Same dude, looked two weeks ago for a red looking setup and couldn’t find any. Such a good setup, but will be upgrading to the atomos monitor and and easy rig.
Finally! I have been looking for a solid rig video that shows the camera usb-c port and monitor being powered by the vmount battery. I have seen so many that use npf for the monitor and/or a dummy battery for the camera. Kind of a stupid question but what cords (usb to usb-c, and DCI) do you recommend that are durable?
Great set-up, I'm working with something similar. How is powering the camera through USB working for you? I've been paranoid about voltage and getting something cheap that'll fry my camera.. I've seen dummy batteries with converters to prevent that, but how does the USB send the right amount of volts? Is it the plate that's converting? Thanks for your help!
Really great, I think this setup is exactly what I am looking for. But i trying to understand what cables there are from the lcd screen to the camera, and what cable there are from the battery to the camera? Please help :-)
Hi Brandon! After 4 years of batteries I finally switched to Vmount with a Sony A7RIII. My question: How do you power the camera from a USB? Is that enough power? Because I've tried but I think I'll have to go with a dummy battery and a DTap
Have you been having issues with your plate and battery. For some reason mine is really loose and if I bump the camera the battery and camera turns off. Any help on better securing the plate and battery?
Definitely digging that setup. I got cage from Camvate about a month ago and it does make big difference my Canon SL2 is a lighter weight DSLR and coupled with cage and side handle it does make handheld easier and using IS lenses also does too with setup. Will look into that VMount battery because do have external monitor from FeelWorld (MA5) and mostly power it through camera but to bypass that VMount would be better.
Hi Brandon! Thanks for sharing! I've got a similar setup but looking at the V Battery plate + NP-F to V-mount, because of the NP-F batteries I already have. My question is regarding the follow focus, I have my Wood handle on the left side, as I have GH5 and I like to have my right hand to control the settings and the left to zoom; But the problem is that either way, I'd find awkward to focus. Since you have a similar setup I do, how do you manage to focus manually? I mean, you do have a Sony so that's not a big deal for you, but on the GH5 we go full manual.
Yoooo..... You should add the Rosetta adapter handle to the list cause it wasn't on the SmallRig SMALLRIG Right Side Wooden Grip with Rosette Bolt-On Mount - 2083
Could I do professional video work with the Sony a7 iii? Really want something to do narrative filmmaking and UA-cam content - thinking either the Sony a7 iii or fujifilm x-t3.
Do you have a suggestion for a dtap to LP-E6N battery ? Want to use v mount battery for and eos r rig but I’m not sure what kind of brand faux battery to get
Have you had any issues with overheating, with such a robust setup? I'm planning on covering a few summer events that will be exposed to the sun for an extended period of time... Want to make sure if anyone else has had overheating issues with their a7iii's in general, let alone with a setup like this? Thank you for the feedback!
Lol smallrig makes dough out of clients buying and buying pieces until they figure out the perfect rig! Kind of disappointed by these systems as screws and such start loosening every now and then and you gotta keep tightening them quite more often than I'd like! (And I am usually a bit excessive when it comes to tightening!)... Dunno, still figuring out my ideal shoulder/handheld system... Thanks for your ideas though. Peace!
Cleanest a7iii setup I've ever seen!
Great custom breakdown Brandon. We can’t wait to see your future rigs 🍻🍻
rig looks great, awesome video man!
Thanks brother!
Been watching for a few months your one of the best keep it up brotha!
Thanks man!
Same dude, looked two weeks ago for a red looking setup and couldn’t find any. Such a good setup, but will be upgrading to the atomos monitor and and easy rig.
Just built mine, minus the rails, loving it so far thanks for looking out!

Madddddd overkill. I love it
Lol maybe but it gets the job done for sure.
4:46 context is everything 😂
This setup is so dope man! keep it up :)
Awesome rig mate!
Great setup.. the “monitor mount”’ is a plus, but the top handle has cold shoe mount for a monitor.
I'm definitely going to look into remaking this! Looks absolutely killer
What a beautiful set up... So nice!!
It reminds me of a RED setup. Looks hella dope.
Pretty sweet, thanks for the video Brandon.
Love your video! I have a couple SmallRig Cages and out agree they are well built for a good price.
Dangerously close to my XH1 rig! Love my wooden grip! Cheers man!

