I intend to keep doing it for a few months to see if it will work to correct the problem. Wish me luck!
Any way for an update? Have you seen results after a couple of months?
I am in so much pain, and I hope this works as a corrective measure. I don’t want end up opting for the elective surgery, but I’ve considered it lately.
it wont. babies are growing, their bones are soft. as an adult yours are set. only surgery can permanently fix
@@johndonovan7018the problem might not be bones. It could be tendons that need to be stretched.
@@user-op2ro5xt9d they are related. either way you cant stretch shit once an adult. its pretty much done. not to any corrective degree anyway
Mine like that but it goes over instead of under
What would you do with the 3rd piece of tape if you used it?
Reinforce (ie: repeat) one of the previous ones ased on the current position of the toe.
Can you do the same for the toe next to it, if possible?
Yes
Hi, what hind of tape do you use? Where can I get it? Thanks.
It's rigid sports tape. You'll get it from any chemist or physio.
Will this hold if I'm hiking for 15-20 km or would I need to check it evey few hours?
It will depend on the rigidity of the tape and the tension you apply it with.
@@Blister-Prevention thank you~!
I have this problem and was told it was hammer toe! So bad that I got a wart on the underside of the toe and have tried everything from old wives tales like match burning and freezing. Used the drugstore Freeze it 2 times and one visit via a Nurse Practitioner! Used silica patches and liquid! Saw a foot doctor 3 times where they just shaved the callus (that protected the wart) and tried selling me some cream saw another foot Doctor who gave mr two rounds of Beetle Juice.....let it heal for months where I’m still feeling sensitivity there with a new callous grown! I can’t seem to rid myself of this thing. Is it maybe an ulcer, like an open wound that can never heal cuz I walk on it? With hundreds of warts out there I don’t know what to do and seems no one does either with not much on the internet with a wart/ulcer exactly on the bottom side of pinky toe? HELP as it affects my quality of life...
Gosh, I wish I could help. You've had quite a few people look at it and treat it - people who know about foot problems. So without seeing it myself, I wouldn't like to even comment.
If you want to get rid of the wart use apple cider vinegar specifically mother's brand and then take a bandaid with a paper towel soak the small piece of paper towel with apple cider vinegar then place on wart and then put the band aid over the wart and let it stay there over night while you sleep repeat once a night for a month you'll see results most likely in a week goodluck
If you're desperate for change, make a concerted effort to eat a wider variety of foods, and completely cut out known unhealthy or lazy food options. Too much bread, too much sugar, that kind of stuff is what the fungus feeds on, coursing through your bloodstream. Everything you eat often directly affects our blood quality. How else will calcium and vitamins travel through the body? This is where fungus gets a lot of its stubbornness.
Now, for the solution, make your diet too acidic for the viral fungus to survive, combined with topical iodine before sleep. Apple cider vinegar is one example off the top of my head. Refer to Eric Berg's video on toenail fungus. I gotta do all of the above, I eat too many sugary/bready simple foods 😬
There's one gel called "Wartner". I live in Bulgaria and we got this "Wart Pen" from "Wartner". It's literally like a pen with some gel inside which is put on the wart. I had a few warts on my hands and it makes the warts dry, then after a few weeks they come off and in the next 6 months the mark is completely healed. If you google "Wartner Wart Pen" it will come up.
For now just completely change your diet as in start going into super foods only and every other food as a treat Mode and you’re body will naturally heal it perhaps but in the meantime you should also make an appointment with your doctor and talk about quality of life and methods of removal or treatment
Is this a temporary or permanent treatment? Curious if it straightens the toe over time.
Absolutely temporary I'm afraid, Veo.
Surgery's the only permanent solution. However cos its such a minor issue they won't operate on it unless nessorcery
@@sexydudeuk2172 - Why do you say it's a minor issue? It's often not just a cosmetic thing, and can cause a lot of pain when walking. I've had this problem on and off with both pinky toes for the past 4 years and every podiatrist I saw when I was trying to find a solution was only too quick to tell me that the only permanent fix was surgery and they were only too happy to do it. I still haven't had it done because though all of them described this as every minor surgery, I have my doubts that it will work and won't just cause more problems. Derotational skin plasty with arthroplasty" is the procedure.
