- This week, an unexpected watch showed up at my door. So clear my schedule, because I gotta show you this thing!

..."this is not a watch that smiles at children passing by" got me 😆
I chuckled 😂
I agree. A manual wind watch with a screw down crown would be very irritating. Especially if it doesn't have a very extended power reserve.
The nodus is cool, but your title.. I guess it got me to click! :D
welcome to youtube 🧳
We all want a 800$ Tudor….
Power of the dislike button

I'd thought this'd be beneath this channel. 👎
Both fine watches! And I actually like the wagon on the back - definitely better than a plain backside, and it transports the vibe of ruggedness for me.
Its a Conestoga wagon. Schools use to teach how important it was to US history.
Serica 4512 is like that manual with a locked crown. It’s fine. Not annoying.
Thank you for the insight of these exciting two new micro brands! I just pre-ordered my VPC watch with the dark green dial and I think this model suits my tastes best. It has so much detail as such as the small polished edges aside the brushed case. I love that lugs style with those edges and I think it’s mesmerising how beautifully it’s designed. 😍
My manual wound Tudor Big Rose has a screw down crown. Not ideal but also not a deal breaker at all.
wow, both are real stunners.
On the Nodus watch you have a shot with a mustard colored nylon strap on it. Looks great! Can I ask where that strap is from?
This is another serious contender for best Travelers GMT for under $1K next to the Traska Venturer GMT
Very impressed 👏🏽
I think the VPC is brilliant and I don’t mind the screw down crown with a manual wind. It’s just that much more engaging
I totally agree.
At first sight I thought I was in a Titanium dream. Still like it though.
The Hodinkee Oris 65 was also a manual wind with a screw down crown. That's the reason I parted with it. I saw another model last week that also was, but the model eludes me.
One notable feature: Apparently, the bezel is also Cerakote-finished.
The dial of the Nodus reminds of Tudor. The case is reminiscent of Omega, complete with lyre-style lugs.
Love the thought of manuel wind with screw down crown, plenty go grip and turn,no,that great i think and love dial would be nice to see what a centre seconds would be like because that white circle at six is heavily part of design .and wider hour markers ?again dare say they tried and bet it didn't look right ? Best of luck fellahs, lovely watch .
Well I just got a Tudor BB Pro alternative for $350 with the Spinnaker Croft GMT 😁
Same. Limited edition wet suit black mid size.
@@sage9743 that same one 🫡
The Nodus is really cool, and a great price. I am not a big fan of small seconds watches.
Really different these 2
I really loved the small seconds, I think the new citizen small seconds has got my attention and now I’m looking at other brands versions, I’m having a lot of fun just looking and learning 👍
The VPC is amazing looking and it’s right up my ally but a screw down crown with manual wind is kinda absurd. I would still buy it but that’s one of those things I would ask what were they thinking!
Love the case finish on the Nodus, and the bezel, and the dial color. I’d take that over a Tudor any day.
That Nodus is awesome. Never seen a watch like it.
Just bought this one today. Can’t wait to get it.
The Nodus/Raven is pretty cool. I like the color tones. I personally notice the case itself is reminiscent of a Grand Seiko diver case.. I say that as I compare it to a GS I own... Just a bit smaller which is nice. I can't make the stretch for one right now. But, as I understand it, it's not a limited edition and should make more later when this first run sells out. May try then.
The VPC I saw on Peter Kotsa's channel, also. It's a handsome watch with some nice design elements. I like the grey version the most. I think the pricing is a bit ambitious and a tad high, however. And, having owned a vintage Rolex Oyster Precision that was manual wound with a locking crown, it was a concerning feature as to adding unnecessary wear on the crown tube threading and possible reduction in WR over time. It might have been better to just have a push pull crown as the WR isn't THAT high anyways and most can get away with similar WR with a push pull crown.
Again, the pricing.. sure, I had a Vertex M100A that cost nearly as much, but, it is an automatic and definitely built very well and the screwdown crown made sense there. But, Vertex has more brand history and generally speaking British watchmaking tends to be relatively in the pricier end for what they are, imho.
Yeah, tough sell for almost 3k but if you followed along with the story, then it has it's own history 😉
@@WatchCrunchOfficial I really like watches with small seconds. I just think the price was unexpectedly higher than expected.. and, again, the crown action choice is questionable. Anyways, I enjoy your videos and watch presentations. Keep up the great work.
