Great video! I was afraid I was going to have to replace a rather large, rather high ceiling fan that suddenly stopped responding. Wouldn't turn on with the wall switch or the remote. Changed the remote batteries, turned everything off and then back on. No luck. Finally switched the remote switch - the tiny one under the battery cover from "I" to "O" and back to "I". With the all the power ON, pushed the "LEARN" button again. And it was a Memorial Day Miracle! The fan started tweeting and everything works again. Saved me a ton of money and also now cooler on the first hot weekend on the year. 😅
That’s crazy! I’ve gone months without a working remote. Mine doesn’t have a learn button but changing the position of the #1 switch did it. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for the video. Just a heads up. If your remote does not have a learn button but have toggle switches. Press and hold your light button on the front to reset. That was the little difference in my remote
My remote was intermittent. Replaced with a new remote+receiver combo, easy. Same problem again. Tried installing with the receiver antenna placed outside of the fan housing and then it worked perfectly.
Hi there! I'm having a little problem with my new Harbor Breeze Summersville ceiling fans, model 42192. I bought two of these for my porch. I installed the first one with no problems. The remote works perfectly well. Today I installed the second one. The second remote works ...but it's also controlling the first fan. The remote for the first fan only affects the first fan. The remote for the second fan controls BOTH fans. Both fans are identical models and are both on the same circuit. Any ideas on how to make the second remote control ONLY the second fan? Many thanks!
I have this exact fixture but it came with a different remote. After 6 years, the remote completely stopped working. I wonder if I order the remote you have, if I can get it to pair with my fixture 🤔
Change the battery or take the battery out leave it out for a few seconds and then put it back in that worked for me🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 I don't have such a fancy remote but there are no toggle switches and I don't have anything inside the remote to reset. I'm assuming it's just a low battery I'm going to replace it soon but taking it out is what fixed it for now
Looks great, and with a brighter bulb installed that’s all the light you need. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxWF88GpljEn-0o34vtLFazEQ5h5Q33SjU As far as ease of installation- this was my first ceiling fan and it took about 3 hours because I had no idea what I was doing and also it’s helpful to have a second set of hands and a magnetic drill bit. Works great.
No problem at all! While we'll miss playing musical lights between the bedroom and living room, it'll be exciting to have everything working correctly.
I had the same issue. Tried everything even. Gave up and held the light button because mine doesn’t have a reset button and after about 10 seconds the light flickered and it paired
Mine has a slow drain so it’s just a battery killer. And nothing lights up when you press the buttons. Only lights up for a few seconds after installing a new battery. 😢
Remote controls the fan, but the light doesn't turn on/off. It's stuck on, so if the wall switch is on (and I can control the fan w remote) the light is on no matter what. This means the only way to turn off the light is to flip the wall switch which kills the fan
I have a remote like yours. It does operate the fan & light but my question has to do with the blue backlight behind the words "harbor breeze". Is this light supposed to be on all the time or supposed to turn off after a while? Mine stays on all the time.
@@happycamper8354 the light on ours is brighter when the batteries are new. After awhile though, the blue backlight gets dimmer but the remote still works.
Thought you might want to know that the link above for your website is spelled incorrectly. You have "advice" as "adevice" and that sends the user to no where land!
These instructions do not work for me. My remote has no "learn" button that I can find. It has only 1 dip switch that can be turned to "D" or "CFL," but I don't know what those abbreviations mean. Oh, and the only thing that doesn't work is the light; I can turn it on at the wall switch, but the remote won't turn it off, so I can't use the fan while sleeping.
@@cesarmalaga2 This didn't work for me. Maybe I didn't understand you correctly. Did you mean to turn the device off with the wall switch? Or to turn the power off at the breaker? Or perhaps something else?
Regardless of how many different ways I ask. "There is no reset/learn button in my remote" your video is always the first up, and it still doesn't help.
If you don't have the button, just power your fan off. Once it is completely off, turn it back on then hold the"O" button at the bottom and your fan light should begin to blink. It should be programmed after this. To power down, use the wall switch or breaker (if breaker you'll likely need two people).

gonna try this now... thanks !
Resetting with the paper clip worked. Saved me so much grief and $$$.

Thank you for this. My 2 yr old grandson “reprogrammed” my fan. This short and sweet video showed me how to reset. Much appreciated!!!

Thank you! We won't get to play musical lights between the bedroom and living room anymore, but having everything work correctly will be fun too.
Awesome! Thanks for posting this. I lost my instructions and glad I was able to find your video.
*Easy install, so far Works great **Fastly.Cool** !*
Just used this method and worked first try thanks for making such a good video
Whoooo thank you, been cooking in the dark at our Airbnb all week. 😅
My remote that looks like that doesn’t have a learn button and the receiver doesn’t have dip switches. What do I do?
Thank you so much!!! Been without my ceiling fan in the living room for over 6 months. now we're back in business. Lol
I've fixed my fan at least three times with this video... thank you so much
The answer is at 1:54al!!! Thank you! It worked😊

Genius thank you my remote is working now 🙌🏾 🎉
Worked like a charm! Thank you

Does the light have to be on first, before you turn off the wall light switch and turn it back on before the learn mode?
The first one was very helpful thank you
Nice to hear that
@@imintodecor Mine still doesn't work, no matter what I try. I had to sleep all night with the light on so I could keep the fan on. :(
What exact type of fan is this? I have this exact one and the dome has cracked. Looking for a replacement. Thanks!
Thank you for this! I thought my remote was broken but this worked!!
I don’t seem to have a learn or reset button. I just have the four dip switches . Anyone know what to do
Did you figure it out? I've been without my fan all summer! So annoyed 😢
it worked, brother. thanks so much
My ceiling fan is stuck on. The fan itself won’t turn off and neither will the light. Remote isn’t responding at all.
Yeah same here
I have the same problem. Were you able to fix it? If so, how?
Same

thanks for the video! it was a big help.
If there’s no reset button just flip the one switch and press the light button at the same time
I turned off power..then back on. Held light button down. Synced up
Why the blue battery light stays on
