I have #151 with the green micarta handle which matches my only other Lionsteel made knife, the KnivesAndTools exclusive version of the MKM Normar (same steel and handle material). I would like to see a side by side comparison with the M7, T6 and M5 if you have them. I'm strongly considering an M5 in the near future.
The knife designer is Michele Pensato, his nickname is "Molletta". Very nice from Lionsteel and Mic to create a community knife in cooperation with the lionsteel knife fan community. For me this knife is a perfect match between the Lionsteel M7 and the T6 (in 3V and full tang and a nice droppoint blade). I like the handle a lot, because it makes it very functional with this long grip and this smooth metal guard.
I'm not sure what size you mean by magnacut but if its what I'm thinking, I also want the T5 in a larger 6 and 7 inch blade, same look and design! Perhaps in a CPM 3V. That would be my dream knife! I have the T6 K490 but I love the shape of the T5 above all.
@@MT-vm1zh Magnacut Steel. When it's heat treated right (63-64HRC) it's basically a very stainless K490 (4V/4E). Tough, stainless, and good edge retention. I'd be down for a T5 "stretch" with a 6" blade too. Just keep the same handle.
I hear you. Been going back and forth on t6cvg in k490 for like 6 months, lol. I know if I get it, I won't use it. But they are gorgeous. I do like the choil on this version more. Any idea on hrc for the 3v?
@LegionTacticoolCutlery You're right about Extrema and Fox, and the N690. They did a good job with it a dozen years ago, but even back then I was waiting for them to go to Elmax. They want Elmax money though...
The same with me on the T6 K490. 😂 Finally I bought the KC-01 with black mycarta like in the video. The CPM 3V is an awesome steele, you did nothing wrong purchasing this kind of metal. I think the lionsteel 3V is (like lot's of bushcraft knifes) from it's hardness between 58 and 60. After I got the KC-01 I sharpened it with 1200 grit, a ceramic rod and then I honed it with 10.000 grit on leather. The result is: you can shave your legs without preasure in the blade. What I want to say: the CPM 3V is hard enouth to get an amazing sharp edge. Use ballistol oil to keep oxidation from the blade or to remove it of your blade got some.
@@LegionTacticoolCutlery Dude, how could you not notice the 90 degree spine on the end of KC-01? It's one of the key features that Knife Community Italia voted on for the specs of this knife. It works like a charm.
Got mine on the pre-order period. It's a great knife but not a fan of the finger choil. If you like this one, may I suggest you have a look at the Saturn Knives Titano it's really fantastic, made by Lionsteel too and also designed by Mich Molleta. If you like Lionsteel I would also highly recommend the M1 as a daily EDC.

That is like the perfect knife. It's like a better and larger version the T5. I have the T5 and have always wanted a larger version of it. I really like the exposed full tang on the kc01. I'm curious how long it took for you to receive it after placing the order.
I ordered this around the time of blade show, right before Blade show so it took a couple of weeks, but the shipping was not too bad whatsoever, if you’re really interested in in this grab one because I’m not sure if they’re gonna make a production version of this.
Benchmade Freek (original model), Victorinox Craftsman (91mm 6 layer), Gerber MP450 multitool. No Opinel 8 Carbone today. But of course I'm in my room of knives, machetes, hatchets, axes, tomahawks and saws, so it doesn't really matter. Yeah, that's a high sabre with a flat grind and a V edge. That is one beautiful knife. I would use it as a "one knife" for minimalist light scout hiking/camping. The finger choil lets you do fine work, but it looks like it can do some chopping and definitely batoned splitting. It's the right length, weight and thickness for multipurpose duty. The 3V makes it very tough and also good edge holding. The DBK boys have done lots of testing of 3V for hard use. Not JoeX style hard use, just regular hard use. I would probably convex the last 3/16 inch and make sure it finishes around 17 degrees to give it better wood carving and multipurpose cutting.
I've had mine for a week now and still not really used it, it's just too beautiful! And I'm not one for aesthetics usually. Cost me £220 GBP delivered which is insane value I reckon.

i was about to pull the trigger but $300 for a stretched T5 minus the milled one-piece scales is a stretch i just won't make.
Agree but the price is way better than a-lot of knives out there in 3v. Especially American knives in 3V. I did say it was a luxury buy for myself

Lionsteel is a very good and quality blade but it’s really expensive in Asia countries .