I feel like with the blue ar coating, a blue seconds hand or other contrasting color would look sick
Have you heard about it? A new watch brand with original carbon fiber style, Aquatrident brand watch, made of new carbon fiber material
People complaining about the click bait title... If you think Tudor are releasing an $800 watch, maybe this hobby isnt for you 😂
Better dimensions and design than a tudor
Love both of these piece
The nodus looks like a perfect travel watch and a cool finish too
Wow the dial on the second piece - it’s one sexy piece, 2500 euro though, I think I’ll stick to my nomos club sport37 petrol
That VPC is 🔥🔥🔥🔥😊
How do you have it already? I want to order it today. It's suuuuuper cool, plus I'm a fan of the brand
I have connections 😉
Of course you have 😅
This NODUS looks cool and rugged 😎
Unpopular opinion: Date windows should be at 3 like Rolex intended. Easier to see from under a cuff, plus the obsession with symmetry is insane to me.
I agree and as an older person with eyes that finding hard to focus, I need that magnification too.
VPC looks fantastic! Does it has a touch of sapphire milky ring or is that just an illusion in some photos from head on?
Amazing video. Love this Nodus 😅
Bloody love this thing.
Screw down on a manual is a no go for me. The crown tube would want to be very high quality to not mar over time and become useless.
Manual wind with screw down... the new Mad Hacker is also like that! Meaning its not a every day use... but how many of us here wear the same watch for more than 2 days? Good reviews... love the Nodus.
I have a Laco Pro manual, with a screw down crown. Works fine, but I would prefer it without a screw down crown.
Agreed!
you should see the tisell gmt, now thats a value for money watch. for under 300 bucks you get a travelers gmt with very good finish and a regulated movement
The DLC coating on the Nodus bezel has noticeable imperfections.
It isn't DLC. It is Cerakote. That is the nature of cerakote.
Might as well get a titanium watch that has a better looking grey and has advantages to stainless steel.
you do it
@@thewhutnow5795 I did!
How do you determine a better or worse gray? Isn't it all shades of gray?
@@thewhutnow5795 I did!
Ok, you got me with your click bait. Come on, you’re better than that
Raven watches are fantastic! Personally I don’t care about the caseback. Does anyone ever sit there and stare at it?
Nodus is making some killer watches. Not a fan of yellow, but that's just me. That VPC is also very classy!
I'm ready for a $250 Tudor. And it exists.
Spinnaker Croft GMT is $350 ;)
This isn’t a dig but one watch is basically called a vac heron constantin and the other is definitely a bb pro knockoff. I do like both and would go with the pro . The vacheron would wind me up with the screw down crown. Never mind me winding that up.
I love the look of this watch but the macro shot of the dial is a let down. I hate the texture on it.
Glad to see a good looking American brand watch.
both very beautiful watches that stand on their own. Screw down crown with a manual wind? on a dress watch? $2,500? don’t think it was the best combination, perhaps on a Field or Diver. Nevertheless, it is drop dead gorgeous.
That VPC looks great but is. It is not formal, is just well dressed as in European flair. Remember we in Europe don’t use cargo pants and flip flops when we go out
Can someone tell me about the light in the background that he has on a stand?
Yeah, I’d say that’s probably a stock, artificial background
Looks like a standard video light with barn doors
I manual wind my 2 screw down watches every morning, I don't think is that big of an inconvenience.
Same here 🤷
Woah, so many watches I didn't know
How noisy is the movement?
Nice watch,i will prefer a real 800$ tudor watch of course ...
Nodus is a great design
Ditch the pioneer wagon on the case back for the next batch.
wow a real travelers gmt i gonna order one right the way
Great vídeo… Great Watches
Did you call the 3 and 9 markers trapezoids? Sure about that?
I bought a Tudor for $800. It’s a brand new Glamour 36. I thought you pulled off a good deal like this as well.
I liked the Explorer II because it looked different from other Rolexes (sub, gmt, yachtmaster) . Now we have Seiko, Tudor and Nodus that look like Explorer II. But 800 is a great price to be fair.
it looks like an explorer II infsofar as it's a steel/DLC non-rotating bezel with a contrasted GMT hand. similarly proportioned as well.
but there are so many great design choices that look good, are functional, and distinguish it from the archetypes of this category. Gray DLC, different indices, handset, hash marks, 6pm contrasted date wheel, case shape and lyre lugs, flat 3link bracelet, etc.
considering the massive price gulf i don't see the issue with people having a budget option that isn't a blatant rip off. (relatively as 800 is still a lot of money).
The color is called feldgrau. It has a history.
Lol no Tudor looks this cool!
is the Bezel fixed?
It is.
