    Hello and welcome to Saabkyle04! UA-cam's largest collection of automotive variety! In today's video, we'll take an up close and personal, in depth look at my 2005 Mini Cooper S 6-spd.
    During this presentation, we will take a 1st person look at what the vehicle is all about beginning with the start up, performance data, fuel economy, the occasional track data, and build quality. Also, I will teach you how to use most of the interior and exterior features in a detailed fashion, that before, you could only get from going to a dealership yourself! Throughout the video, I will highlight key styling and unique differences about the vehicle, any available options, and of course it would not be an enthusiast car video without the good ole engine portion with rev and exhaust note with interior and exterior perspectives. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
    FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE CHANNEL SEE BELOW: In this channel you will find in depth educational videos of automobiles from all over the world, presented in a more detailed fashion than ever before. Basically, this gives the viewer the chance to view the most detailed 1st person look you can get without going to an actual dealer yourself! Every video is consistent in the way I present so viewers know what to expect in my presentations. I treat every vehicle with the same respect whether a 1960 Chevrolet Impala SS or the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador. I film all types of vehicles from past, present, and future while broadening the knowledge of the automotive enthusiast. You will see everything from vintage, brand new, exotic, mainstream, old, etc. I am very proud of this channel and have built it up from amateur videos years ago to what you see today. I wanted to share my love for the automotive world with the rest of the world. Be sure to explore the massive video variety, have fun and enjoy The Driver's Seat of UA-cam!

      I'm gonna get a gen II JCW, and that will be the last Mini I buy because everything after that has drifted too far away from the original Mini.

    I have been driving a 2011 R56 Mini Cooper with the 1.6L non-turbo 4-cylinder engine and 6-speed manual since late March and after a while I began to finally get the hang of driving a stick shift! The car that I have used to belong to my dad, and he has been teaching me how to drive a stick for the past five months!

    I adore my 2005 mini. Wow! It will be 20 years old next year. It has 183,000 miles on it and does need some TLC. But I'd rather pay to fix it than get a new car. It drives and feels like a dream. People who hate minis obviously don't own one.

    Saabkyle04, that was an EXCELLENTLY detailed, thorough and informative video of the 2005 MINI Cooper S. I do have one small critique: you forgot to mention the "convenience opening" feature of it, which is another awesome aspect of the MINI Coopers :) . Nevertheless, because of your review, I was convinced to purchase one and have enjoyed it ever since. Thank you so much!

      Hey man, how does the mini compare to your boxter? I’m looking at a first Gen mini right now. I thought about getting a boxter so I’m torn. I did also own a second generation mini Cooper s and loved it. Can you share some experiences so far?

    • @nowphoenix
      @nowphoenix Рік тому +1

      @@gary_michael_flanagan_wildlife FWIW, I'm selling my Mini S. Loved it, but the ride for me got a bit too harsh for the roads in my local area. I loved my Boxster...like, A LOT. But got into my very first accident EVER in it, thus the Mini. Truthfully, I'd snag another Boxster. If you don't need the spaciousness, you can't fault a Boxster. It was a great daily driver and my maintenance costs, sadly, aren't much different than the Mini. I now own a 2012 LR4 that has been relatively issue-free.

    • @gary_michael_flanagan_wildlife
      @gary_michael_flanagan_wildlife Рік тому

      @@nowphoenix thanks for your feedback. What is an LR4? I’m debating a newer mini convertible to replace my lifted Jeep. I like the open top feel and handling. I also own a Z06 corvette so I don’t really need power. I’ll definitely consider a boxter too

    This has been a great video, Kyle ! Loved the onboards and your driving impressions ! And I'm saying this as a person who's really not very much into Minis. I always thought prices were way too high, plus the fit and finish wasn't really what I expected from a BMW brand. But I loved driving the convertible and being greeted by other Mini drivers, especially girls ;)

    Just seen this as it is identical to a 2003 R53 which I had for 4 years. Same colour and I also had chrome mirror caps (optional in UK) and I replaced the front grille and boot handle with chrome versions from the standard MINI Cooper which I think made the car more distinctive. Fond memories and the little R53 with its whining Supercharger was more characterful than the turbo R56 that replaced it. The later car was however a lot more torquey and economical. Current F56 too bloated and IMHO has lost the MINI character so I now run a BMW i3s - somewhat different and really fun to drive albeit without the go kart handling of a MINI.

    I like this new aproach, it is better then the regular videos that you make, those are a bit boring sometimes, but this one, even it has 30 minutes, it is great to watch, maybe you can make more often videos like this :)

    • @saabkyle04
      @saabkyle04  10 років тому +1

      I wish I could, I would have to get away from doing so many videos at dealerships. It frusturates me how my potential is so limited sometimes. With the freedom to have a car for a few hours, I can create an epic video. I have a yellow 2002 Dodge Viper RT/10 Roadster coming in the next 1-2 weeks that is shots and edited exactly like this, maybe even slightly better. This should show people, who take the time to watch it, what I'm truly capable of as far as a polished, professional, and entertaining car video for the every day enthusiast!

    Love my 2005 R53S,it's my second one. The first one thru a plug and the dealer wanted over $5k to repair. I did find a used ,low mileage head ,for $500.00,but could not find a mechanic to undertake the labor intensive (25Hrs.) job. I sold it as was ,then bought another R53I do love them, but be sure to keep a sharp eye on the sparkplug torque.Check the Forums,it's a far too common problem.Quirky-and a big pain in the ass.

      @ModMINI 9 років тому +1

      Dave Bathie Sorry you were a dealer victim. 25 hours? Replacing the head is a 5-6 hour job and only moderately difficult to do yourself. Yes, the plugs can back out especially if they were installed gingerly.

    I usually don't suggest videos but i remember you saying you'd like to try a vlog series of updates to engage the audience and stuff. it would be really cool if you included personal car mileage updates, and stuff, and maybe even did the vlogs from the cars either while moving or stopped. kinda like a saabkyle hangout thing because you have some pretty unique cars i think plenty of people would love to see around. kinda like way back when you used to do startups or updates on certain dealer cars back in the day.

      I think it would make a great first car. Not killer on insurance, fun to drive and gets good gas mileage. Try to find one with low mileage or good service records. Thanks a lot!

    I have watched many of your videos but I didn't recall this one. But now I just purchased a 2004 R53 which looks very similar to yours. I actually like your chrome/silver grill and wheels more than my color keyed grill and white wheels.
    The other thing I noticed was how much cleaner and rust free your car is underneath. Mine only has 15,193 miles on it but it was in Minnesota and the underbody shows the difference from North Carolina.
    Wondering what I can do to clean up the underside and what I might be able to do to limit rust. I'm wondering if I bought a low mileage rust bucket

      +Ricky Hogan 2005 MCS is one of the latest minis with supercharger. In this case it's much more reliable than 2002-04. Just bought one and I'm quite lucky as the supercharger belt is replaced as well as the clutch as these parts are essential to be in a good condition.
      Check the Mod MINI videos he'll tell you what to chek when you buy used cooper.

      +Saabkyle04 Ok, I was wondering :p
      And I would like for you to consider installing an aftermarket, if you do I sugest a full Milltek exhaust sistem, but I don´t know if they are pricey with shipping and all of that

    • @saabkyle04

      Alex Matias Yeah they are a bit pricy, doubt I'll do anything to it aside from maybe upgrading the clutch later this year, who knows :P
