The biggest problem with modern stuff is it's just not...earnest anymore. It's all meta humor, self-aware, cynical, ashamed to take itself seriously and simply be what it is. The next biggest problem is that every show seems to have ADHD nowadays, the characters are always bouncing off the walls to keep ahold of the short attention spans of modern kids.
And then there was the "educational" segment at the end where they were training the youngest Silverhawk about space to appeal to the whole rule that Saturday morning cartoons had to be Educational and Instructional. Personally, I liked those segments on this show because I was (and still am) a big-time geek when it comes to space.

+John Sourlas Current shows don't even try. They really don't. They're ridiculously dumbed-down, the action is minimal thanks to the PC police forbidding any sort of weapons, and they don't eve try to have animation as detailed as 80's cartoons. That's why Japanese anime which does keep pushing the action and detail fascinate so many kids of today who have literally never seen anything like it on TV
Not really. In all of these 80s shows the credit sequence animation is always top drawer. Then you get to the meat of the episode where the budget really shows. Recycled and skipped frames. Characters off model. Bad voice editing (wrong voice matched with wrong character). Color pallet problems etc. These shows were meant to sell toys and that's it. Seriously rewatch them with rose colored glasses removed and you'll see what I'm talking about in matter of seconds.
Man, I don't remember almost nothing about this show, but this intro song was always stuck to my mind ever since my childhood. *SCREEEEEEEEEEEEECH!!* SILVER-HAAAAWKS!
One thing I remember is when they weren't flying around they wore sweat suits. So when they went to work they fought evil in the buff. Just saying. But I loved this show. Was 1 of my favs along with Thundercats and Tigersharks.
The 80's had all the best cartoons. This show was just one of a dozen awesome Saturday morning cartoon shows. Kids today just don't have any idea of the joy and excitement of waking up early on a Saturday morning to watch your favorite shows. Then there were the toys that each show had, that made watching the shows even better. You could play with your toys, while watching those characters on tv. It was also the only time throughout the week, that my parents were ok with me watching tv for a couple of hours.
Watched this cartoon when I was a kid in the early to mid 90s. Omg the nostalgia! I remember me and my younger brother pretending to be Silverhawks, drawing down our imaginary visors and releasing our wings and pretend flying all about. Those days were fun.
This was my favorite show as a kid. Probably the most underrated intros as well. This show needs a remake. Talleyhawk's shreak still gives me goosebunps

Almost 40 years later and them pulling down the masks is still one of the coolest things I've ever seen
Gotta get out more, then. Coolest things I've ever seen involves asian vaginas and sportscars
Next to the Transformers transformation sound definite a great time to be alive!!!!!!!
Almost 40 years and i still love that guitar solo
Wow the 80s is 40 years ago right? Time flies
Trump supporters would be appalled at that statement lol
Half robot half human playing a guitar in his space ship with a hat on. Can't get more badass than that.
Does anyone remember is the guy with the guitar also had instant face mask? I'm not sure if he ever had one.
vehshibuttable His name was Bluegrass on the show. Haha
Giant cybernetic space squid... that is a vehicle. That is more bad ass *lol*

You are not alone
Lol, definitely not alone
2022 I’m 42 and same here too
Maybe this will help: It's been a synth solo all along. It was played on a keyboard, not a guitar. I guarantee it.
This is one of the most visually impressive opening sequences ever created for a cartoon
Very dynamic.
Yes!
If I’m not mistaking, I heard most of these openings from the 80’s were outsourced to studios in Japan like Toei Animation and more.
Up there with HeMan and Thundercats!!
I've heard that as well
That hawk cry... still gives me goose bumps
Me too!

Absolutely Awesome..
Tally Hawk was my favorite!
They don't make cartoon like this anymore, as long as parents keep complained about what their children watched
These guys didnt get enough love. These were the coolest toys! Shiny!
Tally Hawk!!! And the scream was why I would rush home from school. I am now 53yrs old and this intro still makes my skin crawl. ❤
Exactly. I did try rewatching a few episodes and I had to cringe.

Thundercats and silverhawks, my favorite cartoons as a kid. I still remember how much fun I had watching this on the living room floor with my brother

"TALLLYYY HHHAAAWWKKK!!!!" That screeching hawk never gets old. This is the cartoon every 80s kid would watch back then. Not today's garbage programs.

They don’t make cartoons like this anymore….Great childhood memories
True
Americans don't make this kind of 'cartoons' anymore, but it's always been here under a different category called ANIME
Quite possibly one of the greatest openings ever? Also features amazing character designs
Yeah. Typical of 80's cartoons though. Blow the whole budget on the opening and the rest never comes close....

A Q I like the g force csrtoons
Hell yeah!
Thundercats edges over them by a bit I think. They’re one of the best though

The golden age for the animation.
Theme songs yes. Animation? Naw
When all their budget go to the intros instead of the shows
