Thank you for this video. I am Roman Catholic who prays the Roman-Rite Liturgy of the Hours with my friends a lot. For Christmas I thought it would be cool to buy myself and them the Agpeya so we can pray with it a few times just to experience different liturgical rites. The book didn't come with much instructions about when to prostrate, nor how to do it, and this video has been of great help.

we Ethiopian Orthodox also make the sign of the Cross from top to bottom and from left to right. because we shall be lifted from evil to good rather than from good to evil. i also wonder why Orthodox Christians in other worlds make the sign of the Cross from right to left, while a person like you also wonder why we make the Cross Sign from left to right

@Zee K the god of Islam and Judaism are not our God.
Monotheism and "abrahamic" religions mean nothing to us.
We have the Truth. We do not care to have alliances or pacts with other groups.
Muhammad was a degenerate. Talmudic Judaism has produced much of the liberalism and secularism you speak of.

No, prostrations are common in Eastern Orthodox traditions as well. Either "half prostrations" or "full prostrations." Here in this video, this wonderful Coptic monk is doing a "full prostration." Usually, those are done in threes. Meaning, three times in a row.

@@va7931 I believe, you do. Because in Eastern Orthodoxy (Serbian Orthodox is part of EO), this is full prostration. If you refer to St. Ephraim the Syrian's prayer, recited during the Great Fast, those will have full prostrations -- precisely as this Coptic monk does -- kneeling with your forehead touching the ground. Unlike the Copts, they may not make a hard-fist with their hands, but, just spread it normally. That's how they do in EO. Some, do harden their fists as this monk does beautifully and jocularly. I've seen both ways done in EO.
