Hello, I just started shooting with this camera haven’t even finished my first roll. Can I ask all you X700 shooters a question? In your experience, what mode M, A or P would give the best exposures if I were to follow the cameras meter and no EV comp or any other tricks, just depending on the internal meter?

My half press is…broken? Worn out? Way too sensitive. I’m fine with back button auto focus, but unfortunately I can’t get figure out how to make the light meter pop up in the view finder with out half press. Any advice for me?

Thank you for this! Do you know what the lever underneath the view finder is for? Once I reassembled my shutter release button is now locked and I notice it locks when I put on the front plate back on which depresses that lever and doesn't allow me to shoot. Any idea would be appreciated! thanks!

The ones for spy’s didn’t have a serial number at all to remove attribution. This is not that model. Not that many were made anyways. They have a batch number in the film compartment but that’s it. No one used one of these as a spy with a serial number. You got taken.

Just got this camera as a hand me down, starting my photography journey sofar the first roll came out pretty great very happy with it, however ever since it’s been giving me an ERR and then stops working for a bit, essentially the lens goes black and it won’t shoot Any help or insight would be appreciated.

I came here to see if the winder and lever screws weren't reverse threaded - even with a drop of lubricant and good JIS drivers mine are glued in place.

I own a Minolta X-700, and it’s one of my favorite film cameras. It’s easy to use, reliable, and always gives great results.

I was at a Value Village in Canada and I bought this exact camera , I found out that the flash didn't work , but the internal gears are made out of metal .. the camera I bought came with a Minolta leather slide in case with a snap on the end bought the camera for like 6 dollars

Great video! My srt 101 does not have the grey colored tabs that you load the film onto. Instead it is a black cylinder with a dial and slight groove. Am I missing a piece, or can I just tuck the film starter in between the two cylinders

I have a Samsung V. Camera just like that, unfortunate the tape compartment refused to come out so I can insert the tape, I am not sure how to fix it, I tried to find another camera camera that has DV tape on Amazon they are very expensive for being used, mine is still in good condition with the leather strap bag I purchased for it since 2004, if I could get it fix I can sell it or continue using it
