Is your Hot Tub showing a 'flow sensor error'? Did you spa suddenly stop heating? These are two common hot tub service issues that we hear about frequently at The Spa and Sauna Co. that you can fix for yourself, if so desired. Why not save yourself those charges?
    1. I am getting a Flow Sensor Error.
Solution 1: If you get a flow sensor error on your hot tub, you will want to turn off your spa. Make sure your spa is full. Then you will want to pull out the filter and put the hose in the hole. Turn the hose on full blast for about 25 seconds. Then, turn your spa back on without the filter in. Turn the spa off and put the filter back in. Then turn the spa on and run your jets for a few minutes. That should remove any air that is in the lines. If that doesn’t work, you will want to try option 2, which is bleeding the pump lines.
Solution 2: If Solution 1 didn’t solve your issue, turn the power to your spa off. Open the door to the main components. Find the white PVC line that runs to the black jet pump. Loosen the union, just a little bit (not too much) with an oil filter wrench. Then while bleeding the lines, you will hear air hissing. Run until the hissing of the air stops and just water comes out.
Note: All spas need to be filled to the level indicated in their owner’s manual to prevent circulation issues and a flow sensor error. Flow sensor errors may be more likely to occur on the Caldera Kauai Paradise Series Spa because of its low profile. If you happen to have this tub - and it is a great one - be sure to keep the water level filled to the correct level and above the filter.
    2. My spa stopped heating.
Solution: Have you cleaned your filter? Dirty filters cause most of the routine and avoidable problems with spas. Get filter cleaner here: shop.spaandsauna.com/products...
You should clean your filter at least once a month by spraying water from a garden hose up and down along the pleats. Every 3 - 4 months, you will want to clean your filter with a degreaser, to ensure your spa continues heating properly. Click Here for a video on cleaning your filter.

Thank you so much for this video. I spent days trying to fx a flow error. After watching this video, I was able to remove air pockets with a garden hose. I also opened two bleeder valves next to the filters. Error went away, and now I have hot water

THANK YOU! I tried everything else (including the hose trick) and kept getting errors. Quickly unscrewed side of tub and let the air out - back to normal! Makes a woman feel awesome to fix her own hottub!

I flushed out the lines where the filters go and it started working again, then it stopped again, we have one filter that we will replace it’s not seated right it’s sticking up, would that cause the sensor A to come on?? Tu

Hi Alice, to answer your question - yes, a filter that is not seated correctly will likely cause a flow sensor error, especially if it is not seated correctly due to damage or incorrect size.

Tried Bleeding, tried the hose, jumped the line on the switch, disconnected one of the terminals on the switch. There are no obstructions. water flows fine. new filter. it goes from FLC to FLO. Should i replace the switch or is there a problem with the board?

    • @TheSpaSaunaCompany

Hi Patrick, apologies for the delay. After checking with our service team we recommend scheduling a technician to come out. FLC to FLO indicates the flow switch is likely the culprit but we can't be certain without inspection. If you are in our service area we would be happy to help.
