Here's my first set of Astaroth PC Ranked Matches (*Maggots)... 10 matches in total (Player: Mr. Yagami) vs Kilik, Taki, Seong Mi-Na, Maxi & Astaroth players. SC6 Astaroth as fun as ever. Some people say he needs buffs... I say you just need to play him right. 2003-ish SC2 style has been working for me. (I'm not against buffs tho.) 😂 No maggot is safe. GGs to all players who appear in this video (P.S. you guys aren't maggots).Currently maining Ivy, Mitsurugi & Astaroth in SC6 - the return of my SC2 mains!

It's one of those moves that I know for a fact will never eeeeeeever get old. 😂 ...so damn satisfying every time. I was laughing out loud (by myself) during most of these matches. Good times.

I sent clips of me doing the combo more than once to show that it is consistent and it’s VERY doable in matches.. Pretty sure everyone can agree that Astaroth's Rending Torment is one of the best if not THE best Reversal Edge move in the game. I love seeing it every time.

I don't. I can't stand fighting Mi Na. IDK what it is about people who use her, but everyone I've fought just spams the low thrust and the two guard breaks
@@sorinsilverheart3200 I used to hate that about mi na players as well but its easy to counter when your aware of the usual over dependence of those moves. Asteroth on the other hand pretty much forces you to always commit to something in round 1 of RE, and even then the odds are stacked against you highly. And while best practice is to simply avoid re against asteroth it still sucks when ANY char is constantly spamming re.

Why are some of the times of day different from what the stages normally have? Like for the witcher stage it started day time then went sunset when normally its night to day with no sunset at all.
It's a new PC mod. 😉 I'll be showing off many more stage / time of day mods in my future SoulCalibur VI and Tekken 7 videos.

I don't think Astaroth is that weak. I think he just needs to be played correctly. Interesting though to hear you say that being a 10-year veteran... but come to think of it, I am a almost 20-year Astaroth veteran (and I can't believe it's been that long now). 😅 Yeah, Asta is slow compared to everyone else... but so is Zangief. Fight with him at the correct range, use his command throws, stay aggressive, Guard Impact, and Asta has no trouble winning. Instead of asking the devs to change the game, think of it as a challenge and upgrade your skills. 😁

If he had untech-able l throws, then perhaps it would balance him.
But with the introduction of RE which is a terrible game mechanic & them slowing him down, simply means he can never compete.
You won't see many high level Roth players in tournaments.
There is not a single match-ups that favours Asteroth either.

Since I have switched to Ivy, my experience playing online Rank has completely changed.
I don't feel like I'm swimming uphill anymore.
My other buddy who is a Roth player has switched to Mina & now winning his matches.
The vast majority of Asteroth fans feel he is nerfed too much.

@@ashbyashby2616 I disagree. I think Asta has way more potential than people are giving him. Aris said the same thing in his recent video. I think it's too early to complain and give up on characters... the game has only been out a month. lol. It took me YEARS to get my SoulCalibur 2 mains as solid as they became, one of which was Astaroth. Like I said in the video description, I'm definitely not against Asta buffs... he could use some faster moves to deal with pressure... and I wish he still had his shoulder charge cancel from SC2 (which would single-handedly add tons of useful mixups), but I enjoy the challenge of working with a Zangief-like grab character. His unblockables are good, his armor moves are great, his half-life Just Frame throws are cheap, and his Critical Edge is one of the best in the game. Gotta work his range and max damage combos. You make me want to win a tournament with Asta and prove it. lol. Also, I think Reversal Edge is a great mechanic. I love it. 😀 Don't give up.

You will never win any tournaments with Asteroth and you won't see anybody else win with him either.
Sorry but I am with the majority which believe Asteroth is trash in SC6 & it's a shame.
