Bree is about half of the whole thing, Bcuz she is the shows representation of Middle America Middle Class Snobbery (the one in the group who truly embodies it in a way that is sometimes extreme) and therefore a good representative of what the show is all about, but the show is definitely more than that. The show is also the pragmatic Lynette and she is another vital lynchpin! As an Adult's Adult, she is a clear favourite of mine, she is the coolest character in the show. She is the calming masculine influence over her friends and husband, the voice of reason, the long suffering support strut without which everything would fall apart. And then of course the other vital 1 is Gabby for the drama! The other roles are up for grabs and aren't as integral to the show. But by the time we get into the 2nd season Susan has established herself as the sweet, goofball ingenue, and carved her place as the shows 4th of the 'Core 4'.

I've never seen this show but once my sister told me she had a dream that she was in the Desperate Housewives neighbourhood and she saw Gabbie shoot a kangaroo on crutches After watching this compilation it seems like something that would happen on this show

Bree was so mean in early seasons and I can not believe she felt for George. Susan is so great, the naked and Karaoke scene are priceless, she and Edie interections are always on point. I really hated Gabby and Jon. And how adorable is Mike with Susan. Miss all of them so much, season one was the best for sure.
This whole video shows how much Marcia Cross was robbed. She is the one who should have won a Golden Globe and a Emmy. Not Teri Hatcher or Felicity Huffman.
Season 2 in general was the lowest point of the entire series, the crappy Applewhite mystery that went nowhere, Bree's horrible storyline with George, Edie and Susan just going through the motions, Lynette's boring-ass job; the only saving grace of the season is Gaby and Carlos' storyline, particularly the baby and the nun subplot, and Orson and Nora's introductions near the end.
