@@TJ_TDOG I can’t say I have multiple specific criticisms. I saw it in theaters and very much enjoyed it. A couple weeks after it dropped on Peacock, I rewatched it and still very much liked it. I’d say that shows how much I like the films above it.

Your top 10 2024 movies was really good. The only one I would have switched out is The Substance, and I would have slotted in Ultraman Rising, but that's just because I did not see the substance. Here's my thoughts/issues with Woman of the Hour. You're correct in that the serial killer rabbit hole was super interesting to go down, but this WHOLE movie was about Anna Kendrick and her character who ultimately did not matter to the story of this killer or his poor victims. We spent SO long focused on her struggling acting career (which never even happened) and her sad, creepy, "friend zoned" neighbor) and nowhere near enough time on the actual story of the killer outside of cutaways. Kendrick's character had so little to do with the real story that they had to fabricate a whole parking lot confrontation, when in reality she just made a phone call and said "I don't wanna date this jabroni." The story should've been about the victim who actually succeeded in stopping him, with the same cutaways to his other victims. The dating game side plot is a 10 minute "huh, interesting" tidbit at most.

145 is my in theater all time record (back when I worked for a Regal). It's a hefty task. This year I didn't even watch 100 new releases I don't think, but still saw a good amount. Hate that I saw most of them at home though. The in theater thing is disappearing, and it's sad.

Couldn’t rank everything I saw, but alien Romulus for me absolutely killed it, best film of the year, most fun time I’ve ever had in a cinema! Other standout was civil war, I don’t understand how this movie isn’t praised more, absolute masterpiece. Aaand also man I thought the quiet place prequel was terrible, so hard disagree on that placement.

On the Trump Movie "The Apprentice" This movie was fantastic and incredibly fair depiction of Trumps character. Unlike the Napolean movie of last year, this did not come off as an attack or a misrepresentation of his character or who he really is. Sebastian Stan really embodies Trump and truly nails his performance. The movie shows a young smart killer who gets a few strokes of luck, but they are created by his mellon sized balls, tenacity and grit. Whether you love or hate him, Trump is no cupcake and is a viscious but charming person who gets what he wants. Yes, there were a few things in the movie that we dont know if they really happened, so the director took creative license, but it was all believable whether you are a Trump supporter or not. Excellent movie, go out and watch it.

Thanks for the video, surprised you like Gladiator 2 and Bad Boys Ride or Die so much, I thought they were really disappointing sequels compared to the films just before them in the series
I rewatched Ordinary Angels (with my wife...her first viewing) right before doing this ranking and it probably shot up 20 spots because of that. But that could just be a version of recency bias things. Honestly with 144 movies, I didn't rewatch that many of them besides when I watched some of them twice opening week. I don't usually rewatch a movie unless I'm watching it a second time because I couldn't take my wife to the press screening.

@@TJ_TDOG I can’t say I have multiple specific criticisms. I saw it in theaters and very much enjoyed it. A couple weeks after it dropped on Peacock, I rewatched it and still very much liked it. I’d say that shows how much I like the films above it.

I was going to say that I would love you to do a bond ranking one day. But I found that you did one a few years ago! I am watching now.
Here's my thoughts/issues with Woman of the Hour. You're correct in that the serial killer rabbit hole was super interesting to go down, but this WHOLE movie was about Anna Kendrick and her character who ultimately did not matter to the story of this killer or his poor victims. We spent SO long focused on her struggling acting career (which never even happened) and her sad, creepy, "friend zoned" neighbor) and nowhere near enough time on the actual story of the killer outside of cutaways. Kendrick's character had so little to do with the real story that they had to fabricate a whole parking lot confrontation, when in reality she just made a phone call and said "I don't wanna date this jabroni." The story should've been about the victim who actually succeeded in stopping him, with the same cutaways to his other victims. The dating game side plot is a 10 minute "huh, interesting" tidbit at most.

145 is my in theater all time record (back when I worked for a Regal). It's a hefty task. This year I didn't even watch 100 new releases I don't think, but still saw a good amount. Hate that I saw most of them at home though. The in theater thing is disappearing, and it's sad.

Couldn’t rank everything I saw, but alien Romulus for me absolutely killed it, best film of the year, most fun time I’ve ever had in a cinema! Other standout was civil war, I don’t understand how this movie isn’t praised more, absolute masterpiece.
Aaand also man I thought the quiet place prequel was terrible, so hard disagree on that placement.

Incredible movie.
On the Trump Movie "The Apprentice"
This movie was fantastic and incredibly fair depiction of Trumps character. Unlike the Napolean movie of last year, this did not come off as an attack or a misrepresentation of his character or who he really is.
Sebastian Stan really embodies Trump and truly nails his performance.
The movie shows a young smart killer who gets a few strokes of luck, but they are created by his mellon sized balls, tenacity and grit. Whether you love or hate him, Trump is no cupcake and is a viscious but charming person who gets what he wants.
Yes, there were a few things in the movie that we dont know if they really happened, so the director took creative license, but it was all believable whether you are a Trump supporter or not.
Excellent movie, go out and watch it.

Thanks for the video, surprised you like Gladiator 2 and Bad Boys Ride or Die so much, I thought they were really disappointing sequels compared to the films just before them in the series

Did you have any films that changed your thoughts for better/ worse after a 2nd viewing in 2024?
I rewatched Ordinary Angels (with my wife...her first viewing) right before doing this ranking and it probably shot up 20 spots because of that. But that could just be a version of recency bias things.
Honestly with 144 movies, I didn't rewatch that many of them besides when I watched some of them twice opening week.
I don't usually rewatch a movie unless I'm watching it a second time because I couldn't take my wife to the press screening.
