Hey, made it to the end. Thanks for the review, it helped me make my mind up. I was after a marathon race day shoe and didn't fancy spending £260 on the Alphafly so was looking at these and I will now go and try/buy a pair of these. Good luck in your virtual New Yorker.
Thanks Scott!!! When you go try on shoes I would 100% recommend trying on a pair of Saucony endorphin speeds if possible. They run about the same price as zoom fly’s, they are a nylon plate (so softer ride), but with the 8mm drop could be a great shoe for ya. Or maybe the pros if you really going for a race specific shoe. But also as long as your training is coming along all these will work fine. Thanks for the comment man!!
Nike Zoom Fly 3 took a little bit of breaking in for me. I do like the combination of the React foam and the carbon plate though. They feel really bouncy now that I've broken them in. I really like it for tempo/threshold runs but haven't used it for a long run yet. I'm surprised you didn't have trouble reining the shoes in. I felt like the shoes propelled me forward with every step and wanted me to pick up the pace.
Lokithor haha, yeah the big drop plus the plate kinda makes you wanna do some zoomies at top speed but I did my best to resist. It’s a cool feeling though. I’m very excited for a tempo / maybe another 5k or 10k time trial 😬
Haha! Yes I made it to the end of your video which was extremely good so thanks. I have just bought my first pair of Nike Zoom Fly 3’s and will be going out tomorrow for about a 25 kilometre run. I’m not a fast runner and hope they go well for me. Thanks again.👍
I'm with you on the Nike's. I just did my first run in my first ever pair of Nike's (and first ever plated shoe) this morning! My local Marshall's had the zoom fly flyknit for $40. I thought what the hell? for $40. Nike's never fit my feet, but for some reason, the fly knit just feels good. I only had them out on a 3 mile recovery run, but they felt great. I did keep a much faster pace than my normal recovery run, but the legs feel great. Tomorrow I'm going to take them on my 6 mile speed workout, then on Sunday my 10 mile long run for the week. I'm about a week and a half from my first half marathon "race day". If the zoom fly's keep behaving the way they did this morning, I'm going to use them for my first half marathon instead of my beloved skechers go run ride 7.
Robert Morano first of all good luck on your half marathon! Sounds like you are putting in the miles. Yeah, Nike just hasn’t worked for me till literally this shoe so maybe there is hope. That’s wild you got them for $40 bucks haha. I hope they work for ya on the tempo and long run this week! ✌🏼
@@KyleMcCueRunning Thanks for the encouragement! I've had the same experience with Nike. My local marshalls has been killing it lately. Last time I was there, they had a bunch of Nike's. Pegasus, pegasus turbo, vomero 14 all gave me the same janky nike fit that I've always experienced. They also had the NB beacon 2, but none in my size. I love supporting my local fleet feet, but I also have a skechers outlet store that I have found a bunch of gems in. My wife was not pleasantly surprised when I took my daughter out for school shoes and we both came home with new pairs, but $40 is $40. P.S. set a 10k pb this morning in the zoom fly's (46:39) Just over 20 minutes shy of the 10k world record.😂 so it's looking good. Thanks again!
Robert Morano I hear ya, I do my best to hit the local shops but a deal is a deal haha. Congrats on the 10k PB! I’m around 42min so we both have a little work to do to get to world record haha.
Hey Snellen Eddy! The vest is the Nathan VaporKrar 4L hydration vest Here is the exact vest: www.amazon.com/Nathan-Vaporkrar-Hydration-Compatible-Reservoir/dp/B06XHJF94N But this is pretty pricey so check out REI outlet or something and you can find one for like $110ish probably. Thanks for the comment!
@@KyleMcCueRunning Ok i’ll look it up, thanks for the reply man! I’m training to run a marathon, so a hydration vest comes in handy :D can’t wait to run in the Zoom Fly 3’s, bet they run way better then my Asics Gel Cumulus :D but i have to admit, i just run a half marathon in them, in 1:40:00 :D
definitely looked into it. at the time when I was shopping around action cameras the insta 360 audio that I was seeing in reviews was kind of trash so that was a sinker for me. GoPro is more reliable for that. But actions cameras are getting better and better (every 3-6 months haha) so might try an insta360 cam eventually.
Great work! I’ve got the first version and looking at getting the 3. Is there much of a difference. I’m thoroughly delighted with the first version and have crushed my old Prs with them.
Kyle McCue i would say 500 to 600 Kms without any wear Mines looks as good now as when I got them sorry not sure in miles conversion Nike told me same data but depending where you run with them. I used road and light trails
Nathalie Calvano perfect 👌🏼! I should get 300-350 out of them then. I tend to get about that much. I’m mainly road these days. Thanks for getting back to me!
Hey Jason! So I tended to walk out in pretty tight shoes compared to what most runners would. I honestly find that Hoka's (Rincon 2 and Clifton Edge) run smaller than the ZF3's. That being said I always recommending trying on a pair at your local shop or if you gotta go online shopping order two sizes and send back which ever one doesn't fit.
21 miles out the box is good, I would never that. I think your speed has nothing to do with the shoe. The marathon will be fun and I look forward to the post-race video
If you are buying one shoe to do it all. Endorphin Speed hands down. If you have a daily trainer and want to buy something specifically for tempo/time trials/race day. I lean towards the Zoom Flys. Not going to lie though, Endorphin Speed is the Bees Knees man haha. You seriously can't go wrong with that shoe.
@@KyleMcCueRunning Ah, so the Zoom Fly 3 is more propulsive and bouncy, which makes it better for speed work? Or does the weight make it not a better option than the Speed?
@@ryanfortin3051 so I wouldn’t call it bouncy but def propulsive. The carbon plate I would say really helps with faster paces combined with the larger drop (10mm) in the zoom fly. I felt like the zoom flys kinda feel firm and really responsive. Where as the endorphin speed to me felt softer and cushioned with a little kick from the nylon plate. Hope that makes sense haha.
Brett Read love it ✌🏼! Appreciate it man! The average watch time on all my videos is like 4-5 minutes so sometimes I wonder if anyone sticks around haha 🙏🏼
Good luck in the NYC virtual marathon.
I made it and good luck

