I personally only like the taste of homemade rice crispys the store bought ones I find has a different taste to them that I don’t like
Y'all are just the sweetest 💜
I used to make these a lot when my kids were little. Now I make them with my grandkids and we have made them with food coloring in the marshmallow and putting melted chocolate on top. I made your rolls for Easter dinner. They are always a big hit with my family. Hope you had a blessed Easter 🐣🐇🌸
Have you ever added vanilla to your marshmallows ?
You guys are adorable!!!
I love your videos. You are so sweet and natural! Thank you for this great content 😉
I don't put butter in mine, it makes it soggy. But the boxed one has sort of an after taste from the preservatives in them. But everything tastes better homemade. You can add any type of flavoring, coloring, candies, etc.
A non stick cooking pan works best and add some vanilla before you add the rice krispies. Running your hands under really cold water is better than butter on hands. There is no taste comparison my kids tell me.
Homemade Rice Krispy treats are always better than store bought. 😊
Yea they taste chewy and good
Yep so tasty I have wondered how much better they would taste if I took the time to actually make the marshmallows from scratch too
I’ve only had homemade once and I can’t remember how they taste. Are they really better than store bought? If so I’m going to convince my mom to buy the stuff and help me make some.
My mom’s trick is to always add more marshmallow and more butter than the recipe says. Usually makes them pretty tasty LOL
Try browning your butter for your rice crispy treats. Oh my word! It takes them to a whole new level! -Valerie
Sure does!!
I will have to try that Valerie! Thank you for the tip!!
Now I need to try browning the butter. Have your tried "burnt butter" frosting?
Next time I make them, when the grandchildren come by, I will try that. Sounds good for sure.
@@marilynkozlow8400 It is delish!!
I always add a tsp of vanilla to the melted marshmallows. My recipe calls for it.
Mine too
I personally think the pre package ones taste like the wrapper they come in .🤣 Making them at home is always better and even more when your kids help !
Mamma Duck I agree nothing is better than home made.
Now I’m craving rice crispy treats 🤤
You can also make them with fruity pebbles or cocoa pebbles. They are more sweet, but the flavor difference is really fun.
Hands down, homemade is better! I can always taste the preservatives, yuck! And real butter is key!
Homemade all the way. ❤ I sometimes add in m&ms . Yumm
Please do a video sometime with your bakeware/ cookware. I love your pots & pans. Love your videos, please keep them coming! ❤️
I agree! I've wondered what pots and pans they have for every now.
Yes!! That would be great!
Great video idea! 😀
Oh, I can definitely tell the difference..lol I think the store bought are sweeter, and not in a good way. I only like them homemade. Which by the way reminds me, I should go make some! Lol Thanks, Jennifer.:))) 🌼👍🌷
Yours looked so much more moist and "marshmallow-y"
You can make them fancy by dipping them in melted chocolate chips on an angle and add sprinkles!!! For special occasions. You can also cut them in an ice cream shape, add a popcicle stick and dip in colored baking bark to make Summertime treats for the grandkids! ! ENJOY!! My Mom made ours with PB added to the marshmallows, then melted chocolate chips on top, put it in the fridge to cool....and oh boy, were they good!!! 😋💖 Nice memories!!!
I took different color peeps and made Rice Krispies treats for grand kids and took fruity pebbles made krispie treat shaped a bunny rabbit they loved it
My mom always adds extra marshmallows, they're the best that way. Now I really want Rice Krispies treats lol
Just to play devils advocate, the foods to used to make the treats have preservatives. Homemade is always the way to go to save money and usually taste. Convenience costs you😊❤️
If you add 1 tsp. of vanilla to the melted marshmallows if really enhances the flavor.
Pour melted chocolate (chips)over them right after you make them.
You guys I sure enjoy your channel. Have a blessed day guys💗 BTW love the pic on Instagram. Linda sure is beautiful.
You don't know me, but I'm one of the haters of rice Krispies treats. I HATE marshmallows. 💁♀️
Traditionally in the uk, our rice Krispy treats are not made with marshmallows. We make ours with butter, golden syrup, rice Krispys and a large bar of chocolate. At Easter, we make them into little nest shapes and add Cadburys mini eggs and a little fluffy Easter chick toy.
In the U.S. we make those nests too and do the same with the Cadbury eggs and a Marshamallow Peep.
Mmmm
That sounds so good. What is golden syrup?
You can also make the chocolate nests with cornflakes, we also make treacle cornflake tart with custard for a dessert simply warm golden syrup add to cornflakes and bake in a pastry case pour over custard it's delicious..
I love these things. I don’t make them or buy them anymore, but if someone offers me one I will take it in a heartbeat. You, however, might have just inspired me to make a smaller portion.❤️
Go for it Ruth,!!!!!!!
Watching you eat the leftovers from the pan is everything!