I went with their 'half-cage' so for weight and accessibility to controls/dials.
Solid vid! Subbed
Was looking into getting an FS5 because of issues like stability, battery life etc..., but might just have to kit out my A7iii like this
Love it brother
it's just wonderful ❤️
love it bro!
Good looking setup sir
Wooo nice set up. What cable from battery to a7iii?
Really great, I think this setup is exactly what I am looking for. But i trying to understand what cables there are from the lcd screen to the camera, and what cable there are from the battery to the camera? Please help :-)
Thank you!
Sweet thanks 🙏
Great one
Were'd you get the neon light on the wall from? I've been looking all over but can't really find one.

Thank you for such an informative video, quick question did you have any challenges mounting the D&O battery to the V-mount plate? Thank you!

Fit Love Power Which cage did you get for the SL2?
@@bigsaccs Camvate cage for canon DSLRs with handle it's a half cage
Can we attach external monitor while 4k recording??
Coz someone told me external monitor we attach when only HD recording
You can record 4k with monitor like ninja v. That’s the only way to get 4k with a monitor and face tracking, is to record to the monitor.

this is a year old, would you still recommend this rig or have you updated it?
Adam Barefoot it’s always as up to date as your needs are. We have users who still use a6000 cages (which are 6 years old) 👍👍
@@smallrigofficial6732 already got my a7iii rig, the top handle, and side handle!
Adam Barefoot legit! 🥳🥳
@@smallrigofficial6732 wann hook me up with some stuff haha
Woo!
What camera lens are you showing us here. It looks like a good one.
Have you considered a shorter cable to eliminate the need of wrapping it around the top handle?
Yoooo..... You should add the Rosetta adapter handle to the list cause it wasn't on the SmallRig

How that Vmount Plate? I heard it can get loose and lose connection a lot is that true for you?
With this set up can you plug a rode shotgun mic without changing anything?
Great video! Just wondering how you power your camera? Dummy battery or just cable?
Dummy battery
Thank you bro! And can I ask what brand you have ? So hard to find some good 🙌
hey brandon! how much overall runtime do you get when feeding camera and monitor off the vmount?
Could I do professional video work with the Sony a7 iii? Really want something to do narrative filmmaking and UA-cam content - thinking either the Sony a7 iii or fujifilm x-t3.
Easily :)
Where do you get the money for these cameras do you make major motion pictures
Could you please recommend me a charger for this V Mount Battery? and can i charge it using the SmallRig new adapter?
How much this this entire setup cost you man? This is INSANE 😂
Any changes you would recommend after that wedding you shot? Loupe maybe?
Do you have a suggestion for a dtap to LP-E6N battery ? Want to use v mount battery for and eos r rig but I’m not sure what kind of brand faux battery to get
Great vid. Are you using a dummy battery connected to the V mount or are you connecting to the camera via USB? Would your set up be the same on a7s2?
Looks like he's using DTAP to USB C
Did you have to add a dummy battery for your camera?
How do you get your monitor to work while shooting 4K? Mines shows the picture but as soon as I press record, the screen goes black.
Nice but no access easy to your camera controls/menu
amazon Battery link doesn't work any longer..
So what do u connect the to the v mount battery 🔋 using d tap n usb port
so how you controlling your focus and exposure?

How about setting with manual focus lens?
Can I ask for the weight of this setup? Cause I want to run it on my Ak2000. Many thanks
Is it hard to hit record if your hand is always on the wooden handle?
Your link for the monitor is unavailable!
Is there a way to use a V mount battery with the Canon M50?
Hey! I was wondering if the Camvate plate would be safe to use with the Sony a6500?
Did Sony fix the overheating issue?

If you keep your rig on your camera longterm, consider using some loctite on the screws.
