Love the Lupe reaction and the discussion. There is a rumor that the cops are included because the third meaning may relate to selling drugs. This would also relate to the Michael (My Cool) Young History theme and a song you reacted to called "The Cool". Lupe not only weaves intricate bars, he weaves entire songs together to tell the story of a young boy's experience growing up in the Streets (Streets on Fire) and the Game. Check out He Say, She Say or Put You on Game.
@@kylekluttz7865 lmaoooooo! 🤣🤣 It's already worked (for me anyway), because he made it to my Wall Of Fame. Can't wait for y'all Lupe fans to see the poster I got & I have a surprise for y'all as well. Y'all will be so proud. You'll be smiling like a proud dad when you see the stuff. Lol! 🤣🤣 Appreciate you for introducing me to Lupe's discography. I had no idea that he could rap like that cuz literally the ONLY things I had ever heard & reacted to by him are BATTLE SCARS with GUY SEBASTIAN & STEVE JOBS SLR 3 1/2 (ROYCE DA 5'9" DISS). Lol. Like I said, he just wasn't popular down here in the boondocks. 🤣🤣 I can't wait to hear more! I've still gotta tackle MURAL JR. & MS. MURAL. I dread it & look forward to it at the same time if that makes any sense. Lol. The ONLY thing I DON'T like about Lupe is he makes me look & feel VERY STUPID & I don't like to look/feel stupid, because I believe I'm pretty intelligent! Lmaoooo!! 🤣🤣 Anyway! Thank you again! I'll be going Live again either tonight or tomorrow night. Much love. 😁🙏
@@AprilGShowers I cant wait to see the poster! I knew you would love Lupe as soon as you said you hadn't heard much from him. It's so much fun watching your journey, ESPECIALLY for those of us who have followed Lu for the last 10-15 years and know how much complete fucking awesomness lies ahead for you 😅 as larger pictures start taking shape.
A lot of people proposed it was a double on dealing drugs too, Lu denied that tho. It is simply a song about skateboarding, finding love, enjoying simple things until life perhaps comes to ruin it(temporarily at the least) Edit: Actually, that last part is my interpretation, worded it terribly
Hey, you should react a random lupe fiasco song. Just one that seems interesting to you. I'm telling you right now, he doesn't have a bad song at all!!
Watching further, DJ is right, skating is just something that's always been hated on by suburban community, thus they are chased by cops, or an excuse to go after hood kids, grab em for one thing and look for something else, anyway I think Lu isn't trying to touch too much on police brutality too much, it's just another piece of every day Chicago life, it's very in the day of the life, these types of songs aren't common for him.
Love it so much absolutely brilliant what an elite legend ..priceless reaction made me laugh ..you are both so incredible .. if only everyone could respect each others opinion like you both do ..would be wonderful ..everyone needs to watch this reaction thanku so much love an God bless always x
I have a theory on this song. I think throughout the song the chorus' meaning changes for each verse. The first verse is about the main character being labeled a misfit so he's being "pushed" away by his community. The second verse he meets his girlfriend, I think this time the chorus refers to a baby kicking and pushing inside of the womb as they now have a child together. After the third verse I think the last chorus does simply refer to skateboarding. At least that's my interpretation
This is probably one of Lu's most commercially successful songs and helped put him on the map, fairly simple story. Since nobody else has mentioned it, I can offer a story. Lupe had this song finished before he signed to Atlantic, they saw this one would a moneymaker so they sent someone to the Philippines to buy the sample so they could have a cut of the pie. It's a nice beat but due to its simple nature I feel it's one of the worst songs on the album, just saying the others mean more. This introduced skating to the rap world. This album is Lupe showing people the city where he lives, the good and the bad, the food and the liquor. Skateboarding is just a piece of where he lives so it's on the album.
I love y’all on lupe one of the best but you should definitely check out a country rapper big Krit -price of fame or the vent that’ll tell you everything he about
Lupe wrote it as a double but it could totally be interpreted as a triple. So I'd say y'all are both right
This song a masterpiece. Imo he talking bout doing what you love no matter the outcomes. Keep on kicking n pushing

"...thought kick push was about drugs, it's not, but just to be super sure..." - Lupe
Oooooo! A classic! Can't wait to watch this! 🔥🔥

KICK PUSH (PUSH like push weight) GRIND (grinding is to hustle)
Lupe said himself it wasn't about selling drugs, though..... so idk....

It's just a skateboard love story. Skateboarders get chased by cops because they are skating in illegal spots.