You guys should do more of such comparison videos (store bought V/S home made - which is cheaper). I really love this. Love you guys.😊😊👍
The entire time chad was upstairs I’m like eat it and tell us! Lol we love homemade but sometimes the quick pick up the box method is what we have to go with.
Me too, Amanda lol 🤗
I like the taste of store bought better. I’ve found if you add a little vanilla to homemade makes them taste like them .
I don't make those very often but I like to add a little vanilla extract to the mix.
I have to go to the supermarket tomorrow and I think I know what’s going on my shopping list :) haven’t made these with my kids in forever! Yum
Grandma i spray my pot all over inside before melt my butter that help my marshmallows don't stick on the side and easy to wash later or after left over eating it . for wash just add hot water and wet few minutes all stick will gone .
😂😅
The pan is the best treat. However, did you add the Vanilla Extract to the treats.
I make them with butterscotch chips.
We make these with butter, mars bars and Rice Krispiest then cover them in the pan with melted chocolate - can’t have too much chocolate.
SUPER chewey and scrummy. 👌. 🐢
Pre-measuring the rice krispys and putting them into a bowl is genius! I’m always counting them out loud so I don’t lose track while mixing at the same time. Never again!
Chad is a superb taste-tester! Your homemade RK treats will cost even less per bar if you buy the store brand marshmallows and rice cereal. No difference whatsoever in taste, just in price/savings.
There is a no sugar no carb version of this recipe also on Pinterest for ppl trying to keep there weight under control
thanks for sharing that ! would be good for trying to lose baby weight haha have a good day 🌷
@@adriannamaria2109 your welcome
My mom always added a big spoon of peanut butter to the melted marshmallows...yum. You could try chocolate chips😁😁😁
😆, chocolate chips. Melt chocolate chips and spread on top is good too!!
Hi jennifer and Chad from ENGLAND 🇬🇧going to make these instead of buying them ..my grandaughter who's 12yrs will love them I'll make them with her ..love your channel xx👍💖
DEFINITELY prefer the homemade ones. You can taste the preservatives on the store bought ones...
I think the store bought taste like chemicals. Tried them once, yuk!! I have a recipe where you double the butter and marshmallows and leave some of the marshmallow "chunky".....OH MY!!!!
Good video -- LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Rice Krispies Treats! Funny cuz I eat the left-overs out of the pan also! Can't let that deliciousness go to waste!
Hi Jennifer and Chad. I also love ricekrispy treats .I use a tsp. of vanilla in mine sométimes. Great comparison. I think home made are 100 times better. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day. Love from Ontario, Canada🍁💛🍁💛🍁
To flatten them in the pan I spray a piece of wax paper with cooking spray and smooth them out with that. It works amazing. Marshmallows are so sticky!!
My friend send me some bags of Kellogg's product. After checking the product, I throw them to dustbin immediately. I cannot understand why the product made in USA but have no any information about the expired date as well as manufactured date. Everybody should be careful and avoid Kellogg's.
I always use 4 tablespoons of butter, one pkg of marshmallow, and 6 cups of rice cereal..... perfect every time! Also the packaged one taste like chemicals.
Hey you two LOVE BIRDS! Have you tried these with Peanut Butter and a few Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips? Pretty darn good for sure. I have to tell you that you make me smile and it is so cool to see people my age having a ball together,. Thanks for keeping it real, as always. Love & Hugs from my home to yours!
Hi there, an odd request, in viewing your video, 'preachingnotpreaching' I watched Mr. Chad tying his tie. We have had step by step recipes, so may I ask if is possible please to have a step by step guide to the way this Godly man ties his tie for Church please? It looked so neat and the knot so well placed, I think my husband would appreciate it as much as I would. Thank you so much for your videos and sharing your familys adventures.
I think hands down, scratch Rice Krispies treats are best! I also feel there is a strange metal taste to the store bought. I like to melt my marshmallows in the microwave using a Tupperware bowl (no sticking). Then add my Rice Krispies and spread it all out on waxed paper and gently pull them out and avoid pressing them down, “seems” to be more. I cut them up with a plastic knife (no sticking). The kids don’t realize they aren’t as dense, they go further, and easier to eat for those that need something softer. Thanks for the compare, it’s a valuable lesson.
Love rice crispy treats.
You guys are hilarious. Love it.
TFS.
I’d rather have home made any day.
I personally prefer the homemade treats.
I can tell you before even watching this that HOME MADE wins hands down. The store bought has some sort of film on them that doesn't taste good. Probably a preservative.
Hi Jennifer, this are delicious. I used to make them for my children. I used 1/4 cup of peanut butter added to the butter so they melt together. Give it a try, you guys will love them. Blessings
Jennifer I just love u and ur channel. U are a gem in this world that's for sure. How blessed ur family is to have u. Love rice krispies I cant make them I'd I do I eat the whole pan they're that addicting. Love u momma 💕
I like rice Krispy treats every now and then. I don’t like them because they’re so sweet . I know you’re thinking what kinda kid doesn’t like sweet stuff but I don’t and I don’t like marshmallows at all. Thankfully the name brand rice Krispy treats treats don’t really taste like marshmallows.
