The Apple v Android debate is NEVER that serious and 2. comparing the debate to being Black in America really diminishes the very radicalized experience some Black people have. There’s a CHOICE in which phone/device you want to purchase - Black people don’t have a choice but to be Black.
This is great insight. That email was hard to listen to. I will never know or understand the full struggle of being Black in this society, but even I know that this whole argument is not that deep to compare it to racism 100% agree with your take.
I actually find Apple’s web animations when scrolling HIGHLY annoying. When I’m scrolling up and down to looking at different features and whatnot, the constant different animations drives me mad because it messes with my eyes and also it messes with my scrolling. It’s neat, but they need to cut back drastically IMO.
I don’t fault Sam for liking a phone case. You don’t have to love the company to like the cases! But I agree with Jon that you should cut off future sponsorships if the audience wants that as a business decision. But that shouldn’t mean you can’t personally use their cases 🤷♀️
Odd option out, but the battery pack for Vision Pro was a great choice! There definitely going to sell additional one and I guarantee they will have “bigger capacities” available. One battery charging while using one makes more sense then having to “disconnect” and wait for the battery to charge
As a regular listener and viewer of your shows and an Android user sinse 2012. Don't put all of us in one bucket, if I want a feature on my phone I just mod my phone or install that new feature. Don't get caught up in that iMessage nonsense, not everyone in the Android side wants iMessage. Plus if people want iMessage let them mod their devices to their will, in the end it's Apple's job to let them or not use the exploit feature. Why is Apple being lambasted about iMessage when back in the day, BlackBerry did the same thing with BBM. In the late 2000’s, you were ostracized if you didn’t have a BlackBerry and was on BBM. Friendships were affected because of that feature. From what I remember, BlackBerry came out of that argument unscathed. Facebook existed. Twitter existed. MySpace and Friendster were on their last legs and Instagram with DMs were a few years away yet. We had this issue before but holy hell I haven’t seen the interoperability debate boil over like this - to the level that that guy would have the gull to send THAT email. I am android user... have dabbled between both IOS and Android. "TRUE" android users are simply looking forward to RCS to simply make group chats better, HD media sharing and an emoji or three. There’s many more but the basics should at least be an option. Love my 13 mini but gonna get S24. Samsung seems to be the only company listening to their customers. Not perfect but they really try n offer more.

For years, many boasted about the platform allowing pirating apps, games, music, etc, sideloading porn and were unbothered by bloated, buggy hardware as long as it’s cheap.
It’s so interesting how people perceive something as simple as a messaging service. There’s so many other alternative apps that are cross platform between iOS and Android OS. Like Sam mentioned: If friends are making fun of you for having a certain type of messaging service or smartphone, people probably should get better friends. In that case, it’s not about what smartphone you have or what messaging service you use. It’s now about having critical thinking, which anyone can have with a change of perspective; and surrounding yourself with people who are less materialistic and judgmental. And if anyone feels tech companies are brainwashing all of us, maybe, but that’s all the more reason to develop critical thinking. So it’s a personal choice in the end. No one is making anyone do anything. They’re just tools. Use it how ever you like. And new friends can be made by being caring, not by having a certain type of technology. But nevertheless, interesting discussion.

It’s so interesting how people perceive something as simple as a messaging service.
There’s so many other alternative apps that are cross platform between iOS and Android OS.
Like Sam mentioned:
If friends are making fun of you for having a certain type of messaging service or smartphone, people probably should get better friends.
In that case, it’s not about what smartphone you have or what messaging service you use.
It’s now about having critical thinking, which anyone can have with a change of perspective; and surrounding yourself with people who are less materialistic and judgmental.
And if anyone feels tech companies are brainwashing all of us, maybe, but that’s all the more reason to develop critical thinking.
So it’s a personal choice in the end.
No one is making anyone do anything.
They’re just tools.
Use it how ever you like.
And new friends can be made by being caring, not by having a certain type of technology.
