  • I love creating new techniques and strumming patterns for the Flamenco guitar! It has more potential than any other instrument I know of, as it can do melody, chords and percussion all at the same time. Although guitar is not typically used with Belly Dance I think it could be, with some innovations strumming rhythm, melodic nuances and of course knowledge of the forms.

    If you start the beat with two bass notes followed by one (instead of starting with one bass followed by two) you get the “baladi” rhythm. Has a different feel to it

    Sounds so groovy. Its easy to see the passion you have for the music. I'm a long way from being as proficient as you are, but there is something invigorating about playing flamenco. It ignites a fire within to produce these sounds.

    Hey Ben , since you are a brilliant experimentalist and also that you have reached the Mid East, why not lend your ears a bit futher towards the East ?😊.Your virtuosic rendition of an old yet popular (Indian ) song called " Neele neele ambar " is sure to reach next level ,(if you may) !
    Thanks in advance ! 🤩

    That's really impressive, in the levant countries we have a similar rhythm called Maqsuum rhythm and it sounds like: "Dom tek ..... tek Dom tek" instead of "Dom tek ..... Dom Dom tek".

    Hello Ben I’m from from Arab middle eastern heritage and I would like to get your advice about a good flamenco guitar for a beginner in $500-$1000 price range?

    • @chrismuratore4451
      @chrismuratore4451 2 роки тому

      Unfortunately even a low price flamenco guitar will cost over $1,000 right now. Its just because of the materials used, not to mention the fact that almost all materials, but especially tonewoods, are more expensive right now due to the shipping problems and the pandemic.
      You may get lucky, but most of the low end, truly flamenco guitars, usually start around $1,200 or so.

      The strum, not the rhythm, surely that's apparent. Of course there's a chance this strum has been done before but I've never seen/heard it.
