    I Love the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore Maryland i did started going there for my 1st time with my dad and i saw all steam/Diesel Locomotives and Freight/passenger cars and cabooses there!! It was a good expierence because i saw CSX number 1507 a EMD GP-15 Diesel Locomotive! I also saw Baltimore & Ohio EMD GP30 Diesel Locomotive number 6944 and others too!

    The B&O museum seems to be one of the to do railroad museums in the US, large collection of earlier engines there.
    It clearly shows the development from the small locomotives of the first years up to the behemoths of steam and the diesel/electric era.

    TOTALLY AWESOME video Pappy! Had to have been extremely hard to cut it down to
    that amount of time, I could have watched four 15 minute videos of this place. You
    did a superb job on this one my friend. B&O is my favorite, liked it better than Steamtown.
    Hard to say which is my favorite there, but William Mason is just amazingly painted.

    • @TriGogglin
      @TriGogglin  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks Dave, I have not been to steam town so the only thing I have to come close to is our visit to age of steam, and thats a hard pick both has there perks. And yes its very hard to keep videos in a watchable time. I wanted to do 360 walk arounds and read off some of the info, but most wouldn't want that lol and as far as paint, they were all sharp looking, still love that tunnel sizer car, and still drooling over the Hudson, thanks again my friend for watching and enjoying my videos and the great comments and support you give.

      @@TriGogglin If I am not mistaken the Hudson was a rebuilt steam locomotive that was a conventional non streamlined steam locomotive. The last brand new steam locomotive was the Norfolk and Western J class 613 the last of 3 streamlined steam locomotive built by the same railroad in 1950.

    Number 51 did passenger service from Jersey City to Washington D.C. from 1937 til circa 1958 also stopping at Philadelphia. The Jersey City Terminal still exists in Jersey City in the state park at the waterfront facing Brooklyn but without railroad tracks. People took a bus that went to the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad ferry terminal to Battery Park in Manhattan and traveled by Broadway up to Columbus Circle on 59th Street on the west side of Central Park. In 1962 my late father and I went to my first New York Car Show and the bus terminal was still there 1 block from the New York Coliseum where the auto show was held and was used for other exhibitions. It and the bus terminal no longer exists as well as many other places in NYC my old hometown. Thankfully there are places that the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad served still exists.

    The 490 is a Pacific. Not a Hudson! The EA #51 is not the first streamline locomotive. The CB&Q had the Zephyr in 1934.

    • @TriGogglin
      @TriGogglin  3 роки тому +2

      Thank you for your comment Mike, but I got the facts straight from the museum, the 490 is a L-1 class 4-6-4 "Hudson" type. It was originally built in 1926 as an F-19 class 4-6-2 "pacific" type, and rebuilt in 1947 as a "Hudson" and if you listen in the video I never said the "51" was the first streamline loco, I said it was the first streamlined Diesel - Electric locomotive.
