I Love the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore Maryland i did started going there for my 1st time with my dad and i saw all steam/Diesel Locomotives and Freight/passenger cars and cabooses there!! It was a good expierence because i saw CSX number 1507 a EMD GP-15 Diesel Locomotive! I also saw Baltimore & Ohio EMD GP30 Diesel Locomotive number 6944 and others too!
Yeah that place is amazing, so glad you got to visit it as well. And you seen some good things you liked. Wish I was closer to it, visit there more often. Appreciate you watching
Great tour of the museum. My favorite place when I'm in Maryland visiting my children. Always something to see in that area. Don't miss the trolley museum & Ellicott City.
Thank you Creepy (Gary) lol, yes that place was rife with the old iron, wanted to read all the plaques and postings but I would have needed 2 days there lol, appreciate you watching and very glad you enjoyed it.
Oh no, that would have been great to meet you, sorry Joe, I didn't know or I would have definitely let you know I was there. If I ever get that way again, I will definitely look you up.
Thank Goodness someone in the Past thought about the Future of those Beautiful Engines and they never got scrapped. Looks like a great place to visit with everything they have going on. Very Happy you got to go. Matt and Jebb
Thanks Eric, I loved that tunnel car, I end up at the cool places, I don't set out to go there, I think thats why I love my drive, seek and finds the best, it takes me places I never think about. Or some says hey your close to this go see it, as always thanks for watching glad you enjoyed it.
Nice tour of the museum , hard to say what my favorite part was . I think they change the engines in the round house . I've seen photos of #51 in there. The layout is pretty awesome. Thanks for taking us along Papp.👍👍
Thanks Jerry, mine was the Hudson. You see it in the old ad verts, and post cards, so it was cool seeing it in the flesh. The layout was cool. Thanks for watching.
So glad you enjoyed it, sure hope you make it there, beautiful museum for sure. Nothing better than checking off the bucket list.. appreciate you watching
Hey there Matt, yes the display they had, I've only seen in books or in model form, so they were cool to see in person. Very glad you enjoyed it as well.
Hate you HATE you.. You didn't take me with you. You know that the pay back will be hard.. I'll be waiting at my port for that Hudson you smuggled out to arrive. This is a place I must visit next year, on one of my trips over. Seriously, thank you so much for sharing, I really do appreciate you showing the place, with us.
Lol Arty, the phone was busy when I called so I went with out ya, 😆, and sorry I couldn't find a box big enough to put the Hudson in, so don't wait to long at the port,. 🤔 when when come over, there's alot of cool places you need to go, start making that list. Glad you liked the vid mate.
@@TriGogglin Well mate you know I'm a very busy person at the moment, you didn't try hard enough. Well it looks like I'm going to have to do it myself, I just can't depend on you to do the right thing., for you fellow Aussie 😅🤣. I've made the list long time ago, but since I've made my channel, and got tied up with this gang I had to start a new book to add the places to the list, and that's just for the US. I do want to do a documentary more than anything on one of the lines that was never finished, that started in SC.
@@TriGogglin That book has 2 volumes, I need to send it over on the ship before I leave home. Hey looking at how you like rail history, maybe one summer you can come along with me. The line goes a fair way.
The B&O museum seems to be one of the to do railroad museums in the US, large collection of earlier engines there. It clearly shows the development from the small locomotives of the first years up to the behemoths of steam and the diesel/electric era.
TOTALLY AWESOME video Pappy! Had to have been extremely hard to cut it down to that amount of time, I could have watched four 15 minute videos of this place. You did a superb job on this one my friend. B&O is my favorite, liked it better than Steamtown. Hard to say which is my favorite there, but William Mason is just amazingly painted.
Thanks Dave, I have not been to steam town so the only thing I have to come close to is our visit to age of steam, and thats a hard pick both has there perks. And yes its very hard to keep videos in a watchable time. I wanted to do 360 walk arounds and read off some of the info, but most wouldn't want that lol and as far as paint, they were all sharp looking, still love that tunnel sizer car, and still drooling over the Hudson, thanks again my friend for watching and enjoying my videos and the great comments and support you give.
@@TriGogglin If I am not mistaken the Hudson was a rebuilt steam locomotive that was a conventional non streamlined steam locomotive. The last brand new steam locomotive was the Norfolk and Western J class 613 the last of 3 streamlined steam locomotive built by the same railroad in 1950.
Very impressive tour of the B&O rr museum, I live in the Baltimore area close by the museum about 30 minutes away. I am really interested in personally observing C&O locomotives "Hudson" no. 490, "Allegheny" type no. 1604 , and B&O "President Washington" no. 5300 the next time that I make a visit to the railroad museum.
For you information the GG1 at the B& O museum it th one that crashed thru at Union Station and ended up in the basement just before Eisenhower's inauguration the Chessapeake division RRE was able to get it and donate it to B&O museum in then1990's
Thank you Steve, that is awesome information. I definitely didn't know that.. thats a gem to have then.. I thought it was an old miss treated left over. That should be housed and on display with photos of the crash.. Really appreciate you leaving this comment. Thank you..
@@graphtonix6607 whoa, thats pretty far, I'm all the way in Ohio, I was in California about 4 years ago. Sure wish I knew it was there, if I get back out there I will definitely look it up.
Number 51 did passenger service from Jersey City to Washington D.C. from 1937 til circa 1958 also stopping at Philadelphia. The Jersey City Terminal still exists in Jersey City in the state park at the waterfront facing Brooklyn but without railroad tracks. People took a bus that went to the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad ferry terminal to Battery Park in Manhattan and traveled by Broadway up to Columbus Circle on 59th Street on the west side of Central Park. In 1962 my late father and I went to my first New York Car Show and the bus terminal was still there 1 block from the New York Coliseum where the auto show was held and was used for other exhibitions. It and the bus terminal no longer exists as well as many other places in NYC my old hometown. Thankfully there are places that the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad served still exists.

It was originally built in 1926 as an F-19 class 4-6-2 "pacific" type, and rebuilt in 1947 as a "Hudson" and if you listen in the video I never said the "51" was the first streamline loco, I said it was the first streamlined Diesel - Electric locomotive.
This museum failed for taking good care of its inventory. The chessie steam special is now ruined and they won’t restore her to operate status.. cosmetic restoration don’t cut it… fff you museum
