Interesting thoughts as I just met with a friend who was speaking about spirituality in way I was resisting. Literally half an hour ago. So this interests me.
It's an easy thing to do
I can relate to that resistance as well. For me, much of the resistance is because anything can become a commodity ...a " brand " , a trend .....seemingly devoid of depth, a mimicking the sacred. This is the antithesis of " spirituality or sacred ". BUT ... making assumptions that this is actually happening degrades our own experience . It distracts . And spirituality is not at all about what everyone else is doing , creating or experiencing...it is self in relation to spirit on our own timeline. My own self reflecting on this matter I think my resistance and at the same time , draw to those who wear their spirituality on their sleeve ..those who seem to have their spiritual shit together and share it, is because I want that too ... if ego is not involved . To speak and experience and share truth ...and to be understood amd loved for my truth .
AND ... sometimes people are very good charlatans ...ego infused . I guess I am cautious of those potential
situations. I also tend to be more reserved and have always been. Part of me feels like i dont need external validation for my spiriual experiences yet at times seem to crave how much sharing experiences can bring a closeness with others ..or even attention.
