Fun fact: the line where Linguini said “Non pas du tout, pas du tout” became a famous meme in France.
@Ooohbopbopboppadoohwah That means "not at all, not at all"
That’s reasonable, I’m learning French actually and it definitely does sound like it has meme potential XD
In French Canadian, he says ''Non mais non mais non'' (No but no but no'')
2:50 the right language to this movie especially since the movies taking place in France
It sounds so good when you only listen to sound
''despite'' ?
Generation X really? Despite don't you mean despite it being English in the first place
Shouldn’t Linguini be speaking in Italian?
_Oui oui!_ French is a very beautiful language indeed.
to be honest russian Linguini's voice suits him pretty well...

European Spanish is Spanish Latin
And Latin Spanish is the European that is exchanged.
yep
When I was little and I saw this scene I originally thought Linguini was just fooling around. I had no idea he was drunk.
To give credit, he was the only pixar character who got drunk.
These are the little things that you appreciate when you see them again as an adult
They changed the wine to juice in the Arabic version lmao
We know it's wine and it can be clearly seen but they call it juice even when translating anime like Detective Conan. This is not done to hide it from children or smth cause they know everyone does know. But the word WINE itself in Arabic sounds like a taboo and carries a lot of religious meanings. So it's better to use "juice, juice of raisin or beverage" instead.
@@yaenxt1852 Taboo word = don't let the children hear it
@@farah9902 not just children, the word Khamr itself is weird, it seems like saying Heroine or Incest in English!
Thats why in case you need to be more precise, you should use Mashroobat Koholia (Alcoholic Beverages) not Khamr (wine). I am talking about formal languahe but of course people can say whatever they want in informal situations. 😀
@@yaenxt1852 should have said mashrob tbh lol. Juice brings a lot whole meaning

The documental one is Georgian, they did a voiceover dubbing over the original audio.
Same goes with the Vietnamese one as well.
Some countries prefer to do a voiceover dubbing instead of a real dub.

No, not at all, no.
You know a lot about rats! I know it is!
- You know I know that you tu-po-tu, rat al lot.. EHI, why do they call it like that?
What?
Ratatoile: they're Stewed vegetables, why they call like that? If you name a dish, it must be a tempting name. Ratatouille has no tempting sound, it almost seems a mixture of "rat" and "concoctions". A rat between concoctions.
-I'm sorry but... We finished wine

Uzbek language very beautiful
Wow, in Russian they changed it.... In the English version they talked about Ratatouille while in Russian the Chef asked "What do you even know about rats ?!?" He starts saying that they have a black nose that they have a furry body and a bald tail.....and then says that he doesn't understand why a rat is like that cause it's not beautiful like that....
Agree, i am Russian and seen this wrong translate.
Это - адаптация для детей. Лингвистическую шутку без знания английского они бы не поняли
@@KalvinPP104 ты же понимаешь что в английском здесь присутствует игра слов, и на русский перевести шутку невозможно.
Uzbek language beautiful
It's a fine change. The point of this whole thing is that Linguini became too drunk to interrogate and started to babble about whatever.
Them changing the original meaning so as to preserve the original idea of wordplay and nonsense is fine.
He used the whole wine bottle to just get him to confess and it achieved nothing
11:59 This is Castilian Spanish, not Latin Spanish.

Anis Ali Al-Maghrabi okey but can you tell me how the part where linguini says it sounda like rat and patootie was translated in arabic
There was a mistake, the slovak version is the czech version. One really smart thing about the czech version is that Linguine starts singing a rhyme about a mouse cooking a porridge. It’s actually a children’s rhyme I used to sing as a kid. I used to think that the czech dub was very clever that they used an already known rhyme about a mouse cooking something for that scene

Watching this drunk makes it even funnier
Russian translation in this scene is incorrect: in the original Linguini asks why this food was called "Ratatouille", but in the Russian version he asks why rat has a bald tail. The translation doesn't correspond to the original at all, I don't understand why our translators translated it this way. But the cartoon is great, I watched it yesterday.

Have you ever worked in a lab?
No.
Didn't you like Ratman with Daniel Landa? (Czech rock singer)
I don't like Dan Landa that much.
But I know you have something to do with rats. I know it
The rat boiled the porridge in a green saucepan. (Modified version of the Czech nursery rhyme, mouse is replaced with rat) Hey, have you ever seen it?
What?
The rat cooks, it's a little weird you know? Why porridge? I've never seen a rat cook a porridge in my life, and not on a green saucepan at all, why porridge? And in the saucepan and why in green, The rat certainly doesn't cook in it.
I'm afraid. that it was all the wine I have.

Just think about this for a second: A dude in a disney kid's movie got drunk.
9:05 Why do they always change sound? Is it really so necessary?
I guess they just don't buy a dubbing license in Iran, so they remove all the original voices and do the "homemade" dubbing. Due to the fact that the vocal remover programs do not always work well, you have to replace some sounds because they were cut by the program. These are my guesses.

I wouldn’t either if I was drinking that. But you would have to be an idiot if elephantine proportions not to appreciate this ‘61 Château Latour. And you, Monsieur Linguini, are no idiot. Let us toast your non-idiocy. More wine? Linguini: I shouldn’t, but… Okay. Skinner: So, where did you train, Linguini? Linguini: Train? All right. Skinner: Surely you don’t expect me to believe this is your first time cooking? Linguini: It’s not. Skinner: I knew it! Linguini: It’s my… Second, third, fourth… Fifth time. Monday was my first time. But I’ve taken out the garbage lots of times before that… Skinner: Yes, yes. Have some more wine. Tell me, Linguini, about your interests. Do you like animals? Linguini: What? Animals? What kind? Skinner: Oh, the usual, dogs, cats, horses, guinea pigs, rats. Have you ever had a pet rat? Linguini: No. Skinner: Did you work in a lab with rats? Linguini: No. Skinner: Perhaps you lived in squalor at some point? Linguini: Nopety nopety no. Skinner: You know something about rats! You know you do! Linguini: You know who know do whacks-doo. Ratta-tatta. Hey! Why do they call it that? Skinner: What?! Linguini: Ratatouille. It’s like a stew, right? Why do they call it that? If you’re gonna name a food, you should give it a name that sounds delicious. Ratatouille doesn’t sound delicious. It sounds like “rat” and “patootie.” Rat patootie. Which does not sound delicious. Skinner: Regrettably, we are all out of wine.
