- I tried to replicate C418's style in this song, did it work well? I personally don't know, hence the title lmao
Made in FL Studio using a whole lot of vital instances (thats why the video is total bs, vital is so incredibly CPU intensive but still so worth it)

the sounds increasing/adding on until it abruptly cuts off just to play 1 or 2 tracks is SOOOO minecraft to me, along with the big swelling starting around 1:30, very minecraft imo, also the ambient noises in the bg at the end AAAAHHHHHH

In my opinion, I think it sounds like a combination from a track of C418 “Minecraft Volume Alpha” (Floating trees track, I think) and a track from Kane Parsons “Backrooms Original Score Vol. 1” named “Missing Persons” exactly at the minute 2:09 (of Kane Parsons track), love It
This does sound similar to C418's music. It fits better compared to what music Microsoft has been pushing out recently. Good job!

C418 was perfect for what minecraft was at the time, you're put into an alien world and need to find a way to survive in it. It's a very hostile, lonely sandbox, there's not many structures or signs of previous life like you. while the music can be relaxing, it still feels like it was made for a world you're intruding on, not for the player.
the newer music fits what minecraft is now, its calm, warm, and relaxing. the world you play in is friendly and full of life. it's a much easier experience and it's pretty clearly reflected in the music, like the composers were specifically told "minecraft is a calming game, it should have calming music." (not saying the music is bad, i absolutely love it, but its certainly more geared towards newer minecraft's feel)
the music made for both old and new minecraft is amazing in my opinion, but neither would have worked as well in the other's role.
Dude, my life has been filled with minecraft. I love C418's music, but no one should be hating on Lena Raine for no good reason. I even like her music more than C418, and she somehow conveys me a sense of 2018, a sense of nostalgia.

i think for a more minecrafty sound (you're very close already!), i'd basically double the length of the song by increasing the time it takes for each instrument to come in, especially at the start

Really does feel like minecraft music definitely a bit more modern I would say that might be because there's very little negative space in the music c418 tends to utilize more silence.
It kinda reminds me of Mutation, it sounds like it would play in the End or the main menu or something
The End could definitely use more tracks, because it literally only has one song that really isn't a song, it's just 15 minutes of ambience.

The lead in to the main melody reminded me of my time playing "Please, Don't Touch Anything" and the early days of Minecraft. There's a loneliness and almost an existentialism in your piece.