Why are you scared to use much butter? If you get a good brand like land o lakes it won’t have any bad not good for you ingredients in it.
Love rice krispies. I love love you and your family and vlogs. Jennifer you are the best.
Will be making those for my grandkids thank you for making those xx
Jennifer.. next time add a little vanilla to rice crispy and l also butter dish before putting rice crispy... you will notice it has a nice taste... just a suggestion..
definately not a fan, seems to be a very much apart of american culture it isn' t very big here in Australia. There is a very much a culture with in our communty for monitoring the content of food, especially kids lunches so, if we see rice crispies it usually a kids birthday parties, or as ELMO says "sometimes food".
If 1 treat isn't enough to move the scale you weigh multiple. IE 5 homemade and 5 store bought then you can "see" the difference.
I can taste the preservatives in store bought. I make mine in the microwave and add a small jar of marshmallow fluff along with the marshmallows and I double batch as well. The kids in the churches youth group always wanted me to make them for anything they did.
In U.K. we don’t tend to use marshmallows we normally mix them with chocolate. Though I think your and ours together, yummm!! Mind you we don’t get huge bags of mallows so we would probably have to buy at least two or maybe three bags! Hugs x Ann x
Homemade is best! I looked at the ingredients in store bought, it's full of junky preservatives 🥴
This is how I used to make Rice Krispie Treats. It’s much quicker and easier to use the microwave. You’re less likely to burn them too.
I just made homemade rice Krispy treats with my own twist. Wish I could post a picture! If there's a way please let me know, thanks.
Jennifer, Love you and your videos, BUT there is so much more you could do with your videos....the world needs more than this
Looks so good! Another favorite video!!! 🙏🏼💕👍🏼
Adding peanut butter is soooo good!
Gosh, that combo sounds perfect!!
I don’t like rice crispy treats at all. I do love caramel crispy treats because they are crunchy not soft, and they have a better flavour. They’re made the same way but you just add a packet of chewy caramel candies to the butter and marshmallow and melt it all together. After they are put into the slab pan, drizzle over some melted chocolate for decoration. So much better.
Homemade all the way, I like to add more marshmallows and less rice crispies, I don't like them hard and dry. And, yes they are usually all gone within an hour...
Now iam craving special K bars. Special K bars are made the same way as Rice krispie treats. But with a thick layer of chocolate on top.
I like your videos like this and the sausage McMuffin ones where you compare the 2 items. Can you do more of these ?
try adding butterscotch chips, or candy corn at the last minute, or your favorite chips.
I always do mine In The microwave and I just dump in the whole bag of marshmallows. Then when I flatten out in the pan I put a plastic baggy on my hand to smash them down. I also make some with choc chips in them.
Where did you get the pan that you said you usually make the treats in? Do you happen to know the brand? I have been looking for a good quality baking pan like that
Oh my I agree with the homemade, my husband chimed in and said even better with peanut butter and melted chocolate/butterscotch chips on top.
Looks like he’s adjusted to his hearing aids. I bet now he’s so used to them he forgets he’s wearing them 😊
2 bags mini marshmallows 1 stick butter one box rice krispies and vanilla . I like mine gooy
I make them homemade but I add walnuts in mine . oh boy that makes them so good. if you put a ice cream stick in one end and then dip them just halfway in melted chocolate or melted white chocolate kids like it also, after dipping them sprinkles are pretty and good.
I prefer 5.5 cup of marshmallows! It’s more tender!!
if you guys end up liking them and you guys should try peanut butter ones I should've tried making the pb one thing I'm very good to me.
I add a half tsp of vanilla yum. I suppose you could switch up the extract or use cocoa kind for a chocolate variety.
Great job! My kids always love homemade over store bought.
Here in the UK we sometimes add vanilla toffee melted with the marshmallows..yum
Hint: parchment paper to press it into shape works well. Yes , always clean out the pot. Lolol. Much better to make them your self, tastes better too. I love you guys, from Canada
homemade is the best i use coloured marshmallows looked so yummy love your shirt very pretty another great video love chads hearing aids nice colour
I hate the ready made ones.....i think they have an “off” taste. I just won’t eat them.
Love the home made ones!!
I hadn't had a rice chrispie treat in years. i honestly don't think i have had home made ones since i was little and my sister and mother use to make them for me. (mainly my mother.!!!)
Homemade is soooo much better than store bought!! Softer and chewier.
Hello I think yours look good.i am going to try to make them.Taje care.
The homemade are definitely Better but the store-bought last longer than the homemade
I love your videos! So uplifting! You’re so cute!
Mom use to make these for us kids bit she called them Scotcharoos . They had melted chocolate spread over the top. I love the look of homemade it means someone has taken the time to provide love in the form of sweets.
Homemade are so much better. I can taste the chemicals in the boxed ones and they are chalky textured.
