You missed a reference for Puff. Another reference is that: when she faces C. Falcon, Luigi, Ness & Jigglypuff, those 4 were also unlockable fighters in Smash 64.
A minor note about Fox that wasn't mentioned: The reason for Master and Crazy hand being the final boss is because it's the closest to represent fighting Andross when he's a floating head and floating two hands.
For Pikachu's Classic mode route, there is also a subtle reference with the Mewtwo fight. The fight takes place in Final Destination and has Pokemon Red / Pokemon Blue Medley play in the background, which is also what happens with Mewtwo's unlock fight in Melee.
I will say I did consider it, but a lot of them just felt posed as neat pics to end on rather than any kind of references. Of course there are exceptions, but many weren't pointing at anything.
@@aaricbro. I honestly think that Giga Bowser should be replaced by Fury Bowser. I hate that Bowser's final smash is a Smash Original thing, instead of a reference. I do find it interesting that Porky wasn’t brought back as a boss fight, even if it was just for Ness and Lucas. He’s the only boss from brawl not referenced.
Luigi’s battle against Wireframe Little Mac and Game & Watch could be based on the horror trope of faceless people, or more broadly leaning on the concept of the Uncanny Valley.
For Captain Falcon's route, I really wished they had him fight against fighters that referenced various F-Zero racers like red biker alt Wario with a sword as Samurai Goroh, Metal Captain Falcon as Mighty Gazelle, red or white alt Zero Suit Samus as Jody Summer, etc and have the final boss be Ganondorf in his darkest alt as Black Shadow much like his spirit fight
Blood Falcon, too! With how often Dark Link is acknowledged as a separate character in Classic Mode, it's a shame that arguably the only other F-Zero representative, and one of the few playable villains in Smash, doesn't get acknowledged once. Samus should've fought Galleom as a boss to reference giant robots like Quadraxis, Mecha-Ridley or even Mother Brain's final form. It's so lame that so many final fights are just freakin' Master Hand. Fox at least makes sense since Andross is basically another hand boss.

We missed an opportunity to add Falco referencing Star Fox Adventure. I know normally Fox fight Andross alone, but in the end of Adventure (SPOILER WARNING!!!), Falco comes out from nowhere and help Fox to defeat Andross.
We can all agree that Ultimate’s classic mode is the best since each character has there own unique classic mode route with many references relating to character or their series.
I think that Giga Bowser was also kinda going with the trend of flagship nintendo series, as he represents the Smash series, the only person you fight in his classic mode that is from smash
Maybe it was too obvious to mention, but the (New Donk) City theme in DK's route is a reference to the original Donkey Kong arcade game, in which DK kidnapped Pauline (who is now mayor of New Donk City and appears in the stage). This scenario in turn was obviously inspired by DK's namesake King Kong, who kidnapped Fay Wray in New York City.
Nice to see someone do this properly, really enjoying it. Figuring out why Wireframe Mac was in Luigi’s Route was so clever, great trivia too on the two Links in co-op Jigglypuff Route. Wish the English version also referenced Ness’ homesickness
Actually, Ridley is more qualified for the role of main antagonist of the metroid series as the term "Antagonist" is simply the person or force constantly getting in the way of the protagonist's goal, and isn't nessicarily the protagonist's main objective or threat.
She's only the antagonist in three of the games (Yes, Other M counts), but Ridley has been in all of them except for Metroid 2 I believe, assuming that we count the new Ridley fight added into Samus Returns. Sammy also has a much more personal vendetta against Ridley

i think you fight Dark Link on the Temple stage with the Great Temple music playing since the Temple stage is based off Zelda II and the music is from the final dungeon, where you fight Dark Link.
It’s possible for Luigi’s Classic Route, the wireframe Little Mac could be some kind of invisible man and Mr Game & Watch could be some sort of large dark evil shadow. I just thought it would fit.
Additionally: Fox and Samus appearing in Jigglypuff's Classic Mode especially during the fights against Yoshi and Kirby are a reference to the original fights against those two being hoard battles in Smash 64's Classic Mode. Also Jiggs' fight against Luigi, Ness, Capt. Falcon and Jigglypuff with a bow is a reference to them being the four unlockable characters in the original Smash 64, as well as a reference to the fighting polygon team whose attacks and appearances were loosely based on the original cast of Smash 64 and are also fought against four enemies at once and on the version of Battlefield in the original game as well, as one of the last fights in that Classic Mode. Still somewhat of a bummer they don't let Mario start off his fight with a Metal Cap as the final missing reference to the original Classic Mode...
it's likely been said before, but in jigglypuff's route, the fight on battlefield is referencing the fighting polygon team, since you fight the characters which the fpt were based on.
A little thing for Jigglypuff is that the 4 characters you fight near the end are the four unlockable characters from 64, but then again, that's kinda obvious

As for the Classic Mode Origins for Melee, be sure to mention that if Peach’s route is played with 2 players, the second Bowser is in the blue costume, referencing Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels.
Actually Fox's boss fight with Master Hand and Crazy Hand is the reference to Andross the main antagonist of the Star Fox series.
No it doesnt since the SSBwiki page never confirmed it.
12:56 isnt that orange jumpsuit with the ninja headband a naruto reference?
Aaronitmar: This character also love a Horde Of bananas...
Aaronitmar: IS THERE SOMEONE WHO ALSO LOVE BANANAS
Me: That makes me...
Aaronitmar: I’m Done 😡
Me: Haha Spongebob References
I'd argue that Samus fighting the R.O.B. team could potentially also be a reference to The Subspace Emissary, as Samus's entire story thread up until entering Subspace is either in the Research Facility or the Subspace Bomb Factory, both inundated with R.O.B. units as enemies.
1:56 Mario columbus
Guys look at the thumbnail Mario overalls looks like it's smiling
I can’t unsee it and I don’t know if that’s a bad thing or not
I feel like leaving out the pictures at the end of the credits was a bit of a missed oportunity.
If that's the case, maybe he could make a separate series focusing just the pictures at the end of classic mode? But yeah, would've love to see that.