@@-johnny-deep- because its only seen as cosmetic reasons unless its causing pain and such. the little toe on my left foot curls under the one next to mine and have had it since birth as do other family members of mine. My mothers and all but one of my siblings is the same and it dont bother us. Mine only curls under when i rest it up as do my family. None of us are complaining. It never causes me any pain when walking. from what ive been told if its flexible and mine is all they need to do to correct it is release the tendon. if its rigid however theyll need to remove a small piece of bone
@@sexydudeuk2172 I didn't care about my curling pinky toes either until they started hurting a few years ago. Ideally, I'd like to get surgery to fix it, but I have zero confidence in any of the several podiatrists who were minimizing the risk of surgery and espousing a 6-8 weeks period to full recovery.
what about tailors bunion?
Wedge interdigitally and exercise
would this hold for a 12 hour shift on feet all day?
Yes, it will more than likely stay on.
Pinky toe🦶🏻🐯
You only used the two pieces in the video?
Yep - that size tape split into two gives pieces that are too wide. So I split it into three. Either don't use the 3rd, or use it in the same way as one of the others to reinforce its effect.
@@Blister-Prevention got it thanks for the help. Real quick while I got you here, I just started feeling a weird feeling in my toe today for the first time while I was at work, and it felt like it was curling. So when I get home I checked it out, and when I put a ton of weight on it, not standing normally but walking or pushing weight onto just my right foot, my pinky toe starts to curl like this. I’ve never felt anything like it before. Could I stop it from progressing to the point that I need surgery? It doesn’t exactly hurt right now but it doesn’t feel comfortable either. To be honest I’m not entirely sure that it’s even the same thing as this person toe it just kinda looks like this if I push all my weight on it, and it’s only on my right side. I don’t have health insurance, and I can’t afford to go to a doctor at all. And it’s just stressing me out. I don’t want to get to a point where I can’t walk and I can’t afford to loose my job either, I’m just searching for something
@@sutterbock5774 Gosh, it really is impossible for me to say from a simple text description. One would have to see your foot in action and examine fully to give a diagnosis and prognosis. I'm afraid that means a consult with a podiatrist. Sorry I can't help more.
@@Blister-Prevention I appreciate your time and the video anyway. I will use this tape, and do exercises to strengthen my foot and if that doesn’t help I’ll have to see somebody
Wow i think imma try this on my 1 year old. He has adductovarus toe. I can't take him to the podiatrist since his insurance was denied (cos he doesn't have pain) an' we're from California so I'm sure paying outta pocket will be expensive. I'm researching this on my own an' i can't find any toe spacers/correctors that will fit his toe (they're all to big; Adult sizes). I think this will help until i find another solution or find a podiatrist who will take his insurance. So thanks.
I wouldn't. This video was not made for paediatrics, it was made for people that get blisters. Get medical advice.
@@Blister-Prevention blisters? Like cos the way the toe is in the shoe? It causes blisters?
@@45Bryseida Yes, sometimes it can, if you are an athlete.
@@Blister-Prevention so it's not a method to correcting the position of the tie?
@@45Bryseida Not permanently, no. But in a 1 year old, this has the potential to permanently deform his/her toe.
Honestly at this point I don’t think my pinky toe contributes anything so straightening it is more of a look thing
Fair enough Oof. My channel is about blister prevention so this technique can help in that regard. Other than that, there's absolutely nothing wrong with having an asymptomatic curley toe - no need for treatment. 😀
The issue with this method is that the tape will just come off when you start sweating.
Very likely. You can use Compound Benzoin Tincture or cover with Fixomull Stretch to help hold it on. But regardless, it will stretch. I find the biggest issue is discomfort, as explained here: www.blister-prevention.com/blogs/prevention/hold-a-curly-toe-straight
@@Blister-Prevention yeah I've tried basically everything. I'm a long distance hiker and my small toe gets destroyed after like 20km if I don't baby it. Just gets crushed constantly. I literally have to cut a hole in the side of all my trail runners to allow my small toe extra space when I use a silicone toe cover
First thoroughly wash foot. 🤮
and pedicure to pamper
These are useless as when you sweat or get wet the tape will just come undone
