- I have not been to the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore, Maryland for a very long time and some things have changed. It was a Thomas themed day when I was there on Saturday, April 25, 2015.
Superb footage of your visit mate! Looks an amazing place! They certainly have lots to see! Nice to see you get to have a look around in the caboose car. That stream-liner sure looked an interesting beast. That Mallet looks amazing! Bet that was a beast to drive. Excellent work and thanks for sharing!
SDJR7F88 I knew you would like this tour video!
That Allegheny engine looks amazing
Thank you for your presentation. I will be going in Sept. 2015. Looking forward to it. The last time I was there was before the roof collapse.
And to think so much of it was "modern" when it was made :)
I had no idea the museum recovered so well from the hurricane disaster. GOTTA get up there.
Nice to see what is in the car shop. We were there a couple of weeks ago and it was too dark to take pictures or really know what was in there.
thanx for sharing Danny ! this is a very cool RR Museum
Rarawer Thank you
I remember being there in 2008, and I got a ride from Thomas. Good times.
09trainman Its a great museum! thank you
Trains Big and Small np
9:12 :( That makes me upset seeing the locomotive in such a bad state.
Hey, at least it hasn’t been completely scrapped. When I was there, they didn’t have the freedom train on display and I went every weekend when I was young.
Hoping that someday they’ll restore 2101 and 1604. Who knows.
I hope they can restore 2101 too and C&O 377
Great railroad museum tour, my favorite locomotives that I would love to view in person are B&O "President Washington" no. 5300, C&O locomotives 490 and Allegheny 1604. These steam engines are the focus pieces that I will attempt to see during my next visit to this rr museum location.
Love that old railcar at 0.26 ..just see me sat up there on the top , sure got a great collection of Lococ,s and coaches from days gone by Danny
***** It would make a good chair Dave. Its an old crane car for lifting track materials.
great place. love the yellow streamlined steam loco no 490. the only thing is i don't like seeing locos in museums sitting there quiet. they should be out doing what they were built to do. that's why i love going to steam railways coz see the locos in steam
matt slade C&O 614 was taken out of that museum and restored year ago by Ross Roland.
Is C&O 1604 going to run again
No
I think that is a Day Out With Thomas event.
+DisneyStoreFan1 Yes, it was the Thomas day!
Great footage!!!
Captain Justice Thank you man!
No prob!
@TrainsBigandSmall My dad took me here almost every weekend, but as I got older I didn’t have time to go. A lot of stuff has changed. I can’t believe they got the Hudson No. 490 light on. I have always dreamed of seeing that train run again
They had ramps to see the inside of the trains at one time. 5:28
wonder if they will try to restore C&O 490 yellowbelly streamliner at 4:20
Great museum, visited 3 times.
Is the public allowed to climb in any of the engines?
Would love to see a restored RS1!.
6:07 is that greenbrier locomotive c&o 614 with a different number board
No, that's C&O 2705, a 2-8-4 "Kanawha" engine. The 614 Greenbrier is on display down in Clifton Forge, Virginia.
would B&O 5300 and 5304 be steamed.
whatever the conscenious is, the brass hats at the time had the foresight. to start putting back peices of equipment for preservation,we the adoring public need to pay homage to these people and their efforts, and to create more trainporn;D
still waiting to for the day the American Freedom Train N0:1 gets returned to steam operation
Michael Bobb could it? it was involved in a fire in the late 70's and apparently was in bad shape. Just asking.
the fact they are still mistreating 2101 is a great disrespect to that locomotive
unfortunately a number of the older engines are either bad replicas built in the 1890's or were originally other engines modified to represent another engine
I thought there was only one c&o allaghany
stuffed and mounted locomotives
Raymond Leggs Absolutely
Sad the B&O scrapped all of their T3 4-8-2s.
I’ve Ben there
Nice facilities and railroad exhibits, but good lord, what a god awfully Zoo …
Where is thomas
Not much social distancing there. Smart.
This was 2015, smart
