I remember the first time I heard the Bad Brains...blew my mind. No band ever wanted to play after these guys, they had so much raw energy, stage presence and musical skill. Insane how rad these guys were. Maybe the best punk band ever.
Bad Brains has been one of my favorite bands for 3 decades now. If you want to go back a little further, check out a band called death, 3 black brothers from Detroit making punk before there was a name for it. They set the ground work for punk / hardcore as a whole but didn't get the recognition they deserved until years latter.
Wow ! 80's Hardcore punk, love it. The Bad Brains were the most influential Punk band the 80's. Black Flag, Minor Threat, and many others, owe them a ton. Thanks for putting this up.
I first saw the Bad Brains in the 80's where else but NYC. I wish I could get in a time machine to see those shows again. It was some amazing experiences.
Thanks for doing my request! Awesome reaction! I’m 49 and use to skateboard back in the late 80’s. Bad Brains was a group I discovered through skateboarding. The I Against I album blew my mind when I first heard it back then when a friend played the cassette in the car!
The Godfather’s of hardcore music! Thank you Brains 🤘do banned in DC live from CBGB. That whole set is one of the most iconic performances in punk history.
Bad Brains is like sonic destruction. Also its very distinct in the genre because they had such a crazy style. Alot of changes in this song but it works for me.
I had the good fortune of seeing the Bad Brains live in 1985 and to this day they are the BEST band I have seen live. This song is kind of more sedate than they classic music. FYI - the Bad Brains pretty much created hardcore punk rock and were a VAST influence on punk. Yes their set was half punk and half reggae - with no break between songs - from 300 beats a min to 30. Here they are live from CBCGs in NYC in 1978 - ua-cam.com/video/Dk3MLHUsf4M/v-deo.html
I love the reaction and love that you really liked them. While not my least favorite BB songs, it is certainly not my favorite. I think Bad Brains are one of, if not the best band ever. Not just based on their incredible musical merit, but because of what they did at the time they did it. Love this!
They are true pioneers... I encourage you to go back and check out more of their music and their concert at CBGBs. I know one if the members ( can't say or he'll be pissed I mentioned him) but he'll like your review.
Bad Brains were also full blown lifer Rastafarians that made some beautiful spiritual roots reggae in the middle of their chaotic mayhem. Check out Jah Children or Rally Round Jah Throne. Just beautiful.
BAD BRAINS is one of my favorite all time bands. I've listened to them for 30 years. Seeing a young woman react to them is going to be interesting. Quickness by BAD BRAINS may be a little more "tame" and I think you'd get into that a bit more.
lead singer of rage the machine Zack de la Rocha has said that bad brains was the band that influnced him the most. Whats really mind blowing though is there are videos of bad brains playing this same music IN 1978. These guys literally invented hardcore punk genre and where decades ahead of their time. I recomend "banned in DC" and "pay to cum" by Bad Brains. In the video people in the audience are wearing bell bottoms and big collar tabs with the fro.
Bad brains!!! A necessary staple in the birth of hardcore punk rock. Now that you went this road, you should check out Agnostic Front, or maybe Sick of it All!!!
I can see you really like Bad Brains. Hey back in high school I blasted these guys all day long.Check out "Soulcraft" by them. Sorry I been gone awhile.I love your channel cutie.❤✌
Cool stuff! Look, there are lots of genres of music, and each has produced great music. Then there are bands that define genres, the first and best. But there are those true greats that come out of nowhere and can not be emulated, bands that are a genre all their own. One of those is Bad Brains. Punk? Maybe. Hardcore? Yeah, but they’re way more and nobody else is in the conversation. And they’re just better. I think one one the best albums ever made. I saw them live supporting this album when I was 16. Blew my little mind. I thought I might not make it out alive and I was fine with that.
"Pay to Cum" is their best song........The Bad Brains had a major influence on the Beastie Boys ( before the Rap days) and were even sampled on some of the Beastie Boys songs.
That video was one of the worst for SEEING the band ...but at least you can hear them . They are one of the greatest ,most powerful ,and ORIGINAL... bands to ever walk this earth .
Check out Japanese metal band Maximum the Hormone. They have Rage Against the Machine/Bad Brains vibe. They'll give you WTF experience. Check out the following links: ua-cam.com/video/beN5ep5MrdY/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/TdwT5JlH8gM/v-deo.html
Please, please react to more Bad Brains! They also have a lot of great live performances, and if you want to hear I Against I live (amongst other songs), this is great (even if the audio quality is not the best): ua-cam.com/video/Q-wgzqTKFiE/v-deo.html
I remember the first time I heard the Bad Brains...blew my mind. No band ever wanted to play after these guys, they had so much raw energy, stage presence and musical skill. Insane how rad these guys were. Maybe the best punk band ever.

Bad Brains. Best punk band ever.
no, not a bad band, but not he best punk band ever, that would be The Dead Kennedys.
James Goins i love them too, but nothing gets me off my seat like bad brains first lp. It's like mainlining pure adrenaline to me! imho!
@@chopps75 I think minor threat takes that spot. Pushing straight edge with raw punk while there's drugs epidemic is hc.
Damn I feeling old I had all their stuff. Love BB, Fishbone, Living Colour all of it BRC forever
Hell yes, that’s Black Rock Coalition for you youngun’s!
This too was the first tune I had ever heard from Bad Brains when I was a teenager, and I had the same exact reaction.
Your face says it all. Love that big smile for the mighty Bad Brains!!

Hooray to Bad Brains. Deeply revered in the underground music scene. Was lucky to see them live once...... they opened for the Beastie Boys in 1993.

The Godfather’s of hardcore music! Thank you Brains 🤘do banned in DC live from CBGB. That whole set is one of the most iconic performances in punk history.

Check out Jah Children or Rally Round Jah Throne. Just beautiful.
The Bad Brains destroy! Be sure to checkout their full live show at CBGB circa 1982! You can find it on UA-cam
Some parts of this song he sounds SO MUCH like Darby Crash from The Germs when he screams.
BAD BRAINS is one of my favorite all time bands. I've listened to them for 30 years. Seeing a young woman react to them is going to be interesting. Quickness by BAD BRAINS may be a little more "tame" and I think you'd get into that a bit more.
They are straight punk rock
I've seen them live, their amazing!!!

IT WAS THE RAGE BROADCAST \m/
"Pay to Cum" is their best song........The Bad Brains had a major influence on the Beastie Boys ( before the Rap days) and were even sampled on some of the Beastie Boys songs.
