What's the Maximum number of Pianta Parlor Tokens in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door?

- Why did I do this to myself? ...actually the answer is easy to give. I was inspired by another person. Y'all can thank King J. Rool for inspiring me to do this when he did something similar in Super Paper Mario.

I am probably criminally insane... but I'm also definitely tenacious.
Does it matter if you are criminally insane, but not breaking any law?
@@ricardoj376 I hope not
So this is what a gambling addiction looks like…
At least I got my big win
I've pondered before the concept of "True 100%"... meaning one completes the game to the point where they literally cannot get any more stuff... including stuff like reaching max money, max game tokens (huh), max stacked items, max stacked gear, etc....
And you know, just wondering how long it would take to do in any given game... not that I have the spine to do it myself, but it's an interesting concept. Just what *is* the point the player cannot get more without losing anything?
May be for the best it's not an actual category
@@PhantomAarantula I'm working to be a game dev and every so often I think about the kind of people who do these crazy things, on one hand I want to reward them for their efforts, but on the other hand I do not want to encourage this behavior (if only for their own sake if nothing else 😭)
One of the more popular ones I know of is the Perfect File on Final Fantasy 7, which means getting 99 of each item, armor, weapon and accesory in the game, plus your standard Every Quest, Boss, Superboss, minigame etc.
Taken from the guide, it mentions 10 levels of "Beating the game"
Level 0 - beat the game
Level 1 - Level 0 requirements
- purchase the Costa del Sol villa
- earn all limit breaks
- get Yuffie and Vincent
Level 2 - Level 1 requirements
- beat Ultimate/Emerald/Ruby weapons
Level 3 - Level 4 requirements
- Full set of chocobos (see notes)
- Chocobo Sage tells you everything
- Everyone's Grudge does 9999 damage to each character
Level 4 - Level 2 requirements
- at least one of each materia mastered
- all characters at level 99
Level 5 - Level 3 requirements
- at least one of each item/weapon/armor/accessory
- complete all sidequests
Level 6 - Level 5 requirements
- at least eight of each armor/accessory, unless the max is less
than eight (thanks to nephalim for this suggestion)
- max stats for each character
Level 7 - Level 6 requirements
- maximum amount of items/weapons/armor/accessories
Level 8 - Level 7 requirements
- max gil
- max experience for each character
Level 9 - Level 8 requirements
- complete set of materia
That sounds more like Max% material to me.
At least that gambling addiction paid off. Now to buy a bunch of Power Rushes.
Danger Mario is for weenies
Babe, wake up. New TTYD speedrunning category just dropped.
Worlds first(?) "Pianta Percent" run
I would lose my crap if people actually tried to make a speedrun out of this.
Can you do this again in the remake? Thanks man
I think you could just keep pressing A mindlessly, and pick up the tokens when you hit jackpot. I'm not sure how much your strategy beat this time-wise.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but since it costs 1 Token, with a 1/27 chance of getting 100, it has a net payout of 2.7 tokens by complete chance (ignoring the minor payouts)
Would love to know how many tries it took you to jackpot with your strat! You probably beat this by 3x or so. If you run the slot every 4 seconds, the blind strat is about 40-50 Pinatas/minute
I wouldn't really know how effective just pressing the A button with no discernable rhythm would be, but it would definitely be slower since you'd have to walk away from the slots every time you hit a bingo. And Don Piantas giving you only a 2 net profit per round doesn't seem worth it at all.
8:13 Nice.
You should list music used in the video description
I'll update the description next chance I have to be on a computer
The Infinite Refunds....
It pays for itself!
(Non) Criminal insanity
I'm really surprised you can hold so many, I expected 9999.
To put things in perspective, the most expensive things you can get costs 234 of them.
It really makes no sense that the limit in this game is as high as it is.
i wonder how many power rush badge could be bought with these. also if everything could then be 1 shoted.
bonetail woke up.
bonetail now rest peacefully... forever. XD
All of them.
Idk how you can hit the jackpot so consistently! How’d you manage to get good at that?
The hardest part was learning it was possible. Information online for a while was scarce, and I, for the longest time, thought it was luck. From there, it just became a matter of practice after finding a method that sort of worked.
How consistently did you hit it? Significantly more than 1/27 tries?
Imagine being that goomba watching this random guy just hit jackpot after jackpot all day for several days lol
I wonder if she's either disgusted or impressed, lol
Am I the only one that's is kind of disappointed that he didn't pause for a second at eighty thousand and eighty five piantas? :/
You know, now that I know what that number is supposed to be in leet speak, I think it'd be for the best if you were only one that was disappointed.
@@PhantomAarantula I agree. Just checking.
The slot machines sound like they're saying "anyone else? Anyone else? Anyone else? Anyone else?" because they know they have no chance against Mario
I don't hear it tbh
8:13 I honestly did not expect Nintendo to use more than a 16-bit integer here...
Yeah... why it's over 9999 is beyond me when the coin count doesn't even hit 1,000.
Level 30 with 0 stars. Let me guess that was your pit of 100 trials early run, seem to be the honest possible answer.
Correct
imaigne having 30 power rushes and killing bone tail in one attack.
Why stop at imagining it? You can make that a reality, lol
he deserves way more views
This guys gonna make a lot of cakes
At least 40
The slots are always a pain in the ass haha
Oh... it is.
Well at least you can get tons of quake hammers.
Guess at least something good came out of this grind...
You probably could of used a metronome to predict the 7
Doubt it. The metronome may be consistent, but not the time I start spinning the slots.
@@PhantomAarantula Does the position of the 7 change every time you play it? If it doesn't You can time the metronome to start after a certain time
@aheadsounds2522 No. Even if it did, it wouldn't matter if it changed the position because using a metronome would only work after lining up the three sevens which I wouldn't need a metronome to set up
I used to be proud that I finally beat crappy bird in bug fables...
I'd still be proud of that