New subscriber after I thoroughly enjoyed your Endorphin Speed after 300 miles. Keep up the great work!
dokutaaguriin thank you! Appreciate the positive comment! I’ll keep at it for sure!! 👍🏼
Why does my left heel keep slipping on my zoom fly 3s the insides look the exact same as my eight one it is just slipping idk why
Maybe try filming yourself with your phone in slow motion and watch it back. See how the slip happens? Just a suggestion, hope you sort that out! 👍🏻
Just had the zoom 3 for Christmas. Hoping to use this for speed session and potentially races. Awesome videos too 👍
thanks! have fun on the zoom 3's!! I have really enjoyed them for all kinds of workouts.

Ever thought about getting the insta 360 camera. Invisible selfie stick and you can extend stick so it’s not so close to you.

Hey Brian! I have only run in the ZF3's so don't know on previous versions but "if it aint broke, don't fix it."
Solid run. Have a few zoom 3 tones of miles and you describe it well. Well done it’s very responsive shoe and last and last
Nathalie Calvano thanks! It’s a new experience for me, how many miles do you think I’ll get in one pair?
Kyle McCue i would say 500 to 600 Kms without any wear Mines looks as good now as when I got them sorry not sure in miles conversion Nike told me same data but depending where you run with them. I used road and light trails

Hey Kyle what's the sizing like? I heard that for zoom fly you need to go at least a half size up, any thoughts?

Love the video style man, keep it up! One question - Endorphin Speed for $160 or the Zoom Flys for $120?

Are they true to size?
Yeah, as of right now I wear a 10 in everything include ZF3. Definitely runs narrow, but I think that is true to most Nike shoes.
I made it til here good luck!!!
thanks Brandon!!!
I made it. GL in the NYC Virtual.

I really wish I liked Nikes but my feet don’t like them
Dan Runs, yeah, I’ve always been hesitant. So far these feel pretty good. But you have taken the wiser decision by letting your feet decide 🤙🏼