Personally I absolutely loved the case-back. Reminded me of the fabulous series 1883, a prequel to Yellowstone.
Fantastic and rugged.
I would’ve preferred the disemboweled horse…
Haha, you dog 😉
Correction, Thats an $800 NODUS !
The Traska Venture gives this a run for its money.
Also great
Not getting another Nodus untill they go swiss and have exhibition caseback
It's sure not a 🐦 or a plane and the one with GMT is super star
How different is this from cheaper hommages to be honest?🤷🏼♂️ the video worked as the batch sold out.
its not a 1:1 copy like a lot of the ali express specials.
Watches don’t sell out because of a video. They sell out because it’s a good watch.
Now that Nodus/Raven… should be military issue.
Take a look at Marathon (if you haven’t already). A tried and tested, stealthy MILSPEC offering.
So… Tudor? Where👀?
Oregon trial case back
It’s beautiful.. but why miota
Because of the price point
I don't get this criticism. Comes up a lot, but having used and owned many of the base level movements (ETA 2824, SW200, etc) the Miyota 9000 series has come away as my preferred movement. To me it's always felt so much more robust than it's competitors, which felt fragile when interacting with them. I feel like people just get caught up on the name and conflate all Miyota movements with the 8200 series.
@@tobyjones5981I agree. I am a big fan of the Miyota 9 series of movements. My experience is that they are rock-solid timekeepers, and because they are so thin, most of the watches I’ve had with them are thin but still with good water resistance. Also, many people seem to focus on the dreaded “rotor wobble” from the unidirectional rotor, but it’s always been subtle to nonexistent to me.
Meh...not horrible, but I'd just spende a bit more and get a Christoper Ward Sealander GMT instead of that Nodus.
I like.
So good!
The dial looks like a mess
Nodus lost me at "assembled in California, manufactured in Asia"
why is that a deal breaker? it's incredibly hard to have a USA made watch because the criteria is much stricter than swiss made. a significant amount of 'swiss made' are built with parts manufactured in asia
Wait until you find out what Swiss Made means.
Manual wind with a screw down crown to me is completely idiotic - the Mad Watch Collector gor really pissy when I shared my opinion about his 'field watch' using such set-up.
Seiko and others do 100m WR with unscrewed crowns, Nomos does 200m so - no need for this nonsense.
Looks too much like an Explorer II for me
OK, so now Tudor is associated with this type of design they copied off of Explorer II? I will give you that, for $800, they may have matched Tudor's (lack of) quality... 🤭
Beautiful watch. But the lug-to-lug is too long.
Hola
Buenas!
This watch does not stand out for me. The price is the only thing working for it. I would rather go get a Seiko or Longines.
Seiko Alpinist (725usd) or longines conquest (875usd)
Take the (click) bait!
That Nodus is very pretty!
I have to say that NKUWAN 's watches is amazing!
Clickbait title. This is NOT a tudor!!
Na man, that looks like a
It is less than $1000.
@@noduswatches5980 Yes, that's fine, but not comparable to a Tudor IMO.
I think it's the color that's throwing me off, but this looks like a cheap plastic watch. The bezel and the dial look especially cheap and plasticky to me
you have died of dysentery.
First nodus is a grand seiko and Tudor smashed together. The case shape is a copy of the sbgn003. It’s not that original in my opinion.
i see the similarities with the sbgn003, but prefer the nodus proportions. GS refuses to make even lug width watches for some reason
When the SBGN003 first came out, everyone said it was an Omega and Rolex smashed together.
nice watch but terrible color 😑
But it’s not a Tudor…unsubed.
Bye Felicia✌️
Oh stop it Poochiebags!
Welcome to UA-cam. If it’s your first day here, video titles are often used to “bait” viewers into pressing play. Often, it turns out, titles are inaccurate. It can be confusing, but after some time on the platform, it becomes less jarring. We do hope that you’ll stick around. If not, WC will have to rely on the other 108k subscribers - which may make this less sustainable over time.
lol! Thank you for the education. It really is a great channel and brings something special to the collecting community. Ok I’m re-subbing.
Those two little fingers shaped like V can only belong to dearest Poochiebags. Ok you’ve convinced me, I’m resubing.
I'm so early! First!
Let's go 😀
Deceiving title.
Max, you lost me at Miyota
Up until now your videos were mostly Fair.
This one is clear clickbait.
In addition it looks like it is paid promotion were you advertising Michael Brown's comparing them to established Swiss manufacturers. Both should cost fraction of their requested price then they would have a chance.
Big NO.
Shameful use of influence to justify these products
