Your welcome David Butler, I gotta get pit footage of your Vega wagon at the finals, for some reason my GoPro files were corrupt…..smh…..I did a walk around of your sharp looking Vega & a young lady said it was sold but you found it & bought it back. Cool story 👍
Watching s/s is like watching a car show. So much more interesting than the pro classes. The fss cars are the way the prostock cars should look but oh well.
This is the real deal, much more pleasing to watch than boring Pro Stock - such a diverse range of brands and models, but at the end of the day,I'll still be backing any Mopar - win or lose.
In SuperGas & SuperComp ( 9.90 & 8.90 ) index classes they use a “ Timed throttlestop “ to keep the cars from breaking out or going faster than the class index which eliminates you if you do. Without the timed throttlestop a lot of these cars will run a whole second under there index.
@@frank-xp6pj Thanks , I guess I have never seen this before. It seems a little anti climactic on the starts but I get it. When I raced bikes an eon ago we took care of that at the top end. Mike
@@N-Scale yep, I remember back at the 1987 NHRA SummerNationals in Englishtown NewJersey the SuperGas & SuperComp cars didn’t have those timed throttlestops & in my opinion it was much more entertaining to watch as a spectator. If a racer was known to dip below the 9.90 index a little then he would get off on the top end before going through the traps or a lot use to tap the brakes on the top end BUT soon it became easier/ more affordable to go faster & it was dangerous to hit the brakes on the top end…..I remember SuperGas standout Vonnie Mills flipped her Beretta on the top end back in the day at the NHRA GatorNationals….I think National Dragster said she hit the brakes & they locked up on her at the top end.
Was that John Angeles in that SS/IA 69 FB? I didn't see if that was a qualifier or eliminator. Glad to see him still running. (Or at least keeping it in the family.)
@@joe3times503 , its call a throttle stop, the throttle stop is set on a predetermined timer based on how quick the car runs under the index, if not on a throttle stop the car would run to quickly and breakout, the whole goal as you know is to try and run the perfect 9.90 index. Can be Challenging to achieve, but boring as heck to watch, same as super comp and super street. BORING as watching paint dry!
Love watching all of your drag racing videos. The best on UA-cam 😊
good vid, but i hate delay boxes.
Thanks bro 👍

@@frank-xp6pj I guess so as My Kawasaki triple was only good for 14.02 back then !!!

Nothing like seeing all the big 3 represented. Mopar or no car
Man those cars are bogging bad off the Line
Yeah the timed throttlestop classes do that….8.90, 9.90 & 10.90.
Anyone know why pretty much all the Super Gas cars bogged down on initial launch? Is that something they do? Doesn't seem right
Delay box. If the car will run say 9.50, they will "delay". 40 to get it to 9.90

Yes. Thank you.
@@BM-xj8kr just so you know the only way to win in the super classes is to have the better package which is your et and reaction time combined
