The Ghost on the Station

- The encounter on the platform happened in 2003. This is a reconstruction of what happened on that night on Upton Station.
Similar to "Ghosts on the Tube"
One of the Ghost stations on Merseyside. Upton station is on the Borderlands land and has many ghostly experiences by locals. If you had one on any station let us know. The station is relatively standard with two tracks and 2 platforms but has undergone many changes since it was first opened in 1896. The station once had a booking office on the bridge that spans the two tracks, as well as waiting rooms, but the office and the rooms were demolished in the early 1970s, replaced with these new ones.
Autumn in 2006, a 22-year-old, he was waiting in the southbound shelter , catching the train to Shotton. There was a downpour, There was no one else around, but combined with the hammering rain on the roof , He thought he heard a sigh close to his left ear, and so he turned - to see no one. he looked forward across the tracks and caught sight of a dark outline of a figure standing on the opposite platform. he reasoned that the sigh she had heard had come from this person. Sound does seem to travel further at night, but only in the still of night; how could the sigh cut through the noisy downpour? He pondered the question, and he popped his head out of the shelter to check the departure board and to look along the tracks, hoping to see the lights of his train. The track was empty, and the skies were darkening with heavy rain-laden clouds. He was about to go to the next track on the mp3 player when he suddenly noticed that the figure who had been in the shelter on the opposite platform had gone. Then he noticed someone tall in dark clothes standing to his left in his peripheral vision field - outside the shelter. He turned and saw a man, well over six feet in height, dressed all in black. He ran out of the shelter through the blinding rain and didn’t stop running until he was home.
Years later he saw a sketch of a ghostly man in black, on facebook seen on nearby Windermere Road, which is just a stone’s throw from the railway station, he held the drawing with a tremble in his hand. The sketch was made by a student named Jon Moody, who almost collided with the eerie figure one spring morning in 2003 as he went on his morning run. At around 6 am, Jon ran around the corner of Windermere Road that morning, ready to turn into Noctorum Avenue, when he was startled by a man in black, who seemed to be staring intently at the corner house. Jon apologised for almost running into the oddly-dressed person , but when he noticed his blank face , he ran off a little quicker than he normally would on his morning jog. It was this memory that Jon made a sketch of and posted it on social media.
This is what he saw on the station platform years earlier.

I lived on the Ford which is near by this station, in the 80's and I can tell you that at least 2 others plus my self where pushed off a wall at different times by something. The wall was around a car park in 1st Ave, Arley close. 1 girl was left with scratches on her arm after she saw a reflection of it or him, in a puddle. At the time we where playing cheddar cheese around a triangular foot path which led down to the wall. Of course none of us believed her at the time and laughed it off but some days later I my self had been playing on my skate board in the same area and sat on the wall for a rest. I found my self being pushed hard backward resulting in myself flipping over the wall and landing face down and over the wall with a very sore and bumped head. Never thought about it again till I watched this. A few years later, most of the kids from 1st Ave playing footy in the square behind 83 Arley close, looked up to watch a very interesting light darting around in the sky. A few days later a couple of R.A.F planes flew over so low that the ground me and my brother where standing rumbled. Again, never thought about it till now.
Interesting story, i have heard a few other stories lately as well.
Upton is already scary enough without ghosts
I had another ghostly experience one night at lime st station.....this women came up to me she was 6 feet tall and blonde she kept on saying.....I NEED YOUR ALL..she then took me away a cannot remember how since that night I returned to that station every day
I've often been to that Co-op seen at the start, and when I go there look down upon the platforms. Alas, the only ghosts there are the trains. The trains from Upton don't go all the way into Birkenhead, so you have to change, and that drags out the journey times.
Birkenhead, Green Lane is meant to be nastily haunted too. Never knew about Upton.
I don't like that train station either, same as James Street that gives me the heeby jeebys as well
Seen a lady on platform at Conway Park Station few years ago.... had another spooky experience over the water at James St Station .
We do have a pretty big railway history...🤔 doesn't surprise me. The many sightings of ghosts & haunted train Stations.

@@TheWirralChannel well I was just stood waiting for the West Kirkby ... so am to the left side of the platform , after exiting the lift down. Am roughly by second set of seat's and sitting waiting.... I turned to look (my left hand side) There is Yellow box thing right down the platform. The fact that I could not see the whole box thing ' because of the ghostly lady figure NOW stood in front or actually on ? Or in ? Yellow box. My 1st look made me take a double look. She was still there and I says to my partner who is standing at my right ... (now I apologise for my politely c for f words) 'cook' off babe there's a lady down there and she's '' see through'' ...what the 'cook' she's wearing like a bonet type hat on.. wow wow she's dressed like a 1800's skirt.. I'm actually seeing her through the box or the box is through her..
and my partner is asking where? where? So am nodding my head in the direction of her .... stating I can STILL SEE HER....
My partner says "maybe she is just ment to be seen by you. "
So the Train heading from the tunnel breaks my attention and puff she's gone . We board train , the train leaves the platform I'm stood at the doors to see ' look ' closer as we pass the Yellow box . Yep definitely is a yellow SOLID OBJECT? AND NOPE not a person in sight and certainly nobody wearing a bonet or period clothing??? Train enters tunnel .I sat down a little kafuffled' 🤔🤔 made me wonder if she was waiting for the train of her lifetime ... suppose that is the Steam train ? Horse driven Carriage ? Jalopy bus ?
Me Having a history of great grandfathers working on the Trains and also the old overhead railway. Plenty of disused train stations' tracks 'tunnels over n around The Wirral .. thanks for your reply

Hello! i worked 10 years as a frontline medic (iraq and afghanistan) . As a medial proffessional, i lived and was daily exposed to the dead and i NEVER encountered any supernatural activity there.
For some reason here in the west , in more calmer environments,- we seem to generate untold stories with little evidence. I have seen all the ghost movies (i love them) but they Are really far from the truth. Part of me hoped we lived to fulfill a higher purpose, but now i see we dont . It isnt to say that life is meaningless anyway..

I had a ghostly experience a little while ago...........I saw a strange letter come through my letter box G....A......S written on it then without warning £700 disappeared from my wallet. Things got even worse the letter was marked in strange letters...plus V...A...T for greed
