Do you have to point the remote straight at the camera for it to take picture or can you have it behind your back in front of the camera for it to take pic , asking for self photo shoots 👍🏼
Hi Fernando, You can use Remote Controller RC-6 or RC-1 or RC-5 to start and stop the movie shooting. With RC-6 or RC-1, set the timing switch to 2 (2-sec. delay), then press the transmit button. If the switch is set to 0 (immediate shooting), still photo shooting will take effect.
Hi Rooneymechis, It is only to delay the shot 2 seconds, if what you want is to focus automatically before shooting, move the focus switch to AF before using the remote control.

EXCELLENT! No words needed (for people who aren't blind). "Liked"
Does this work with long exposures, as in longer than 30 seconds?
Pure Gold. Title said it all for me.
Can i connect this model to phone app canon remote connect?
your title makes it seem like you will explain continuous shooting in self timer mode... was waiting for it but unfortunately.
Hi Nanda Delchot,
Sorry for this confusion, i will modifies the title.
Thanks for your comment!
Will the controller work if I'm standing behind the camera?
Hi Francisco,
It will not work, it is necessary that the control is in front of the camera.

Hi, can you also use the RC-6 to record videos on the 7D??

Photography And More yes! I try it a few hours ago, thank you so much, works great 😄😄
thanks for tips. I can control my 100d via my Xiaomi mi6 remote app
Thank you for the tip and for your comments!
Not available on canon 1300d, neither is wi-fi connection to pc or laptop for 1300d so watch out if you are considering buying one.
The reason I'm on this video is because my Canon EOS 2000D does not have the option for "/remote control", only "self timer".................
Same case here, but Canon 4000D 🥲
I heard that the number 2 second in the back of the remote is for focus and click , pls clear

It's a shame it doesn't wake the Canon cameras up from power save.
Hi,
I agree with you!
@@photographyandmore A wired remote/ intervalometer does. I wonder if the blutooth remote does.
...christ I'm tired of wasting time on video guides - who don't anyone make text guides anymore?
