I'm going to show you an amazing and free AI image processing tool for creating Google Post images, Google Product images, basically any images that you use in your digital marketing work.
We create a lot of Google Posts and Google Product images for our clients at Whitespark, but getting them to give us good photos can be like pulling teeth. We ask them - no - we beg them to send us photos of them on the job: meeting with customers doing the work, whatever it is.
And I bet a lot of theSEOs out there understand this pain. The client finally sends you an image and it looks like this…
We found that the perfect dimensions for Google Posts and Google Products are 1200x900. That's typically what we use. So when we get a photo that’s in the wrong aspect ratio, it's really hard to work with.
Well, let me introduce you to your new best friend, ClipDrop. This free tool has a ton of awesome image processing functions. You can upscale, you can remove backgrounds, you can adjust the lighting, replace backgrounds… Really powerful stuff!
So, if I'm trying to make a nice new Google Post or Google Product image and my client sends me an unusable photo, this tool comes in handy.
Now I wish the client had sent me a larger photo, but this is what I got. So, I'm going to start by using the Image upscale tool. Just drag in the photo and it upscales your image two times and it looks great.
Another problem we're going to have with this photo is that the dimensions are all wrong for a Google Post or Google Products. So, I'm going to use their incredible uncrop feature. This is similar to Photoshop's Generative Fill, but it’s free. The free version of Clip Drop allows a maximum width of 1024, but 1024x768 is the same aspect ratio as our 1200x900. So, I'm just going to adjust the dimensions, center my image, click “Next” and it works some AI magic to generate the rest of the picture.
Now, you're going to get a number of different options and some of them are good, but some of them are not so good.
Check out this one. I don't know what the deal is here, but I think this guy might be licking the wall.
But some of the other options totally work! .I can now use this for my Google Post. I have an image that is the right size and dimensions.
And did you know that most people are doing Google Posts totally wrong? They think of Google Posts like social media, but they’re so not social media. Check out this video to learn how to do Google Posts the right way, and get inspired by a number of awesome Post examples!

How about getting your clients to hire a photographer? We can literally create a stock of images that are real authentic content (not AI fake stuff) that really showcases them at their best. Yes, I know, many will think it's expensive, but if you get it done as a bulk job, it could literally be no more than stock images. Imagine that! Custom REAL photos for less than stock!
It simply needs to be a new part of the Local SEO conversation.

Hey there! We always encourage businesses to hire professionals for their GBP photos. And we advise against using generic stock photos.
This video simply offers an alternative solution for businesses that cannot afford a photography service, or just want to use a vertical photo for Posts.

@@WhitesparkCa Totally cool with that. But I just thought it would be good to still mention that the decision order should still start with "Hey we recommend professional photos... but for those times when you can't or it's just out of reach or there's no time to hire a pro or other very understandable reason, here's a great solution to keep posting!"
The photography industry is on the verge of being heavily impacted by AI imagery. This is not a dig nor a plea to stop technology but rather to stage the decision on imagery in a way that creates the best 'Win' for all of our respective clients. I don't want you to feel like you have to be on the defensive on this Darren. This is an opportunity to have us all help our clients, more.
