Both of my parents have already made it VERY clear to me and my siblings that if one of us came out they would love us the same and nothing would change, I have 3 siblings & their older and all of them are straight including me but I’m really grateful that my parents love me regardless
Just make sure you are in a safe place if and when you decide to tell anyone. Make sure YOU are ready to tell. And always remember you are you, not your sexuality. You are a human who has purpose, and if somone can't see that because you are bi then that is their loss.
Same my dude. My father is homophobic and I'm pretty sure he'll disown me if he finds out. I'm exhausted of lying so I'm just getting ready when the time comes.
I hope that the current gen of teens who now see how natural and beautiful love is will raise their own kids in a world where homophobia just doesn't exist anymore
Unfortunately we are reversing when it comes to this and I fear that it is actually getting more dangerous for younger people. Much more dangerous than before.
When he said "I don't know why and I'm so sorry." I cried so hard because i'm in the same situation. I can't even come out to my parents. I find men so attractive that I simply can't resist. And because of that I have anxiety issues.
OMG the three are amazing actors😱😱 you could really see how they got into their characters, personally I forgot I was watching Nicole Kidman and Lucas Hedges and I just see the characters
When I came out a year and a half ago I honestly thought this was going to happen, I was very scared. Thankfully I come from a very respectful family, and I show my full respect to anyone who had to go through this
I just want to give him a hug and say there is nothing wrong with you. You are as you are meant to be and deserve a life of being true to yourself and happiness.

Russell Crowe and Nicole Kidman playing the role of the parents enhanced this scene on an exponential level. Very talented. Between the father's eye twitch and the mother's spontaneous pivot and audible gasp as she processes what their son just revealed to them. The two transcended into their respective characters completely. The acting prowess, especially within the minute details, is a thing of beauty.
1:20 Biology: No pal, we don't love you, and that "awesome" responsibility is simply us being at work, and have been so long before you boys and girls were even a thing.
It sucked to come out as trans. When your parents don’t approve or understand, it makes you doubt endlessly over and over whether you are who you think you are. But eventually you have to choose your own identity over wasting your life being miserable to protect your parents’ fragile ego. At that moment you really get to see what petty people they always were, what their priorities always were, and it’s so sad.
@@Nonalhomophobie It was early to mid 2000s, when Garrard (renamed Jared in the movie) was 19. As Garrard was born in either 1984 or 1985. So definitely it can be PS2 as it came out in 2000.
@Jacub81 What do you mean? How does offering someone water and looking at someone's eyes mean he's not gay? Did you really forget he kissed a boy, came out as gay, and went to conversion therapy? You're reading way too much into things

Well I think : - homophobic abuse is not a political issue, but a matter of human dignity - that the acting was very good - that the script captures the hollowness of conversion therapy actors really well - the dialogue is tensing and gripping - and that nobody cares about what you asserts as the truth. And that it is pointless to compare this movie to another.

My advice find allies that'll love and respect you no matter your sexuality, They'll back you up if your parents kick you out.
My heart was pounding thru this entire clip. I hope this never happens to me. oh my god
God I saw this movie alone and kept gasping for air. It was so real and relatable it stole my heart.

😭. “I don’t know why. And I’m so sorry.” The fact he feels he has to apologize. 😭
In the sequel, this family confronts its belief that light bulbs are sinful.
Lightbulbs are satanic. Especially when they burn out right as your walking underneath them!

The father in the movie is so old fashioned and he needs to be educated about the LGBT community.
Almost every father in the world is old fashioned. Including mine.
basically all dads in the world are like this and it’s not old fashioned it’s the way they think and why they think that
Fat Russell Crowe kinda reminds me of either John Goodman or Lance Barber
I woulda kept lying til I was too old for them to do anything to me
I’m glad my parents are ok with me. I’m so lucky
This is inaccurate
You can't pause an online video game
This particular one isn't(which I can assume is Mortal Kombat Armageddon).
Probably he was playing PS2, according to the date? Circa 2006 or something?
Me after seeing Troye Sivan’s rush music video
Russell Crowe's character is so villainous.
Just extremely misguided.
This looks a lot like my coming out

Jared is not gay, change my mind
Yeah because he totally kissed another boy for fun, came out as gay, and actually went to conversion camp because he just wanted to
Is this serious?
It's a reference to Steven Crowder and Jared who are conservative hosts/commentators. They hold those "change my mind" discussions.
